  Kaiser Baas USB (EMTEC)
Posted by: gf404 - 2009-07-30, 01:51 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

3 months ago I purchased two Digi-DVB USB dongles. Last week they BOTH failed within days of one another. These have been replaced by two Kaiser Baas single tuner USB sticks. The Kaiser Baas comes up in recording devices (show only installed devices) as an EMTEC and works fine for the 1st device.

The problem occurs when I try to configure the 2nd device. I either get a message that says GBPVR cannot find the device, or sometimes it just throws a debug screen when trying to initialise.

I do not have access to my logs at the moment, but will upload them when I get home.

In the meantime, has anyone else had similar problems with a 2nd device and the EMTEC device selection?

  EWA doesn't like renamed recordings
Posted by: philly_phenom - 2009-07-30, 12:08 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

I use a cron job to automatically cut commercials from my recordings & they get output as mpg2 transport streams.

This causes a problem with my PVR-500 captures since they are initially recorded as *.mpg

If I try to stream a file once it's been renamed, I get an error (because VLC can't find the mpg file). However, once I list the show in PVRX2 (after it's been renamed), then I can stream it as well since the GBPVR database has been updated.

  hvr 2250 issues
Posted by: imagn - 2009-07-29, 11:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have an hvr 2250 and 2 other tuners,

When testing out the new instalation of the 2250 i find i can not get it to record using both of the hvr 2250 tuners, when i schedule recordings it will use the other 3 tuners but not the second hvr 2250.

I disables all the other caputer sources and just used the 2nd 2250 tuner and it was fine by itself. I tried to set it as device 2 and device 1 and it still wont work

Logs are attached

EDIT: Problem solved not sure what did it but it all works well and was able to record nine shows at once in test, very nice work on this Sub, thanks

  Greetings from Montenegro, please help!
Posted by: ziggy1 - 2009-07-29, 10:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Dear sirs

Thank you so much for this great program.
I live in Montenegro, we do not have possibility
to use any of these advanced features like program
guide EPG...

Anyway, here is the problem...I use (excellent, I beleive)
Saaphire Theatrix 550 card and I would like to use external tuner from my old good Panasonic VHS, and to connect external signal via composite input. I just installed GBPVR, (latest) and everything looks fine, I have set-up capture sources I think correctly (no EPG, Analog Recording PlugIn-Composite...etc...). I have started then PVRX2 (main program)....and now...what to do?

How to set simplest manual recording from VHS (external tuner)?

I try to go on RECORDINGS "page", and select Manual Rec, but program set me back on main page, just like I select Main Menu. Also on other "tabs" of program, I was
unable to find any way to start (or set-up start-stop)
recording from VHS (tape and/or tuner).

Please, would you be so kind to give us small simple
tutorial how to perform simplest GBPVR action of
manual recording from VHS...without channel list, without
any of powerfull GBPVR function. Well, we really will be happy to use all these nice feature, but here we are very lucky just to have good signal...

Many thanks in advance, all the best.
Ziggy

GBPVR only using one HDHomeRun tuner?
Posted by: jjakober - 2009-07-29, 05:07 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

So I have my HDHomerun setup and properly scanning channels on both tuners in the GBPVR map channels config. The channels have been mapped and enabled.

The problem is, if I start recording using HDHR tuner 1 and then try to record something else, which I thought would use the second tuner, it says there is a conflict and I need to cancel the first recording to record the second!

Any ideas?

I have searched the forums, but no luck finding anything.

Thanks for the help!

  Annoying chirp in recordings
Posted by: jim08127 - 2009-07-29, 04:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Has anyone else experienced a periodic chirp or squeal sound in their recordings made with hauppauge pvr-150 or related hardware? I can't seem to resolve it. It seemed to start happening a few months ago. I have tried changing the card, that did not do it. Nor does it seem to be driver related. I have also recently done a repair install of the OS which went smoothly. Have attached logs in case they help. Maybe its coming from my directv D10-200 receiver haven't really tested for that yet. No such sound from the other identical receivers in the house afaik.

I am using the same encoding parameters as I have for a couple years now.

I've tried
wizmetadatagrabber.exe /f: %1
in my postprocessing.bat but it doesn't work. Tried other combinations in a command line to no avail Smile

I'm using gbpvr 1.3.11 & wizmetadatagrabber 1.0.10.4.

  Playback skips in GBPVR
Posted by: sixeyes - 2009-07-29, 02:48 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I have a .ts file recorded by GBPVR which skips when played back in GBPVR but plays perfectly in Windows Media Player and VLC. However I'd like to play the file back in GBPVR.

I've downloaded the GBPVRTSReader.ax mentioned in the survival guide but it didn't help.

The problem first occurs just after 4 minutes into the recording.

BTW I've tried using CutChunk.exe to reduce the file but there's no way to specify an initial offset so I'm still left with a 90MB .ts file.

I cannot get my plugin to show up in the config tab, and I can't figure out why. Here is the output from the config.exe.log:

Any ideas to what the problem is? I've been stumped on this for a little too long now.

  Separate MDAPI plugins per tuner
Posted by: kendrak24 - 2009-07-29, 12:24 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

As it is now it doesn't work very well to record 2+ encrypted channels
at the same time. For example, I have 2 tuners, but if two recordings are in parallell, the result has stuttering video due to the fact that both recording processes use the "same" plugin, i.e. the same settings. The plugins often can handle more than one instance running, but they need to be able to use different configurations.
Perhaps a directory for each tuner under MDPlugins?
