UK Luxe HD getting 'no signal' pop-up
Posted by: Pob - 2009-07-29, 12:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Still having issues so I have uploaded a full TS from the problem transponder:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NGQ4N7GF
The problem channel is Luxe HD;
T:12643,H,27500,23~NID:32~ONID:2~TSID:2603~P:54206~V:2316~VTYPE:H264~A:2318~L:eng(AC3):265~PCR:2316~N:>Luxe TV HD (AC3)

I can watch it for sometimes a few minutes, other times a few seconds, before the screen goes blank and the no signal pop-up. The issue only affects this one channel, and the same channel in other apps does work. I have applied all the patches from survival guide.

It is more a curiosity - I don't get why this one channel (and none of the others on the same transponder) has this problem.

  Calling all NMT users!!
Posted by: Jaggy - 2009-07-29, 12:30 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (58)

I am totally amazed how few positive messages I read on these forums about users experiences with their NMT (Network Media Tank) ie. PCH (Pop Corn Hour) EGreat etc. & GB-PVR!

I fully understand why mvallevand feels this is one of the least rewarding projects he has done, where as I feel he & sub have done a totally amazing job of integrating the NMT & GB-PVR!

I was recently accused of

Quote:Yeah – you are getting very evangelical about the NMT…<grin>
& I guess this is right but mainly it is because of other NMT users lack of positive messages for what I feel is a really Really REALLY good product for (as I said in another message recently)
Quote:a HD compatible, small footprint, totally silent, super fast, almost PnP client that only cost USA$159 + shipping (NZ$350 including shipping) (I couldn't even get close to building a silent WAF HD client PC (not to mention that small) for anywhere near that price)

The only thing I can think of that is causing this lack of positive messages is that other users aren't having the same positive experience as I am with their NMT & mvpmcx2 using PCH2 mode & GB-PVR??

So how about if you own an NMT & use it with GB-PVR at least post your experience with it in this thread to show Martin we do appreciate what he has done & is doing for us!

No recording or LiveTV from AC3 or HD channels
Posted by: kendrak24 - 2009-07-28, 09:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (37)

Hi,

I've just installed an new system with two FireDTV DVB-C tuners, and I got almost everything working, except channels with AC3 sound, and HD channels. I tried installing ProgDVB and both AC3 and HD channels works fine there. The attached logs are from when trying live tv.

The symptoms are: No video and no audio. No difference if it's live tv or recording.

Any ideas?

  TechniSat SkyStar HD2 setup problems
Posted by: Whitters - 2009-07-28, 08:35 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (14)

Hi,

Just bought and installed the TechniSat SkyStar HD2 card. Have just watched 'Coast' on BBC HD and it looked great viewing it via the "DVBViewer TE2" software that came with the installation disk - so i know my satellite signal and dish are fine. I now want to use GB-PVR with this card so have just tried to set it up but when i hit the "Map Digital Channels to EPG Channels" i get an error "GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly and not already in use". I've uninstalled the "DVBViewer TE2" software (in case that was causing a conflict) and the setup in GB-PVR still fails with the same error. Any ideas anyone? Hopefully i've attached the right files to help.

Thanks in advance

Whitters

  Possibly a dumb question...
Posted by: jim08127 - 2009-07-28, 06:44 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (9)

for someone who has used gbpvr as long as I have. Here goes. I bought this nifty wide screen hdtv capable lcd for my computer a few months ago. Its attached to an nVidia 6600 GT via the DVI connector. I thought when I watch a dvd that is wide-screen version that the picture would expand to the full size of the lcd screen. Watching it with pvrx2 I am not seeing that. Is there something I can do to change that? Is it my vid card driver settings or maybe a config option for gbpvr?

  Recordings screen
Posted by: phillyjim - 2009-07-28, 05:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Up until today, when I opened the recordings screen, I would see the list of completed recordings, pending recordings, etc.

This morning, when I open that screen, it closes immediately. I am not sure what happened or how to correct it. That's the only menu item that works that way. All the others (live tv, schedule, search schedule, video library, etc) are ok.

I can reinstall GBPVR if needed, but, don't want to lose my scheduled recordings. If I have to reinstall should I save the gbpvr.db3 file or will that also save the problem with the recordings screen?

I have donated a few times, and just clicked on a button to do so. But now I can't find the button - either it's not there, or I'm going blind...

Recordings get removed from GBPVR database...
Posted by: philly_phenom - 2009-07-28, 06:24 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

GBPVR must be pretty quick in purging it's database.

I have an overnight task that calls videoredo to cut out commercials from my recordings throughout the day. I do it overnight, b/c the all the disk I/O makes playback during processing times rather jerky.

Anyway, after the processing is done, the batch file deletes the original file & replaces it with the new one.

It seems about 2/3 of the time, this results in the recording getting purged from the database. Is there a way to make GBPVR a little more patient (some setting in config.xml or something)?

  Recording Service Freezing
Posted by: Carlito - 2009-07-28, 02:34 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I've had this happen intermittently for about 6 months now. The recording service just seems to hang/freeze. The tray icon stays green but nothing is happening.
This just recently happened again. I was away on vacation for 10 days and when I returned today none of my shows had recorded while I was gone.
I left on the July 16th and returned today, the 27th.

Any idea on why this is happening?
Logs attached.
Thanks

Skip Fwd/back Misbehaving on NMT on MPEG playback
Posted by: baj1 - 2009-07-28, 12:06 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (24)

I've just experienced an issue on our NMT, although my wife says she's seen it several times before. The Skip Forward/Back buttons do not move by the configured 30 seconds. In fact, the skip back button alone actually skips ahead in the playback. I have to skip back 2 minutes (2 + back) to go back at all. This behavior appears to be unique to this file.

I figured it was the time base of the recording, but when I tried playing the video on my PC and MVPs it skips fwd/back just fine.

I've recently loaded the latest MVPMCX2, but according to my wife it's happened to her several times before, for sure dating back into June. I did not have the opportunity to test those files on my PC or MVPs.

Any thoughts? Would the log files help? If so, do I need to unplug the MVPs first?

Thanks,
-Brad
