  remote help
Posted by: highestbid - 2009-11-09, 11:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I just bought this nifty lil remote http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...0418068342
I got it because it has easy mouse functions and means I can avoid VNC most of the time. However the buttons dont appear to be labeled exactly like the hauppage remote I have now. Is there a program that I can run that will tell me the IR code (i think it is device & button number) that I am getting from each button so I can figure out how to remap it?

Video but no sound with Norwegian Freeview (NRK on RiksTv)
Posted by: cjh - 2009-11-09, 08:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have moved from the UK to Norway and am trying to make use of the tv card again (Hauppauge Nova-T-500 DVB-T) to get the unencrypted NRK channels available on the RiksTv service.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled 1.4.7 and the K-Lite Codec Pack and somehow stumbled into getting the video working (I thought from other posts this was not possible at all). However there is not a hint of sound available.

I have also noticed that a couple of old UK recordings now playback with normal video but the audio is nothing but static in PVRX2 and WMP. I guess this means something is missing/corrupt in general?

Any ideas? Logs attached.

Closed Captions in Live TV mode?
Posted by: andonato - 2009-11-09, 05:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi all,

I've been using GBPBR 1.0.8 for a long time. It works well on my system, so I continue to use it. I just got through a fresh install of XP (due to a non-GBPVR related meltdown), and I am encountering an issue with closed captions (I am in the USA). I have captions working on my recordings, however, they do not show up in Live TV mode. This used to work for me on my previous installation (same version, same hardware - Hauppauge 500). Any ideas as to what is going on? Logs are attached.

Thanks!

Clicking on DVB-T Radio crashes GBPVR
Posted by: sheppy99 - 2009-11-09, 04:45 PM - Forum: DVB-T Radio - Replies (5)

I've recently installed the DVB-T Radio plugin and whenever I click upon it in GBPVR the program crashes. Further investigation in config.exe.log gives the line below - can anyone tell me what is wrong?
Thanks
Kevin

Hi

I have been trying to search for programs via WebAdmin but fail to find anything if I use a word with Swedish national characters in it.

Is this a known problem or am I the only one with this problem?

  Recordings keep failing
Posted by: drdr6 - 2009-11-09, 09:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

So far I've made about a dozen attempts to record, but only one has succeeded - and I can't tell what's different.

The first problem was with the machine not waking up reliably - this I fixed by removing Scheduled.exe, which was installed with the Kworld tuner software (seemed to be overriding gbpvr's wakeful requests)

Now I schedule a recording, the machine wakes up appears to do the recording; after the allotted time I go to the recordings section and my new recodng is usually "ready" (but sometimes "failed"), but clicking on the recording produces a couple of seconds of blank screen followed by the recordings menu again.

If I dig into the place where the files are being stored (in this case I've set d:\gbpvr and d:\gbpvr\live) I see the recording of the correct name and time, with a .TS file of zero length.

there is nothing obvious in the logs. For example, this morning it should have recorded Thomas the Tank between 08:30 and 09:30 (nice short program for testing), but the recording service log showed

there was nothing in pvrx2.exe's or native's logs between 8:27 and 8:47 when I went back to look to see whether it had recorded or not.

Live TV is pausable and replays after pause, and there are traces of non-zero length .TS files around e.g.

[/SIZE]
which suggests that the setup can record.

I noted at another time it should have been recording, there was zero cpu load with brief spikes to about 10% every 20 seconds or so.

I don't know whether it's significant, but there appear to be three entries in the pending log for each program, e.g.

Are there any other log files in other directories ?
Any ideas on what else to check ?

Very high Memory footprint with 1.4.7
Posted by: All Steamed Out - 2009-11-09, 05:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi to all,

I am getting memory usage of 144,104 K in Task Manager for GBPVRRecordingService.exe and 90,732 K for GPBVRTray.exe - even when in standby and not recording.

That is a whopping 250 MB when idling. I remember earlier versions running about 30 or so.

I am running XP Home SP3 32bit. Is anyone else getting usage this high?

Also, is it to be expected with this version?

  GB-PVR Won't work on Windows7
Posted by: clayton.erickson - 2009-11-09, 03:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hello All,

I have just installed the latest GB-PVR onto Windows7 and am having problems.

I have a Kworld-115 ATSC/Analog card (it is a Philips SAA713x). It is functioning properly in Windows7 (the TotalMedia app that came with it works).

I can actually run PVRX2 but cannot run the Config.exe to customize or configure GB-PVR. It hangs and gives me a pop up that says "GB-PVR Configuration has stopped working" and I have to close the program.

I have tried running as administrator, all types of 'compatibility' but cannot get it run. I've attached the logs (i think)

Thanks

  Well Done GB-PVR v1.4.7
Posted by: savocanberra - 2009-11-09, 02:22 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Hi All,

Would like to say well done on a great stable, light, easy to navigate product!

After trying nearly every product on the market that will do TV/Media I found GB-PVR to be the most stable, with added plug-ins it will do most of all the other products on the market.

Thanks for a great product!

I will try to release a new theme in the next couple of months when time lets me Smile
