Clicking on a file name in My Copmputer opens GBPVR but not the file
Posted by: htpc newcomer - 2009-09-24, 09:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

When I list all of the files on the hard drive that contains my recorded programs (videos) and click on a file name GBPVR opens but has to be prompted once again from within the software to play the file. This works differently than the other pvr software I've used such as Windows Media Center and Media Player Classic. When these software programs are set to open their file types (dvr-ms etc.) the software opens and then proceeds to play the file. This doesn't happen with GBPVR. The program starts and then I have to go into the video directory in order to play the file. Is there a way in which I can get GBPVR to both open and play the file following a single click on the file name in "My Computer?" By the way, I'm using Vista.

Recordings work but LiveTV does not from gbpvr pc client
Posted by: usctrojan - 2009-09-24, 05:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have gbpvr running on a WHS server with gbpvr client on a windows 7 pc.

I can see the recordings from PVRX2 and even livetv when I use streaming. However, they stutter a lot.

When I try Filesharing, I am able to view the recordings but not LiveTV. I get a blank screen and PVRx2 goes back to the TV Guide.

I can actually goto the shared folder from windows and click and view the small clip in the live buffer directory using Windows Media Player so the file permissions must be okay?

I cannot see anything in the logs but here is a snippet:

  Studders and Timestamp
Posted by: cgilson33 - 2009-09-24, 03:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I had heard of others having a problem with the timestamps showing an hour long show as like 99 days long, but i hadn't had the problem until recently.
Along with this there is some glitching when watching the files, it glitches about every 2-3 sec.

So I got on here to read about how to fix the issue and I saw that 1.4.7 was released.
I downloaded and installed and still have the same problem
With recordings from both before and after the new install.

Also even if the timestamp issue isn't seen the recording still glitches or freezes about every 3 seconds

Any ideas?
I know I should upload a clip but I cannot right now, maybe tonight.
BTW how do I do that?
Oh and what files do I need to upload for troubleshooting again?

Thanks

  The David Box
Posted by: fering - 2009-09-24, 02:13 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

As somebody who is on the verge of buying a NMT device, what does this new developer program The David Box mean for the existing MVPMCX2 emulation mode on NMT devices? Are they opening up their APIs which will lead to a better integration of GBPVR? Will this be back ported to the existing NMT devices?

Should I be putting off my purchase until Syabas releases the "next generation platform"?

Just when I thought it was safe to make the change from MVP to NMT they throw this in the works...

  Supports GBpvr the E-great EG-M34A???
Posted by: hvannieu - 2009-09-24, 02:04 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Hello Guys,

Is there somebody the can tell me of GBpvr supports the E-great?
I read on forums different message about it. Works great the other see works not or bad. I have already buy a E-great NMT today.
Is there any manual or setup note for the E-great. At the GBpvr wiki state a instruction for the Popcorn NMT.
I hope so that the E-great also works fine with GBpvr.

Have somebody experience or deal with it?

Regards,

Hugo

  HDPVR and stopped recordings
Posted by: tvshowman - 2009-09-24, 01:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi Sub,

I just wanted to report this coincidence.

Lastnight i was recorrding many shows without problem. I went into the guide and decided to cancel an upcoming show and didn't think much of it. I realized 10 minutes later that the light on the HDPVR was off so I thought hey that is short?? I went into the recordings menu and pvrx2 claims it is still recording and I checked the file and it was not getting bigger. I thought the HDPVR had crashed so I turned the power off and on again and went to bed. All my recordings went fine lastnight and when I woke up I thought maybe I triggered something in the guide? I was recording something I didn't want to lose but I thought I will give it a try as it was a long shot anyway/. So I went into the guide and removed some up coming recordings and nothing happened. All was fine so I forgot about it and 10 minutes later I realized the HDPVR light was out and the unit stopped recording and was reported to be recording in the recordings menu.

I tried to record a show in progress and cancel upcoming recordings and so far it is recording fine. I thought I should report it just in case.

Cheers

  FiOS setup configuration with PVRX2
Posted by: Kid_Ego5150 - 2009-09-24, 12:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I've had my system working with PVRX2 and FiOS before but due to an intersting story involving a house flood I've just now started to re-setup my htpc in my theater room after it being dismantled for 5 months and have run into a problem. I can only view one channel in live TV (channel 3) via the FiOS STB (Motorolla QIP2500-3). Whenever I change the channel in PVRX2, the blaster sends the correct info to the STB to change channels but all I get is static. I do however get the correct audio for the channel though. The weird part is that if I change the channel back to channel 3 the static goes away and is replaced with the video for the channel I'm now leaving just before it switches to the next channel. Am I missing a config point or a setup feature somewhere that I just don't remember? I'm running fresh install of v1.4.7 onto a Hauppage PVR150. FiOS set up is coax from the wall to STB and coax out to PVR. EPG is fully updated too. Thanks for suggestions and help.

  MVP accessuble audio
Posted by: idkpmiller - 2009-09-24, 11:27 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

I am enjoying using the WEB Radio plugin, however I really need to have the capability to use it on my MVP. I have never been fond of UBUStream no offense, just doesn't hit the spot for me.

Therefore I am trying to understand the technique I would need to employ to say use VLC and then save it on the GBPVR server or better still stream directly to MVP. can someone shed some light...

Thanks

EDIT alternatvely web radio being updated to support MVPO would be cool :-)

Analog and Digital Tuner Not in Sync
Posted by: Hodr - 2009-09-24, 03:06 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

So, I have worked my way through several versions of GB-PVR, on several versions of windows, and I think that I am getting to be pretty proficient at setting it up.

That said, my last setup (Hauppauge 2250 on a Windows 7 Machine) seems to be giving me some problems.

I can record 2 digital shows at once, I can record 2 analog shows at once, and sometimes I can record one analog and one digital.

But twice now, for some reason I cant explain, digital tuner 1 and analog tuner 1 decide to record shows at the same time (while digital 2, and analog 2 do nothing). From this point on they continue to do so whenever there is both an analog and a digital show being recorded.

In each case the digital show gets recorded, and the analog program does not.

I have checked and re-checked the configuration. The digital tuners are set as Hauppauge 2250 (QAM) devices 1 and 2, and the analog tuners are set to use Hauppauge 2250 devices 1 and 2.

I am using the newest version of GB-PVR, and I am running the newest drivers for my video capture card.

Everything else seems to be working perfectly.

Do you guys have any idea what the problem may be?

I wasn't sure which files you would ask for, so I grabbed all of my logs and my ini files, as well as config.xml)

Thanks.
