  DVB-T + DVB-S Tuner
Posted by: hansol123 - 2009-11-08, 09:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have just built a new PC and installed Windows 7 home plus 2 Hauppauge cards taken from existing machines Nova DVBS2 and Nova DVBT.

I have managed to tune in both cards and download the satellite channels using XMLTV and in the case of the DVBS2 card and directly from Freeview for the DVBT card. I have 2 problems :-

1. The Channel page in config shows approximately 38 channels but tv guide in PRX2 only 20. The Freeview channels are not showing

2. I can watch live TV DVBS channels but recorded TV does not start.

Both cards were working fine in my older machines.

Thanks for your assistance.

Opening preferences will always try to install something
Posted by: gkovacsp - 2009-11-08, 07:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm 80% ure I've seen this on this forum previously, but just can't find the magic word to find it...

Whenever I open Preferences an installer process starts. It canot complete so I stop it at the end.
It says "Please wait, until Windows configures GBPVR"
The it asks for the GBPVR09912.msi file, which I've downloaded and tried to use, but no luck.

It starts again, and sometimes again.

This is when the preferences oen and everything seems to work perfecty - it is just annoying.

GBPVR 1.4.7, Windows XP SP3,

  1080i recordings fine until skip
Posted by: lost@c - 2009-11-08, 06:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have spent some time seeing if others are having this same issue but not found anything. Most seem to have issues right through recordings.

My 1080i recordings (TV3 NZ DTT) play fine until I use skip or fwd. After I use either of these I get and almost strobe effect on video with movement. A pause and un-pause will sometimes fix it as will a small skip back. It only seems to be an issue with the 1080i recordings, the 720p seem fine.

My first thought was my video card drivers and settings, but I have found changes to these have no effect on this issue. I can live with it but would like to sort if possible

Cheers

Setup for HDTV(especially in Denmark). Mine can't cope.
Posted by: mila06 - 2009-11-08, 06:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (22)

Hi

I would love to hear about some HDTV setups. I have a fairly low-spec setup(see signature) which i fine for MPEG 2 recording and playback. Some channels now broadcasts in H.264 MPEG4 and HE-ACC audio. I have tried many setups (Cyberlink, ArcSoft, monogram of sound), but the system can not cope.
The Media Center should be in the livingroom, so it should be relatively quiet. It should also be not-so-expensive!

What are your HDTV setups/specs??

  Turn on/off TV
Posted by: highestbid - 2009-11-08, 03:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

The only thing I now use my tv remote for is to power the tv on and Off. I habe bouth a pvr-1600 and an HP media Center recome. Is is possible to reconfigure a button on one of them to do this? I assume that would involve haveing the PC remove send a different device code for that one key. I have looked around for a program that would display the incoming IR code so I could figure out what I need to send -- but so far no luck. Iknow I could buy an expensive Harmony but we have three tv's and that would be a lot of money to add just 1 extra function I need.

  Recordings
Posted by: stustunz - 2009-11-08, 06:30 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I think its been asked for before but here goes

wish #1
In tv guide it would be cool if it showed like it does in the web scheduler
as in once its finished recording it shows a different colour and you can watch it from there

wish#2
in recordings have a tab called "today" or "recent" or similar
which shows pending, while recording and recorded all in one list so you dont have to switch between folders/tvguide to find a recording that you know is happening that day

Thanks for considering my wishes Big Grin:p

  Live TV not working.
Posted by: seymoria - 2009-11-08, 05:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi. I have multiple tuners installed and had a scheduled recording going on on one of the tuners. However for live tv I was prompted that no tuner is available and I will have to cancel a manual recording. The live tv was working ok yesterday during multiple recordings going on. I changed or installed nothing new except that i set up a huge list of scheduled recordings last night and there were some conflicts also.
For your kind advice. Regards.

  Blue-Retro-HV (High Visibility) skin
Posted by: Jaggy - 2009-11-08, 05:53 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (2)

After getting my NMT I found it displayed the fonts much bigger than my old MVP so I decided I needed to develop a High Visibility skin with smaller fonts than Blue-Retro-SHV so Blue-Retro-HV was born. It uses fonts that are on average two points smaller than I used when developing Blue-Retro-SHV but uses the same TaskImages & layout etc. It has been tested on an NMT, MVP, PC & PC Client.

Here is the wiki link if you want to check it out

  Problem with ffdshow
Posted by: drdr6 - 2009-11-07, 09:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I've been having the problem where I can't get sound on any recorded video (live works OK). I found a thread suggesting that using ffdshow had worked for several people (as opposed to any of the codecs I had to choose from) as the AC3 codec, so I installed ffdshow and all seemed well.

After rebooting the machine, there was a dialog box (can't remeber exactly what it said now) during boot (after windows main desktop loaded) saying something wanted to use ffdshow to do audio and did I want to let it. Naievely I said yes and on starting pvrx2 I found I was back where I was with no audio.

I re-installed ffdshow, to no effect.

I have used graphedit to display the codecs, and unsurprisingly there is no audio codec. More surprisingly the video codec shows as being Avermedia (there is an avermedia card in the system), but the video codec is listed as ffdshow in pvrx2 config.

If I click on ffdshow in the programs menu it shows the ffdshow config and everything seems to be in the default state.

Being a newbie I'm not sure what the drill is for describing the config.

Any ideas please ?

thanks,
Derek

  Built-In Streaming Capabilities
Posted by: mckhatri - 2009-11-07, 06:38 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (15)

It would be great if built-in streaming capabilities were possible.

Something like simply being able to specify links and connection types (mms or what have you) to watch within GB-PVR.

I know UbuStream does something quite similar, but getting it to work with GB-PVR under different skins and what-have-you is quite troublesome.
