I was wondering if the decoding issues ahev been sorted with ATI yet?

I currently run a 8600GT, and it works fine - but it's really noisy.
I have a fanless HD3450 in a box somewhere, adn was wondering if it was worth swapping out?

(In particular, FreeviewHD decoding, I had problems with C4 and some SD channels)

I have just replaced my single tuner HVR-1250 with an Avermedia Duet. The Duet has two tuners on the card, and I've verified both work by installing the BeyondTV trial software. I've made the bda.ini changes recommended in this thread:

GB-PVR sees one of the two tuners, but not the other one. (can't view live TV while recording one program and can't record two programs at once.) I did notice that the TUNING_SPECIAL parameter is only in the QAM section. Is is as simple as adding the same to the ATSC section?

I installed a new Hauppauge 1250 yesterday to add on to my 1600 and 350 - and now when i try to run ir.exe i get 'failed to initialize infrared hardware' - anyone else run into this or know of a solution?

could someone outline the advantages of gbpvr compared to say the windows media center or mythtv on linux?

I might setup a htpc and am unsure as to which media centre software I should use.

An old problem has reared its head since I just rebuilt the PVR with a new motherboard and XP installation (see sig). And yes thanks, it now runs more smoothly, plays HD, and changes channels near instantly. Low powered Pentium M looked like a good way to go three years ago but it simply wasn't powerful enough.

I digress.

Following the new XP install, my Arcam learning remote displays the same problems as it did after initial install three years ago, but I can't remember how I fixed it nor does a search here reveal anything.

Problem: No two consecutive identical keypresses using the PVRX2 interface work - ie the first keypress works but the second doesn't.

Example: press UP, that works. Press UP again, nothing happens. But press DOWN, that works, press UP, that works, press UP again, nothing happens. Yet the Hauppauge remote works fine.

Hardware is a USB-attached Hauppauge-sourced IR dongle, tuners are a Hauppauge HVR-4000 and a Compro Videomate S350.

Yesterday I tried to record a half hour documentary "The Body Story" and got this strange behaviour in the enclosed log file.

1st Recording starts at 21:59:00 and stops at 21:59:25. It then starts a 2nd recording at 21:59:26. The first recording is zero bytes and the 2nd is half an hour of garbage that PVRX2 can't even playback.

I guess GBPVR decided to switch to the 2nd tuner on the HVR2200 for some reason. Does anyone know why?

Im thinking of purchasing a new PC & video card to get DVB-T. However the new video card (thinking of nvidia 9600GT) comes with DVI and my old PC only has component video.

It appears you can buy a convertor but you need to ensure that the dvi output is providing analogue composite signals.

Is this a user adjustable setting with most video cards or only a select few?
Any reccomendations? (going to buy new TV next year).

I never could get live tv to work using this program. I had it in my other pc and it didn't work. (the card itself works, I was using totalmedia 3.5) I figured "oh my cards probably not compatible" but as i've seen here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...S+PHC3-100 someone has gotten it to work. Now the problem I am having is when I click on Live TV the text just blinks. Nothing else happens. No error. Nothing. It just blinks. Totalmedia 3.5 loaded 1 time and it won't load anymore. I had problems with it on my other computer too. When it loaded that first time I saw it working fine. I can even load up the tuner on webcammax and see a picture fine (can't change the channel or hear anything) but i know it works. If anyone can help me I will greatly appriciate it. Thank you in advance.

I have installed GB-PVR but am having problems with video.

I got scanning to work - Initially it was giving errors about missing logo files in the folder "C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\media\ChannelLogos" which I found didn't exist, so I created an empty "ChannelLogos" folder and then it worked.

Now I am able to hear audio of live TV, but screen is black except for program information which does show.

I am running Windows XP SP3, using a Leadtek Dongle Gold USB TV Tuner.
I have selected Microsoft "MPEG Video Decoder" and Microsoft "MPEG Audio Decoder" in the Playback configuration settings. The other options I can select for video are "Nero video decoder" and "ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder", neither of which work.

I've been using mc2xml with GBPVR on my desktop system for a couple of years now with no problems at all. Yesterday I downloaded it again to use with GBPVR on my laptop and when I go to run it for the first time to configure it I get the error message in the command prompt window Error ....... : TCP 124363R 124356H

Can anyone offer any help here? I would really like to continue getting GBPVR set up on my laptop.
