Cannot Record New Versions of a Series
Posted by: SilverTiger - 2022-11-04, 03:28 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (4)

OK, so I want to record upcoming NEW editions of Yellowstone on Paramount Network.  The series starts November 13 at 8PM.  This show is marked as new in the guide.  I use schedules direct.  I can see no way to record only new versions using "Record Series", so I have used ADVANCED in the past and selected RECORD SERIES (New Episodes).  This just will not work with this particular show.  I tried it on an another arbitrary series and it DID work.  Now, I can work around this for this show by recording only the one show, but that's not what I want to do.  There are no conflicts.

Libreelec 11.0 Alpha NextPVR Guide disappears
Posted by: statomm - 2022-11-04, 12:36 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (11)

I recently purchased a new computer to run Libreelec but have to run the Alpha version 11.0 since 10.0 will not boot (needs a newer kernel). I am having problems with the nextPVR client epg disappearing after a few seconds.

Running Libreelec 11.0Alpha and nextPVR client 20.3.0.2

Add permission fix for dvb devices to docker image?
Posted by: soosyboosey - 2022-11-03, 11:13 PM - Forum: Docker arm32v7 - No Replies

Could this permission fix be added to the docker image for dvb devices? It's a commit from the linuxserver.io images but the script should theoretically work for this docker image too

(Permission fix) https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-tvheadend/pull/137/files

Currently I have a systemd oneshot service chowning /dev/dvb recursively to the user (it runs as an ExecStartPre action when I start the service for my container) that my podman containers run under (while I am using podman most stuff is interchangeable anyway so it doesn't make a difference really which one you are using), but this would be nice to make sure it works without external intervention for userspace containers

Complete EPG Listings Missing for One Channel for UK OTA
Posted by: latenighter - 2022-11-03, 06:58 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (20)

(As advised by mvallevand creating a new thread as this issue was originally thought related to https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...117&page=2 but may not be.)

Symptoms are that the EPG listings for Channel 5 in the UK are completely missing from the NPVR TV Guide.  Whenever an EPG update is run, scheduled or ad-hoc, only "now and next" EPG entries are created.

Only the one channel seems to be affected for OTA EPG updates.  Counterpart channels Channel 5 HD and Channel 5 +1 have complete listings for the full 7 day period the EPG update is for as is the case for all other channels on all muxes.

The attached logs were obtained with the <ExtendedLogging> option set to true and were taken ~20 seconds after the relevant frequency scan in the EPG update had completed.  With my rudimentary knowledge the log seems to indicate that the system thinks it stored 340 events for "Channel 5" but only a "now and next" seemed to be stored.  This is shown in the attached screenshots (system restarted at 19:07 on 31-OCT-2022 with the EPG Update requested immediately afterwards) the "A" .jpg shows the "now and next" for Channel 5 and the "B" screenshot for the following day shows no listings for Channel 5.  Other devices at home (eg. TV) show a full schedule for Channel 5 so the data would seem to be in the mux stream which the "340 events" entry in the log would support.

  Linux, LibreElec and CoreElec
Posted by: mvallevand - 2022-11-03, 04:31 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (1)

With help from @ceejayemm I have updated the NextPVR wiki instructions for installing NextPVR on various Linux platform https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/Install-Linux  The other announcement post for the deb installer will now only be used to announce new releases.

Also of note is the NextPVR Server has now been released as a package for LibreElec 11.  Packages for LibreElec 10 and CoreElec 19/20 should be appearing soon too.  On these platforms installing NextPVR Server can be performed with just a remote control.   This might be the easiest way to install NextPVR for Linux on an older x64 Intel/AMD PC or laptop, an RPi, or many other Android TV boxes and single board computers.

The wiki should be the definitive source for information and it should be used before following suggestions in other forum posts.  Please let me know of any errors.

Good news for UK Freesat users!
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2022-11-03, 08:35 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (1)

From 1st Nov ITV2 HD, ITV3 HD, ITV4 HD are no longer encrypted!

'ITV2 HD' is on 11.053 H, 23.000, 3/4, DVB-S2, 8PSK.

'ITV4 HD' is on 11.067 V, 23.000, 3/4, DVB-S2, 8PSK.

'ITV3 HD' is on 11.097 V, 23.000, 3/4, DVB-S2, 8PSK.

BBC1 HD was supposed to be regionalised by the  end of the year. However all the local studios have to be updated to HD equipment which is expensive so may be delayed!

  Migrate recordings to new Drive?
Posted by: three6zerocool - 2022-11-03, 02:06 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (8)

Hello, I have been running NextPVR latest version, and due to drive failure, I have invested in a NAS.
Due to the drive failure, I actually lost the majority of my tv recordings. (as I use external USB 3 drive for recording, which upon hindsight probably was not the best idea)

I do have a few new shows I have recorded recently tho, and wondered the best way to move those recorded tv shows to the NAS?

Or do I just start from scratch again, and define new paths to the NAS in NextPVR, and then carry on as per normal.

I take it backing up my database is not that useful, as it will still point to the original drive location?

  Linux IR blaster solutions?
Posted by: greatwhitenorth - 2022-11-02, 07:47 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (2)

Wonder what Linux working solutions others are using to do IR channel changing on a satellite (or other) box? My attempts so far include LIRC (which seems headed for obsolescence) and a side trip to explore adb control of my providers android streaming app where I found my provider only allows access to a small subset of my subscription in the app.

Currently I have an MCE (HP/Fintek) transceiver and tried lirc. I can receive commands, which I don't need, but not blast, which I do need for controlling 2 boxes.

Options I am considering so far are:
- setting up a Raspberry Pi 1 or 2 as a networked IR blaster for lirc following the available tutorials.
- using a microcontroller to do the blasting which would require more development but gives total control.

All options require some scripting and is all part of the hobby.

I have done many google searches on Linux IR blasting and most seem to end with a lack of success, so what are others using?

  Tuner Advice
Posted by: pg33 - 2022-11-02, 07:39 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hello,

I am looking to build a media PC featuring DVR functionality via NextPVR. However, I am having trouble trying to find info on compatible tuners... or should I say compatible features of tuners.

In short, I need to know whether the HDHomerun Flex DUO and HDHomerun Scribe 4K are compatible without the SiliconDust subscription service (kind of the point of OTA vs cable).

Thanks

Movie VOD Listings without movie title
Posted by: nonuoha - 2022-11-02, 01:43 AM - Forum: Linux - Replies (10)

Hi,

I reloaded my IPTV movie VOD URL after upgrading to the latest server application, but movie listings show numbers instead of movie title.  Please see uploaded VOD screenshot.

Thanks!
