  Problem reconfiguring T-500 card
Posted by: ErikW - 2009-11-03, 12:34 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I am running an older version 99.12 on one of my pcs for compability with PVR350 TV-Out. As Denmark have changed digital TV i was just planning to rescan the channels to get the new ones.

I had problems with that so i cleared the configuration and started from scratch. Deleted GBPVR folder and reinstalled 99.12. But each time i get to scan for channels i get "the capture source needs to be saved first. Save capture source first OK/Cancel". clicking OK i get the error "you must setup the recording source first".

I have checked the filtercheck and bda.ini, but as i can see the cards correctly the i assume that there is nothing wrong here.

However i have found in the config.exe-native gives some "filter"-errors that i do not understand.

This have worked for about 1-2 years. Please advise what i should look for.

Hauppauge wintv7 works fine and can find and show all the available uncoded channels.
That indicates to me that the T-500 drivers are loaded correctly, but i need help to find a workaround to get the new channels configured in GBPVR.

I know that its an old version, but i hope that some can help

ff/rew in wmv files under mms protocol
Posted by: rac - 2009-11-03, 12:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have my files trans-coded to wmv-700kb/s after they are done recording and then sent to a server. I have my students view these files using the mms protocol (mms://hcc-media.hawkeyecollege.edu/psych/11-02.wmv)

Before I switched to gbpvr I was able to ff/rew skip around when I recorded with the generic ATI ehome software, but the scheduling was horrible! The research I have done shows either something called index frames that needed to be added to the file when it trans-codes, or there may be a total duration file length issue.

if you try my older classes, they work fine…
(mms://hcc-media.hawkeyecollege.edu/psych/10-02.wmv)

the ffmpeg documentation doesn’t have anything about index frames, that i can understand (http://ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg-doc.html)

should i use windows media encoder to trans-code after my recordings with postprocessing.bat?

HVR-1600 plays action with horizontal distortion lines
Posted by: juno - 2009-11-02, 07:11 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Hi everyone,

I just upgraded my HVR-1600 to WinTv7 and the digital OTA looks good, for the exception of when there is a fast motion on the screen. Fast motion areas look like “horizontal lines distortions”. Is their a fix for this or setting changes.

Thank you in advance,

-Jay

  Error during scan
Posted by: overlandpark4me - 2009-11-02, 06:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

With the previous version I could get all the way through to where I tried to map, but it hung when I changed to the next channel. I gave up.

Running an HVR-1800 Combo ATSC/QAM on SP3

With the new version, card setup and Schedules direct is fine and I'm through to the point where it scans, but then gives me the windows "send error, don't send box after it scans a few stations. I haven't fiddled with any of the other settings.

I attached my config.

Thanks.

Auto-Convert TS recordings to mpeg failure
Posted by: dvasco - 2009-11-02, 06:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I set up Auto-Convert TS recordings to mpg for the first time last night but it doesn't seem to have gone through with the process since I still don't see the mpg files. Which log do I look at to attempt to find the cause?

High CPU on main menu if in backgound
Posted by: Elmo Putney - 2009-11-02, 06:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (20)

I've had this for ages...well propbably since slick skin came in. I quite often use my box to surf the web\ (like now) but leave gb on the main menu in the background.
Minimised or not it gives me a 60+ % cpu usage and the fans start spining up. It's not an issue I just always wondered why this is, in focus live TV gives me about 12% and an in focus maximised main menu about 19%.

  Hamachi and GBPVR
Posted by: fhmanas - 2009-11-02, 05:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

As the title suggests, can hamachi and GBPVR work together.

I am planning to setup a remote GBPVR machine with hamachi in one location.

Setup a second location with hamachi and GBPVR as a client.

Might also want to try MVP with hamachi.

Will this work?

  DVB-T BDA Scanning
Posted by: mvallevand - 2009-11-02, 04:31 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I saw this utility on the hauppauge.co.uk site ScanChannelsBDA is a small program that runs independently from WinTV 7 and can be used to check whether your DVB-T tuner is working correctly. It can be used on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=18418

It might be worth adding to your suite of diagnostic apps.

Martin
