GBPVR was installed and working fine in Vista SP2. Upgraded to W7 (32) and GBPVR no longer works (sound breaks up and channel changing doesn't work). I would like to reinstall but would like to uninstall first. Problem is that GBPVR or DENZ is no listed in Control Panel\Programs. the Denz/gbpvr directory likewise does not contain an uninstall application. How do I proceed?
This weekend I upgraded to gbpvr 1.4.7 and upgraded to the most recent mvpmcx2 as well. Things seem to work fine except for skipping in videos. When I press one of the Skip keys, playback stops and it goes back to the Recordings Play, Delete, Close screen. The same when I key in a certain number of minutes to skip forward and then press skip. Any idea on what may have changed and how to get the gb-pvr preferred skip behavior back?
This may related. During the process I decided to switch to UNC file paths in my config.xml file too, recalling reading somewhere sometime ago that there were advantages to doing so - maybe performance related? I didn't search for those posts before upgrading... just did it. Is this what's causing the problem?
Since I now have some clear QAM channels (the locals), I think I'm ready to get a QAM card.
Is there a significant advantage to the MCE remote over the Hauppauge remote? (My existing Hauppauge remote works fine and I use it for several other apps as well as GBPVR.) I believe the MCE remote can wake up the HTPC from hibernate so that would be an advantage if possible.
Will the PVR-150 remote and IR receiver and blaster work with the non-MCE 1600? (I'm shopping on ebay and many seem to have these missing.)
Do I have to get a 1600 that is labeled QAM on the tuner module, or can any 1600 tune QAM with the latest drivers?
Is the tuner on the 1600 so inferior that I should get a 2250 instead? (Not a great solution since I don't have a free PCIe slot. -> new MB or get 780G graphics to work - gave up on that once already.)
Or just get a HDHomerun? Is there a significant network load recording two channels? I have the classic WRT54GL router, if that makes a difference.
I recently bought a WIN-TV CI module to be able to view encrypted channels. Work great!. I have only one minor problem. Whenever I start live-tv viewing I get a popup window as below. Does anybody now how to prevent this window, alternately how to hide it and keep PVRX2 in focus.
I know I can delete the configuration but I want something less drastic than scorched earth. I've tried disabling all the channels associated with one of my tuners and then updating the EPG.
This, you would think, would cause PVRX2 to not fire up this tuner when a recording is called for but PVRX2 still allocates programmes for recording to it - resulting of course in a blank, zero-length file. Any thoughts on how to achieve this?
I'm trying to add a KNC One TV-Station DVR to the direct.ini. But i cant figure it out.
This is what i have so far, but i get confused because it has an extra audiocapture device and no 656 pins. Can somebody please help me?

In response for the need to have the GB-PVR .exe Changer plug-in control a set-top box via a serial port IR Blaster from irblaster.info and WinLIRC, I wrote this script and then packaged it into an executable file for MS Windows. The script accepts a channel number or remote control command defined in an LIRC configuration file, gets other required info from a .conf file, and then splits digits into individual IR transmissions for the WinLIRC telnet server to process. The script has features such as a "100" button the might need to be pressed before 3-digit channels, an "enter" button that might need to be pressed after entering channel digits, a configurable button press delay, configurable ip address and port settings, logging, and debugging output. I've attached a .zip file containing the script, the .exe, a required configuration file, and a README; and they are all very thoroughly documented.
I don't expect to have much time to support further development of this script or answer support type questions, but the script is documented well enough to answer most questions and allow for easy modification. Please share this script, and make it better.
Thanks for the efforts of all those involved with GB-PVR. Take care.
Edit: 20 Feb 2011 - Original Attachment re-attached.
Been getting this happening every so often, maybe once a week, where i'll get on the system and see that all the recordings have failed.

There should have been recordings at about 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm, but you can see there's nothing until 21:17 or so when i start up pvrx2 and then it figures out they've all failed. There's not much to go on here, but is there anything I can check to make sure the recording service is working? As it looks like the service stays up.
The native log doesn't have much in it either:

I have more than 200 movies in the Moviewiz Db now and I mostly use the blue button to toggle the list between most currently added and alphabetical sorting.
But if I just want to scroll through the list to see if there is something nice, the thumb gets a bit tired.
So if I could browse the db with, for example, the channel up/down button to scroll six items per click (or the number of entries shown on screen) that would be great!
By some reason I haven't figured out yet I can't enter characters with my remote, that would have been a workaround.
