Nova TD Tuner, records but no playback
Posted by: Kissack - 2009-08-26, 02:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

This has got the better of me (hence this post) and you guidance would be appreciated.

I have it (Haupauge WinTv Nova TD 500 Pci) installed and configured (as Hauppauge Nove TV Tuner 1 (and 2 seperately)).

DVB EPG loads and matches to found channels (East Midlands).

Recording occurs (TS files created in appropriately named folders)

However on selecting recordings for playback, and selecting play nothing happens. The box with 'play' button closes and leaves GBPVR at the program detials screen.

What should I check, try or alter next?

thanks
Allan

  Weird issue converting 1 specific show...Warehouse 13
Posted by: JasonB - 2009-08-26, 12:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

This isn't a real urgent issue or anything, I'm just curious if anyone is having the same problem. FYI, I'm using a PVR-150.

I've got GB-PVR configured to auto-convert my recordings to XVID, for use on my Samsung P3. Everything just works, and works great.

Everything that is except Warehouse 13. It converts to XVID just like the others, but the file size of the XVID is actually BIGGER then the original recording.

For example, my usual source recordings are ~2.6GB and convert down to somewhere in the ballpark of 500MB. Last nights episode of Warehouse 13 was ~2.6GB, and the converted file is ~2.7GB. I've even gone into the video library and forced a manual conversion and have the same results.

For now I'm just torrenting the new episodes as they become available but I'd love to figure out what it is.

Anyone else having an issue like this? I hesitate to think it's a configuration issue because ALL other shows work perfect.

Software CAM with USB cardreader option
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2009-08-26, 08:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Does anybody know of a SW CAM that can read the smartcard from a USB cardreader? I'v looked at PoorMansCam and some other but they all require a serial-port reader (RS232) and I have an USB reader.

I'm NOT looking for a cam that uses a keyfile to crack the encryption, but a SW CAM that can replace the add-on CI module for a digital DVB card.

  More lines in TV Guide?
Posted by: Deusxmachina - 2009-08-26, 07:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Would have thought this has come up, but I searched to no avail.

Are there any modifications or plugins that can put, say, 11 lines of channels in the TV Guide? Or maybe eight. How about eight?

And while I'm asking that, how the heck do you scroll sideways in the TV guide just using the mouse? I swear I've never seen that answered anywhere.

And how about Escaping/Go Back from the TV Guide using a limited remote control? Sub has said he tried to make everything work with just four arrows and an Enter button, but can you get out of the TV Guide that way? It seems Escape is quite impossible, Mr. Bond.

  Schedules Direct EPG issue
Posted by: kwijikh - 2009-08-26, 02:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I've been using GBPVR and Schedules Direct for a while. I recently moved and tried to set everything up for my new location but I seem to be having trouble. See attached screenshot of the error message that I get. Can anyone help?

Thank you much,
Kenneth

HVR-1950 Recording Problem - Device Set to PAL?
Posted by: Greg Smith - 2009-08-26, 12:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Yesterday, I recorded a TV program with the Hauppauge HVR-1950 and GBPVR. I played it back, and the recording had sound but had many coloured cubes in the picture and rolling lines. I watched a bit of live TV from my computer, too. Same problem. I then thought perhaps the cable signal was the culprit, so I checked another TV in the house. The channels all looked good. I then unhooked the cable from my HVR-1950 and tried the internal Hauppauge HVR-1600. It worked perfectly.

I then noticed something this morning when I played back the file and looked at its properties. Its dimensions are 720 x 576, which is PAL. I'm in NTSC land, and the device has always worked as it should. Could something have caused it to accidentally set itself to PAL?

  Multiple Clients / One Stream?
Posted by: JonnyCam - 2009-08-26, 12:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I don't think this is possible, but I'll ask anyway.
I have one input to an anlog capture card which is setup on it's own as AV1 on my guide.

If one client is watching this channel, can another client connect to the same TS or MPEG steam and watch at the same time?
This channel will never be watched by anyone on the server.

Automatic Update for BDA Channel Mappings
Posted by: Joesboat - 2009-08-25, 11:45 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (10)

I've been able to switch our GBPVR Server from analog to digital cable reception. The frequency mapping I figured out worked well for several days and then I found a TCM Move I recoreded ended up blank. Comcast had switched the frequency of that channel. I spent several hours figuring out that they had changed the mappings for about 12 channels. Then a few weeks later I had to again figure out which changes they made. Another lost recording and then 2 hours to fix. For long term practical use I will need an automated method of updating the GBPVR database.

I've began a study of the techniques needed for a program to automatically update the GBPVR SQLite 'Sourec_Channel_Mapping' table when Comcast makes changes to their frequencies. My thoughts are to monitor changes to a WEB site such as SiliconDust and initiate the update when a change is found.

I've resolved most issues, but have not yet found a method of calling the GBPVR Config routine to initiate a re-scan of the frequencies. I need help. Is there a method a program can to use?

Thanks for you help in advance. I'm new to GBPVR Interfacing. My goal is to create a functional program first, and then tackle the GBPVR interface to convert it to run as a GBPVR Utility.

Recommended Hardware to Replace TelstraClear Digital decoder
Posted by: David.Skinenr - 2009-08-25, 09:03 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

I'm brand new to this forum so please excuse any duplication from other members. I've been looking for a good PVR for some time as I have a large library on online video and keen to integrate this with TV.

I have digitial Telstraclear cable and am keen to integrate this. I understand that I need a DVB-C card and Iredeto Cam. Could someone recommend what hardware to purchase and ideally where from.

Regards.

something is creating rougue folders in skin2 folder
Posted by: gEd - 2009-08-25, 08:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (22)

Very minor problem:

Any ideas what might be causing these rogue (and empty) folders to be created in the gbpvr\skin2 folder. I generall use CS 4 but whatever is doing it, is also affecting the blue and slick folders.

Seems like someone has a "\" missing from their code somewhere
