movies play on local machine with pvrx2 but not on mvp
Posted by: medic29 - 2009-10-11, 10:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Just wondering if anybody could shed some light on this scenario.
Attempt to play an avi file with my MVP. Within 1 second the MVP crashes back to the mvpmc boot screen. But... if I log on to the PVR server, launch pvrx2 I see ffdshow popup and the movie starts playing!
The only option I could think of that would influence this is the "interact with desktop" option. I already had this turned on.

I have ffdshow installed plus the SAF codecs pack Soborg created.

I looked at the confix.xml file and I can still see references to zprocess (which I have not installed) I don't know enough about this to edit the config file properly or I would. Although I don't know why that would make a difference if the local machine can play them and the mvp can't.

I have included logs and the config file for any who are interested.

Thanks

I am running into an issue accessing the admin or admin2.aspx page. guide, manage and other tabs show up fine regardless of css or not, but I just can't get to the admin area.

Any ideas?

  Windows 7 64 won't record
Posted by: StanO - 2009-10-11, 09:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I've searched and no luck! This is the story, I installed 1.0407 and 1.0311 with the same results.

First, I have a HVR-1600 with FIOS. Digital QAM and a SD STB. Every time I install I have gotten everything working where I can watch any current program, but nothing will record. I ran it in XP compatibility mode and that did nothing. It will pretend to record, turn red and use the tuner, but their is no file (yes the directories are set up).

I'm not new to GBPVR so I don't think I missed anything obvious.

Second, no sound on digital channels no matter what I change, picture is fine, just no sound. Fyi, system was doing pretty well under XP, also HD recording and playback is excellent with Media Center.

Several Clear QAM Digital Channels suddenly won't record or display
Posted by: mian - 2009-10-11, 08:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

... Except in the digital channel mapping utility. If I try to play live TV for NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, The CW or pBS digital, then either nothing displays or a no signal prompt comes up requesting that I check the connections and signal strength--scheduled recordings come up as 0kb files. 4 or so other QAM digital channels still come in as clear as always, though I think all those working digital channels transmit SD digital, as opposed to all the listed ones that transmit HD digital. It has been this way for 4-5 days.

Since the last time this worked (earlier this week) I have not:
* made any significant software changes (I installed Google earth yesterday, but the problem preceded that by several days. I installed Hulu desktop recently, though I don't recall exactly when--and that's it.)
* made any changes to GBPVR settings or installed a new version
* added or taken anything away from my home's cable connections, everything that was plugged into a cable port last week is still plugged in and nothing new has been plugged in and no add'l splits have been added anywhere.

Since it stopped working, I have:
* Confirmed that all the non-working channels are still selected in at least one digital tuner
* Confirmed that the mappings are still correct in the digital channel mapping utility (GBPVR Config -> Capture Sources -> Edit (for a digital tuner) -> map digital channels to EPG Channels -> Scan, preview).
* Listened carefully to the audio during the mapping previews to hear any distortion (none so far), and watched for pixelization or skips, which would be hard to spot given how scrunched the preview window is, but I haven't noticed anything unusual
* Checked my cables to make sure they are tight and properly attached.
* Confirmed that all three tuners work perfectly fine on analog channels
* restarted both the recording service and my PC several times with no change in result
* temporarily removed the splitter that splits the wall cable to my Convertx and 2250 to see if going from the wall straight to the 2250 would all digital channels to come in: it doesn't

Admittedly, during the scan, it shows a Strength of -20 and Quality of 100 (the strength certainly sounds low), but the preview sounds and looks clear and strong. Also admittedly, my neighborhood is seeing some new home construction occur in nearby vacant lots as well as some recently built homes probably just getting cable--so there might be some reason to suspect signal strength drop from something done outside my house.

What I don't understand is why the mapping utility will play the channels but PVRx2 and the recording service won't. I can't call my cable company until tomorrow anyway, so I thought I'd fish for suggestions.

My system specs in my sig is up to date, same tuners, same drivers, same GBPVR install. My next steps if you all have no ideas are to 1) upgrade my 2250 to the latest 27223 driver at hauppauge 2) remove all digital mappings, save, rescan and remap to the epg 3) reinstall GBPVR or upgrade it.

Thanks.

Comskip / Comclean with 1080i mpeg & h264 .ts files
Posted by: exiton - 2009-10-11, 05:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hey guys,

I've been using GB-PVR for a while, and have always had great success with analog 480i using a combo of comskip / comclean. I've got a HDHomeRun (Mpeg2) and a HD-PVR (h264) in my system, and haven't been able to get comskip / comclean working with those 1080i .ts files. I know to get comclean support with h264, you have to make a donation, and I will once I get it working with standard HD mpeg2 1080i .ts files.

I know I'm not passing the .ts file name through to comclean3.bat, but not sure how do to that. Anyone have any tips or corrections to get it working with .ts files?

Thanks!

Postprocessing.bat

Code:
@echo off echo Postprocessing.bat invoked on %1 recorded from channel %2 >>postprocessing.log comskip %1 call Comclean3 %1 >>Comclean.log 2>>Comclean.err IF EXIST "%~dpn1.info" DEL"%~dpn1.info" IF EXIST "%~dpn1.txt" DEL "%~dpn1.txt" IF EXIST "%~dpn1.log" DEL "%~dpn1.log" IF EXIST "%~dpn1.edl" DEL "%~dpn1.edl" IF EXIST "%~dpn1.logo.txt" DEL "%~dpn1.logo.txt" IF EXIST "%~dpn1.mpg" goto mpg IF EXIST "%~dpn1.ts" goto ts :mpg echo %1 is an MPG File >>postprocessing.log IF EXIST "%~dpn1_clean.mpg" del "%~dpn1.mpg" IF NOT EXIST "%~dpn1.mpg" MOVE "%~dpn1_clean.mpg" "%~dpn1.mpg" goto continue :ts echo %1 is an TS File >>postprocessing.log IF EXIST "%~dpn1_clean.ts" del "%~dpn1.ts" IF NOT EXIST "%~dpn1.ts" MOVE "%~dpn1_clean.ts" "%~dpn1.ts" goto continue :continue WizRenameRecording "%~f1" "{show}{[ - ]}{episode}{[ - ]}{month}{[-]}{day}{[-]}{yearShort}" :eof

comclean3.bat

Code:
"C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\me\MPlayer-1.0rc2\mencoder.exe" "%~dpn1.mpg" -edl "%~dpn1.edl" -oac copy -ovc copy -of mpeg -o "%~dpn1_clean.mpg"

  Video sputters after standby
Posted by: wesmapes - 2009-10-11, 04:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have noticed that when I come out of standby mode the video "sputters". I can reboot and all is ok. I thought it was a memory issue so I upgraded to 2 gb.

Then realized that if all is working fine I can go to standby and then right back out and it sputters again. I just upgraded to 1.4.7 today and it still does it. Any ideas?

  Anysee E30C Plus?
Posted by: wsmaal - 2009-10-11, 11:03 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

As you probably know Digital Everywhere has been stopped the production/support for the FireDTV (and FloppytDTV) products..

In this list I read that the Anysee E30 plus DVB-T USB is confirmed working. Is there anybody who can confirm that the Anysee E30C plus (for NL/digital Cable/Ziggo) is an alternative for FireDTV and is working well in combination with GB-PVR?

Simultaneous Recording from multiple capture sources.
Posted by: seymoria - 2009-10-11, 10:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (23)

Hello everyone.

I have successfully installed GBPVR and tuned all the channels through the tuning assistant.

I have installed three Hauppauge PVR 150 cards in my 3 PCI slots.

I then went to GBPVR config and then to 'Capture Sources' menu.

I then added 3 capture sources and named them Card1, Card2 and Card3.

In the 'settings' menu of each capture source, I selected Capture Device #1, #2 and #3 for the corresponding Board Numbers.

I also added channels for each capture source.

Now, I want to know how to record simultaneously from 3 different channels through the 3 different capture sources.

Dont know how to select them individually from the Recordings Menu / Manual Rec menu in the GBPVR Main Window.

I understand that GBPVR supports more than 2 tuners in one machine.

Thank you for the kind guidance.

Best Regards.
Amer

  Silicon Dust channel mapper tool
Posted by: ram4x4nut - 2009-10-11, 09:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Is there any way to run this manualy rather than have to scan again? It found a bunch of channels I wasn't aware of and I need to activate them in Schedules Direct. When I go back into mappings the only ones that retained channel names were th ones I mapped, all the others that had channel names before are now just back to freq numbers.

  One recording fine another disappeared?
Posted by: Warwick - 2009-10-11, 06:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Latest version GBPVR, Windows 7, Nova S USB. Record to .TS autoconvert to Xvid and comskip

Set to record freeview prime rugby twice now and have returned to find a empty folder in the save directory. Tried manually recording Prime and records fine, coverts to Xvid and runs comskip. The only thing I can think of is the rugby recordings will be several GB and the file size is an issue somewhere.

100's of GB free on the drive and 4Gb system memory so won't be a hardware limitation. Log seems to show everything went fine??
