  Setup a 2250 With 1.4.7
Posted by: jtokach - 2009-10-30, 05:01 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hi,

I just got my 2250 and have no idea how to set it up. I've found a few threads on the topic, but they are old and I think out dated. Is there a current guide for setting up this multi tuner card with instructions on how to map and all that jazz?

Thanks!

Jim

  Guide timeshift issue
Posted by: treads6464 - 2009-10-30, 02:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I set up my tuners to use mc2xml as the source for the guide data. The guide shows up beautifully...with one problem.

The actual time is 1 hour past where the guide data displays. In the settings I noticed a time shift area and set it at -01:00 on all 4 tuner guides, I then updated all 4 of them. Same problem.

Any ideas?

Since the wife requires recording a few things I temporarily set the windows time 1 hour back so the guide lined up and she could record accordingly.

I will greatly appreciate any help you guys can offer.

On a side note, the power supply in my box died 3 nights ago. I bought a new hard drive and loaded everything, including windows from scratch. Gbpvr loads and works as it always has...excellent. Thanks again for this program Sub!

Optimal video bitrate for MPEG2 analog SDTV recording?
Posted by: badboyz - 2009-10-30, 12:33 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Hi!

May I know what's the optimal video bitrate for MPEG2 analog SDTV recording?

I used to record at 15MB/s for a few months.
Then changed to 12MB/s.

After reading from a website saying 8MB/s is the optimal video bitrate for MPEG2 analog recording, anything higher won't result in better quality. I dropped my recording to 9MB/s which is 1MB more than the suggested 8MB/s.

Recently, saw someone mentioned that it is not useful to use higher bitrate than 6Mb/s, due to the limitation of the analog channels bandwidth (<6MHz).

Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

WHAT??? Im recording 3 channels with 2 tuners...
Posted by: wrecked - 2009-10-29, 08:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Can someone please explain what this is all about?

I have a Nova 500 with 2 DVB-T tuners, and was just setting up GBPVR.
Trying to test both tuners, and then tried to make a conflict, but instead it just records all 3 channels!!!

What in the world is happening???

TIA,
Jimmy

Hello All,
I have just found GB-PVR on the net and have now installed it and have it up and running ok, Wish I knew about GB-PVR a long time ago it's ace. As I'm playing around with it to set it up for my use I'm wondering if any1 know if I'm able to set the system up so that when I start it will open direct with Live TV???.
If this post is in the wrong place or the question has been asked before I'm soory.
Cheers

  EWA performance/speed bottleneck
Posted by: medic29 - 2009-10-29, 07:56 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (3)

Would anybody be able to tell me what exactly the bottleneck is when trying to perform complex EWA functions?
I was messing around some of the functions in EWA such as recording any time and any day of a show, but now, after 15 minutes it seems like the GB server is still crunching away at something. Can't get any page to load.
Normally I work around this issue by selecting only a few things at a time to record, but I want to get to the bottom of what is happening.
Just wondering if whatever the process is doing the crunching, (i.e. SQL?) could be done by another computer (a full blown SQL server for instance.)

Thanks!

  Hauppauge tuner driver disappearing?
Posted by: tuckster - 2009-10-29, 02:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have used GBPVR without this problem for quite some time. In the last couple of weeks recordings have been missed. When I looked into the problem my tuner was not working (HVR 1600 digital QAM). I reinstalled the hauppauge drivers and everything was good, until yesterday. Now the same thing seems to have happened again. Any idea what would be causing this?
