Sabrent SAA1730 TV/FM analog only! - Got it working with plugin
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have tried to find explicit detail myself without success so excuse me if this is too elementary.
My task: To have the Software Recorder plugin appear as a selectable item in the config tool plugin screen for selection.
What I have done:
a) Downloaded the plugin, extracted from zip created a sub dir under plugin called legacy, copied extracted files into it.
b) Launched config tool, opened plugin tab.
c) Stared blankly at the list of plugins which look like the defacto set supplied with initial install.
d) fiddled for a long time trying to fathom how to get Software Recorder to show up in the list.
How do you add a downloaded plugin to the list?
--------------------------------------------------------------
Note: I know this is a legacy plugin but it looks like my only long shot to get my Analog TV/FM (Sabrent SAA7130 -WDM) to quasi work with the app. The app is brilliant so I am trying very hard.
v1.3.1249.0
there's a new set of MPC-HC codecs and player available...h264 is really sweet even on lesser cards now...and he got h264 working on intel G45! finally a xp solution..
all the codecs seem more efficient and smooth without glitches, even on my agp HD3450..
[which previously was bit glitchy, while HDx650s were perfect]
about a third of the time when watching timeshift tv, transition to a new show/new file will change from auto to fill aspect even tho still set on auto...
it usually happens more often on second show transition to new show, or after long pauses..
sometimes it won't even transition to new show, just black screen...
even on 30 min shows..plenty of hd space...
i just viewed the file in question from video library and it reads the aspect fine there..so not a file problem..so glitch in how it's read on reload only..
looks like it just can't read aspect info of next file even tho there's nothing i can see different about the files...even same show so would assume it's encoded same..[Cash Cab]
[this is on analog capture source, tho it doesn't seem to matter which hardware]
[look near end of logs]
otherwise everything's working perfectly...
any changes in upcoming release on the filters?
I just got this card and got it installed and everything, but When I run PVRx2.exe all i get is the sound for the channel. Video and audio comes in fine in WMC. Just wondering if I didn't set up something right or some other user error. I'm using XP SP3, and the newest GBPVR. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi all. I'm setting up two identical PVR boxes for my uncle: one for his den and one for his living room. Each has a 640 GB drive for recordings. What I'm wondering, is if each computer can act as a client to the other, making all recordings available on both, and making the available storage for all recordings over 1.2 TB. If this all goes well, I'll be setting up a similar system for myself. GB-PVR seems to like a great piece of software!
P.S. Is there an easy way to move recordings from one computer to the other? Say I record all my Futuramas between both boxes, but want to store them all on just the one?
I have a Nebula DigiTV digital terrestrial PCI card. I have installed GB-PVR and under settings I have it seeing the card, but it is not in the list for the tuning assistant .exe which I am assuming is what I use to tune the programme to the MUXâs. Am I barking at the wrong tree?
I expect when I have a quiet day tomorrow I will red the FAQ again and find something!
After being forced into going digital with Comcast, after they assured me 3 months ago that it wouldn't happen. I called them, got a STB and 3 DTA's. They assured me that was what I needed. I asked about my TV tuner cards and they again assured me that as long as they were digital and able to receive clear QAM channels that I would be covered.
So I bought two new tuner cards that receive digital and QAM, one new TV with a digital + QAM tuner and was happy as a clam thinking I was ready for their switchover. WRONG!!
They made the switch yesterday and my Two new Digital tuners and the new TV lost about half the channels it had, including the channels they told me would be available as clear QAM. I just get a picture of a Comcast box with a note telling me I'll be needing a STB to receive these channels.
I do get a lot of clear QAM channels, if you can call them that. 5 Spanish language channels. 4 history channels. 8 shopping channels. and more than a few duplicates of local network channels, none of it do I really care about.
After a call to Comcast this morning and talking to 3 different people and getting two different answers it seems like not all the channels on the basic/standard tier will be broadcast in clear QAM, unlike what I was told. Can you say pi**ed.
The end result is Verizon will be here Monday to install FIOS TV and I can kick Comcast to the curb, this was the absolute last straw with them.
Anyway, thanks for reading or not, but I feel better anyway!
I am running GBPVR on XP SP3. The windowed instance (and the actual monitor) are 4:3 where as the live TV looks to be wide.
I cant resize the window as it appears constrained to 4:3 and the paly back setting in config has no effect (at least to live TV, I cant check playback yet as that is not working and I am seeking advice in another post)
F7 changes the picture within the instance, but all options produce a compressed width picture.
Have I missed a setting somewhere or is this a restriction in GBPVR under XP?
