  HDHomeRun No Channels Found ATSC
Posted by: jjuhl - 2009-10-11, 02:43 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (21)

No Channels Found in Digital Channel mapping.

Just upgraded from 1.3.11 to 1.4.7 (did not work in either)

Have used the current hdhomerun 20090830 and the beta 20090923beta2

Windows firewall exceptions for config pvrx2 and GBPVRRecordingService.exe . Have also turned the firewall off.

Ran the HDHomerun setup program and have, what seem to be, correct entries in bda.ini

Installed MpaDecFilter.ax & Mpeg2DecFilter.ax and have run Re-register filters.

Any help would be appreciated.

  Recordings don't start...
Posted by: philly_phenom - 2009-10-10, 11:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

I upgraded to 1.4.7 a little over a week ago & have had two instances where recordings would not start (seemed like none of the tuners would respond) & I had to restart the recording service.

The latest instance was just before 1930 EDT. I tried to watch the ball game, but selecting "watch" just kicked me back to the guide. I then tried "quick record", but it just showed "Pending" and would not start recording.

As soon as I restarted the recording service, it started recording.

Other than that, 1.4.7 has behaved fine.

  Problems with HVR-1600/Asus AH3450 Setup
Posted by: gpgyo - 2009-10-10, 11:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I've used GB-PVR for a couple of years but just upgraded hardware. Before, I used a PVR-150/MediaMVP setup. I had few problems but some limitations, which is the reason for the upgrade. Now I'm using a Hauppauge HVR-1600 (PCI) for capture and an Asus (ATI Radeon) AH 3450 (AGP) for TV out.

The cable box (Scientific Atlanta 3250HD from Comcast) is connected to the HVR-1600 by coax (and also to the receiver by component cable for watching TV directly from the cable box.) The AH3450 is connected to the receiver by HDMI cable.

The GB-PVR box has an AMD 3000+ XP with 1GB of memory and a fresh install of Windows XP Pro SP3 plus all Windows updates. GB-PVR version is 1.4.7. The latest WinTV7 was installed for the most current drivers for the card and for the IR blaster. ATI CCC 9.9 is installed with the AGP hotfix. I've also installed and unlocked Hobring's SAF codec pack but in the GB-VPR config, all audio and video codecs have been reset to system default.

On the capture sources tab, the Recording Source is set to "Analog Recording Plugin". I've tried others, but this is the only setting that gives me the option to set the Source to "Fixed Channel, External Tuner" (Tuning is set to "Cable" and Constant Channel to "3".) Since I'm no longer using the MediaMVP, I hope to use the HVR-1600's IR blaster to change the channel on the cable box.

Here's the problems I can't figure out:

1. Neither Live TV nor TV Guide work. When either is selected by either the keyboard or mouse, nothing happens. Live TV works in WinTV (set to channel 3.) I've tried every Video Renderer option. My EPG source is Schedules Direct. As best I can tell everything there is set up correctly. (When I manually update the listing, all the right boxes pop up for the right amount of time and I don't get any error messages.) All other options (Video Library, Setting, System, Exit, etc.) respond when selected as expected.

2. Screen changes from pressing a key on the keyboard or double clicking with the mouse sometimes (~10% of the time) take a long time (30+ seconds) for the screen to respond. I have noticed that if I move the mouse the screen will respond immediately. If this won't happen when (if) I use the remote with the IR blaster, this is less of a concern.

3. Audio studders. I tried to play an AVI file from the video library with heavy studdering for 3+ minutes before I turned it off. I opened the file in Windows Media Player 11 and the sound was fine.

4. Not exactly GB-PVR related, but I cannot get Hauppauge's IR blaster to work with my cable box. There is not an option for the Scientific Atlanta 3250HD. There is one for the 3250 but it does not work. If anyone knows which code to use, please post. If all else fails, I'll just the use the learn function.

I've have searched extensively in this forum and elsewhere for solutions but come up empty. If you can help with any of these problems or point me in the right direction, I would be most grateful.

Thank you.

some .avi in sync, others not?
Posted by: szkoda - 2009-10-10, 09:56 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

When I playback .avi files on my MVP some of them play with the audio/video in sync, whereas others do not. Why is this?

They all play fine on the computer so I assume there is nothing wrong with the actual hardware, maybe its the way some films are encoded?

Any help would be much appreciated

PVRX2 holding 100% of cpu, just started today.
Posted by: psycik - 2009-10-10, 09:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Weird, start pxrx2 and it holds about 100% of the cpu for a couple of minutes.

Here' is the log as it starts, as far as I can tell, the high cpu usage is during loading of the tv guide (even though i haven't activated it).

So even though I'm 10 mins in to watching something the cpu is still running at 100%.

  Net radio - no sound
Posted by: MeekMaster - 2009-10-10, 05:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Hi guys, as the thread title suggests I have no audio when using net radio. All other functions work flawlessly. I am using a HD-PVR and I get livetv, and recording playback all with sound.

When I play net radio i can see that there is an mp3 file generated in my recordings folder that plays fine when opened manually. I have tried reassociating mp3 files with wmp, and tried running the reregister filters bat file. I am running 1.4.7 currently, however, net radio did not work on my last version either, 1.3.7 I believe it was.

Ive attached a sample of the mp3 it creates, my logs and my config.xml in the zip file. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

  Freeview Radio
Posted by: hansol123 - 2009-10-10, 04:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Now that we can record BBC Freeview radio stations such as radio 4 is there a simple method of converting the files to mp3 for playback on Ipods etc.

In the past I have been using the radio plugin but the lack of the EPG was always a problem.

Thanks for your assistance

  Schedules Direct
Posted by: dalokgawd - 2009-10-10, 03:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

I signed up for a Schedules Direct account and am trying to download listings to GBPVR, but when I try to update the EPG I get a really big error message that doesn't make much sense to me. The only posts I have been able to find about schedulesdirect on GBPVR's forums and schedulesdirect's forums don't seem to be much help.

I have attached a screenshot of the error. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

QAM Scan using HDHR Silicon Dust Site - dissappeared
Posted by: tonyimp - 2009-10-10, 02:48 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

The new QAM scan is GREAT. It makes the whole mapping process so much easier.
The down side is that I do not know how to re-launch the process that bangs my zip code up against the scanned ATSC frequencies on the Silicon Dust site.
It worked once, during the initial scan. And it was useful. So i closed conifg, basked in the glow of correctly mapped HD channels for about thirty seconds. Then I re-opened config, and the old, un-helpful ATSC frequencies had replaced the user readable channel names that were present in the previuous session of config.
Everything is working - I think I just need to re-fire the "QAM Scan" again. I have tried rescanning, and can't get the QAM scan to appear.
I am guessing that it sees that the channels have already been mapped so it does not try to update them.

Any advice on how to run this manually?

Thanks Sub, et al - love the 1.4.7. I just hope that Comcast is not in a hurry to start encrypting their clear qam after their digital change over.
Tony
