I've been using XPMCE for years with a PVR500. I just bought an HDHR and have it set-up and working w/ XPMCE. I also have an A100 Popcornhour which is used to stream DVD ISOs, recorded TV, steraming Netflix eic to the Master BR. But... I want a better setup and am checking out GBPVR and (gasp) SageTV.
Sage setup was easy, but I'm balking at the cost of sw licenses, and their extenders. I like that they have both linux and windows solutions that will run on a dedicated headless linux or WHS server.
Ok, back to GBPVR. I'd love my NMT to be what I know it can be w/ GBPVR and want to give GBPVR a whirl, but I've been frustrated finding all the right info I need to get my HDHR set up for clear QAM. Please point me to the right guides or forum posts, Thanks
I have a functional GBPVR Server configured with two Hauppauge HVR-1600 cards configured to receive QAM channels from Comcast Cable. In that server I've successfully mapped about 80 channels on both cards.
I'm now attempting to configure a different PC to receive QAM from Comcast using a USB Hauppauge HVR-950q. (no spare PCI slot.) Channel scans fail on this PC. (note - survival guide files are installed) When the frequency displayed during the scan reaches 46/47 the config.exe program hangs. Task Manager reports that config.exe is not responding. Terminating config.exe will remove the window, but the program will not terminate. No data is recorded in the scan-1.cache file. A user log-off is needed to terminate the program.
Please advise on how I should proceed. Are there issues with this video converter?
Thank you

What do I need to get GBPVR to wake up to record a show?
My pc goes to hibernate after 20 minutes. I set a recording but GBPVR didn't wake up to record a show. Do I need additional files?
I'm doing some research on video and cloud computing and I could use a collection of U.S. cable tv listing files (xmltv or any other well known format) that span a chunk of time (ideally the months leading up to now or all of 2008). If you have any you care to share, drop me message at dcc@videointhecloud.com.
My liveTV seems to work just fine, however i cannot play any recordings, even though they work in VLC. Im not sure what the issue is but i was playing with ChannelLogoTool to install some logos and i find that it doesnt work when i tried playing back some recordings, both analog and digital. Here are the logs from watching LiveTV and after trying to playback a recording. Thanks
What is the best video card to use with gbpvr? Both cards I used have had problems. My one card sometimes does not record shows unless I select "Restart recording service". My other card sometimes messes up the sound and all I hear is very loud static. Can anyone recommend a decent card that will work great with GBPVR?
Is it supported by 1.4.7? Im not getting the channel logos to show up. THey are the exact same name, as the channel (for example 39 History or 109 WITIDT i shouldnt have to append the .jpg file extension should i?
I recently purchased a Hauppauge 1250. i plugged it in, pressed the power button, and the computer had a long beeeep. no video, no boot. When i remove the card, computer boots fine. What's the problem here? Yes, i have it in a PCI-Express slot. The computer i'm using is one i home built. What's going on??
Whenever I turn on my pc after a cold boot I get only a black screen when I click on Live TV. The strange thing is that this only happens when my pc has been off for a while.
If I go to config to check if my tuners are picking up the channels I can see the channels working.
If I bring my computer back from hibernate this doesn't happen.
