  Windows 7 H.264
Posted by: skhills - 2009-09-25, 05:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Out of the box, Windows 7 MC plays h.264 encoded mp4 files for me, but I don't get any video playing back the same file in GBPVR with the h.264 decoder set to the Microsoft version. Anyone had any luck playing back h.264 files with Win7 without installing a separate codec pack?

  Live-tv decrypting, recording not
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2009-09-25, 04:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (46)

Why isn't GbpvrRecording Service decrypting an encrypted channel while recording, but Pvrx2 works nicely?

Easy way to remove "Failed" recordings
Posted by: eradicator - 2009-09-25, 11:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I seems to have numerous failed recordings from when things were scheduled but the pc was either not on or gbpvr was not running. There are probably over 100 entries.

Is there an easy way to remove these? I can just click, confirm delete but this will take a while and would mean going in to each show on the list.

I have seen some mention of running "scripts" but I would have no idea how to do so. I am computer inclined so if someone wants to give a run down I can probably follow.

Thanks!

Haupage remote or Universal remote with Usbuirt?
Posted by: David.Skinenr - 2009-09-25, 05:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have a PVR 150 with cable box being controlled by a UsbUiart. The only two external infrared signals I need in addition are TV on/off and Volume control of the external audio amplifier. Is there a way of configuring USBUIRT to reinterpret the volume and on/off button for the Hauppauge remote or do I have to go to a universal remote?

  Comskip trumps resume
Posted by: mvallevand - 2009-09-25, 04:37 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (3)

If the file has a comskip point at the beginning of the file, GB-PVR seems to be use that value to override a resume point. Is this the desired action? The attached log show the resume to 85 seconds immediately followed with a comskip request to go to 39 seconds.

  Change to the TS reader
Posted by: JonnyCam - 2009-09-25, 02:28 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hello,

Not sure if this is possible, or somethig you'd like to implement, but I'd like an option in config.xml which allows me to turn off the always connect a decoder to each audio / video stream in a TS file, rather than connecting each one at playback start.

I understand it allows for faster channel changes etc, but I don't use LiveTV, and I like to be able to upsample all of my recordings to DD 5.1 using AC3 filter, which leads to no sound due to the way the spdif out filter is inserted, and all three trying to control the output (I think)

Cheers

  Recording failing to start
Posted by: Pureskill - 2009-09-25, 01:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Tried searching the other threads but didn't see any thing that helped. For the most part recording that are scheduled work fine but there are times it just does not start. The one thing I noticed when looking over the log is that there always seems to be no log of when the recording failed. There seems to be nothing showing up in the event viewer that show any errors happening. I have the firewall disabled and the antivirus installed in avg.

  No Video in PVRX2 GUI
Posted by: TonySmith35 - 2009-09-24, 10:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

Hello All,
I have searched these blogs but cant seem to find someone with the same problems as I...
First, I am using two Hauppauge HVR 2250 internal tuners for a total of 4 analog tuners. I'm using GBPVR 1.4.7 and have updated to the newest Nvidia drivers for an FX 5200 along with the newest drivers for the Hauppauge cards (released in August 9, 09 I believe)
I am able to get all 4 tuners to record something, but PVRX2 gui doesnt ever show the video...will just show the metadata at the bottom of a black screen. I can change channels, just no video. Also, trying to play the recordings from the gui just makes the screen flicker a bit then revert back to the main screen. The .mpg files that are created can be played in VLC.
Any ideas? I tried to be as thorough as possible but if I am missing a key piece of info let me know!
Thanks!

hi, sounds like a similar problem to this post http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ck+startup

either using start_pvrx2.exe or shortcut in startup folder, pvrx2 has a black screen. if you have sounds enabled, you can hear the menu click etc. but can't see anything as below :

  what cable is this?
Posted by: clevemire - 2009-09-24, 09:21 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I think it came with my old PVR-150. Is it the ir blaster cable or the remote receiver? I've never used either, but am going to have to start using a STB. Googling for a picture is mostly resulting in a two-headed cable with this attachment and one other, that seems to be a receiver and a transmitter, so I'm not sure which one mine is.

If it's not the IR blaster one, I assume I lost it. Can I just order one from somewhere? Do I need a specific kind, or would any old cable off amazon that says it's an IR blaster or whatever work?

I'd test it out, but I don't have the box yet, and the one tv I still own doesn't work with any remote. Anyway, I'd like to minimize my downtime by ordering a cable in advance if I'm going to need it. Thanks in advance.
