  "Lock" dialog box
Posted by: Daldana - 2009-08-01, 03:28 AM - Forum: ZTools and UltraXMLTV - Replies (6)

Hi folks,

I've been using Ultra2-rc1 for awhile now without any problems, but the last couple of times I've tried to enhance the epg, I get a dialog box with the word "Lock". I try to close the box but it immediately comes back so I have to use task manager to shut down Ultra2. I use Schedules Direct for epg info and don't have any problem with the data that comes down, I just can't enhance it. Any ideas? Thanks.

Dave

Hey,
My EPG is in Hebrew and GBPVR is working fine with that, but the RSS show ??? instead of Hebrew in feeds.
Is there a way to get it to work?

a scheduled recording the computer should wakeup from standby?
A general setting that is, not per recording...

  Frustrated Newbie Needs Guidance ....
Posted by: amorg7777 - 2009-07-31, 10:27 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

During the past 7-8 years I have "burned-out" 3 DVRs (a Sony, Pani & Toshiba). Needless to say - I record and watch a lot of cable TV and movies. I am tired of purchasing a $ 600+ DVR every several years. My Toshiba just went out about 2 wks ago, along with about 16 "unwatched" shows.

I am a Network Systems Admin and have been working with PCs for about 15 yrs. I am ready to build my "own" DVR(PVR). I have a Dish Network HD box and a Samsung 52" LCD HD 1080i, 120 MHz flat panel (both less than 6 months old). So I got a "specially priced" Dell Vostro 420 tower, Quad Core/2.66 Ghz/1333 FSB/6 GB (800Mhz) DDR2 Memory, 256 ATI Radeon HD 3450, two - 250 GB SATA 7200RPM HDD, 16 DVD+/- RW Drive & WIN XP Pro SP3.

I realize this is an "overkill" but I do not want to "ever" have to purchase another DVR. All I want to do is to "record" off of my Dish box to my new Dell PC and then (at a later time) watch my shows/movies when I want to.
[I would like to out put from the PC to my Samsung using HDMI connection]

I want to use GBPVR software. The only other thing I need is a really good "video capture" card. Could someone give me a recommendation? And if I am missing or overlooking anything else - please let me know. Any and all suggestions or comment are welcomed !! TIA amorg7777

  UBUNTU as GBPVR NMT client
Posted by: cc1091 - 2009-07-31, 07:59 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (6)

I have a few older computers laying around the house gathering dust. I would like to convert one of them into a NMT like device running some flavor of Linux (because its free). Yes, I know about Mythbuntu, but for the sake of this thread, lets focus on a linux box that can act as a client to GBPVR set up elsewhere in your home.
First question:
I believe that this is possible, but I am not familiar with the inner workings of GBPVR. Does anyone know that this kind of set up is not Possible (or conversely, does anyone know absolutely that this kind of setup should work.

I am considering a PIII 800 machine using a 256MB video card with TV out. Ram is at 786Mb. 10Gb hard drive.

Any other discussion?

  What is the latest version?
Posted by: mpadilla2 - 2009-07-31, 03:38 PM - Forum: GameZone - Replies (2)

I downloaded the 2.4 version from the wiki but cannot download the 2.9.2 patch as it takes me to a login screen.

I also found 2.9.5 and 2.9.6 in this forum.

Should I use 2.4 with the 2.9.6 patch? Or should I be using 2.9.2 patch? If 2.9.2 patch can the wiki link be fixed to enable download?

Thank you,
mpadilla2

  Moviewiz Image Lookup Priority.
Posted by: JP23 - 2009-07-31, 02:56 PM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (25)

Hi,
I'm using the following settings (below) to point moviewiz to a directory containing art for some of my films. All the filenames in that directory are exactly the same as the names of the corresponding video file (except extension). On the 'Manage Content' tab, Image lookup is set to 'config order'.

However, when entries are automatically loaded from batch file, moviewiz is using images from yahoo. I would like it to always use the local file if available, and not even look for it online if it is found locally. Is there another setting I need to configure here?

TV guide becomes corrupt over time
Posted by: teookie - 2009-07-31, 12:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Anyone else having bogus channels popping up in the lineup? Every few months I have to go into config and uncheck boxes for bogus channels that popped up out of nowhere.

What I think is happening is MC2XML occasionally downloads a incorrectly formatted or otherwise flawed .xml file containing bogus channels. GBPVR then dutifully assigns the channels to a tuner - even though the channel does not exist.

Does this sound like a plausible explanation? Anyone else experiencing something similar? Is there a more stable tv guide fetcher I could be using?
