  Graphical Crash
Posted by: Seguer - 2009-11-02, 03:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hey guys,

Not sure if this is a graphics card/driver issue, but maybe others have had a similar issue. Wasn't quite sure what to search for, so if this is a known problem, point to existing threads if they exist!

Basically while playing a recording back or watching LiveTV occasionally (and it just happened 3 times within 15 minutes, had to restart computer each time) the computer freezes with what appears to be some pink/purple blurred lines across the screen. When this has happened before I've checked my attached monitor and it appears there too (so it may not just be GBPVR..?)

Any ideas?

WinTv7 transcodes only in PAL? Is it possible to change it the NTSC?
Posted by: juno - 2009-11-02, 02:57 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

Hi everyone,

I have the HVR-1600 and the MediaMVP, and I used the WinTv5 for all my analog cable recordings. However, I was reading the article that the WinTv7 has fixed all the bugs for the digital broadcasting. So I installed it and what do you know it works!!!! I can record into .ts format and transcode into .mpg format but when I try to view the .mpg files on MediaMVP I get “PAL Video not supported on NTSC Display”. I know it’s my TV’s limitation so I was wondering if it is possible to change it to transcode into NTSC so I can play the content on the MVP.

Thank you in advance,

-Jay

  BBC iPlayer "Big Screen" Interface
Posted by: NumberFive - 2009-11-01, 07:00 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (7)

Hi,

The BBC have recently lauched a portal for the iPlayer, http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/bigscreen/

It's a "Big Screen" interface, designed to be navigated from the sofa with only a trackball.

Would it be possible to have GBPVR launch this website in fullscreen and use the remote arrow keys like a mouse cursor?? Then the 'back' button on the remote can be used to escape fullscreen and lead back to the main GBPVR menus.

No idea how to programme it, just an idea! Smile

  Sort tv and radio channels
Posted by: peck - 2009-11-01, 03:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi.

I'm new here and just went from Mediaportal to GB-PVR despite my skepticism against closed source software (irony that I'm using Windows on this machine). Hopefully my mdapi/softcam-issues will be resolved since Mediaportal's development team nor forum even touches the subject.

However. The problem I'm having is that I can't figure out how to properly sort the channels now that I've scanned them. It lists both the radio channels and the tv channels in the same list and we're talking several hundred channels. I'm having ComHem (DVB-C) and sorting these channels by hand would be a nightmare. Could someone point me in the right direction? I could even live without the radio channels (sorting away all channels without videostreams) as long as I can have the rest of the channels sorted in some handy way.

Might add that I'm a bit bothered that I can't get subtitles working on channels that uses Teletext nor DVB Subtitles (any ideas?). Everytime I choose to watch TV my start menu shows up for a short while until the channel is turned on (related to starting the mdapifilter maybe?).

Been googling and searching so that my fingers almost bleeds. Greatful for help. Thanks for what seems to be a nice piece of software too.

  Recordings out of sync
Posted by: Blue Racer - 2009-11-01, 01:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I upgraded to Win 7 64 bit on my gbpvr computer. Now my recordings shown on my tv through my pch and using pvrx2 directly on my computer don't agree.
When I set a show to record and then go to watch it on my tv I am able to do so. But if I try to watch it directly on my computer using pvrx2 I can't, the show isn't shown in the ready to be watched listing, its still in the pending recordings, and since the time has passed for recording the show it just sits in the pending recordings. I did have a problem when I first did the upgrade where the recordings didn't work at all, but I fixed that with Subs help. That problem was that when I installed Win7 it assigned a different drive letter to my recordings/movies drives and I forgot to change it in the config. Anybody have any ideas?

  Movie file format?
Posted by: Knobby - 2009-11-01, 10:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi everyone,

I´m looking for a bit of advice so hope you can help me. I have a dedicated PC to run GBPVR and a number of MVP´s connected to TV´s in other rooms. I am planning to rip all my DVD´s and store them on the PC hard drive, and what I´d like to be able to do is this:

1. Watch a movie from the hard drive using the PC and a 5.1 surround sound system, maintaining the surround sound.
2. Watch a movie on a TV in another room via the MVP´s, with normal sound through the TV´s speakers.

I know (through hunting around on here) that you can´t play DVD´s through the MVP, so is there a file type that I could convert my DVD´s to which would allow me to achieve the two aims above?

  USB stick wont switch on
Posted by: spencer - 2009-11-01, 10:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I'm trying to use a Dual DVBT USB stick from tvstick.co.uk
GBpvr selects AF9015BDA during setup but no channels found and TV Stick has no power (LED on stick not on).
If I run Arcsoft Total Media software which came with stick and minimise it and then run GBpvr it tunes in ok and the TVstick red LED lights ok.
Can you help please.
I have attached 2 zip files
1 x No Power to stick
1 x Powered ok

Thank you

  Video description files
Posted by: Heyt - 2009-11-01, 12:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I was looking for a possibility to show a description for a video file in the core video library (Slick skin). Just the way it is done for recordings for example. I found that there is the possibility to create a .xml file with same name as the video file. For now I only have some tags i can you there: FullTitle, LocalTitle, ProductionYear, RunningTime, Description and Genre.

Is there somewhere a complete description of those files and what content is possible (and I just did not find). Or if not, can someone help me to complete the list of possible tags.

  wont change channels correctly
Posted by: kf7nn - 2009-10-31, 08:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

i have a happauge 1600 card and am using IRblast to change channels.
I can change channels fine in timeshift mode or realtime. the system gets it EPG thru xml and noticed that some channels say "no details" like the scifi channel. if i schedule a show that does not say " no details" then it punches
in the correct channel and records ok but if I schedule a show on scifi channel it trys to go to channel 9857 when it should go to 244 (direct tv) and alot of times the direct tv receiver turns off . its driving me crazy.
