I have a strange issue with an atsc channel in Portland, OR (any locals?).
The channel is 10.1 OPBDT.
Everything that is on that channel has an audio version of closed captioning.
Example:
Dialog is normal, no text. But when something happens (opens the door) a voice says that they are opening the door, or sitting on a couch, etc.
Anybody have this issue, I'm assuming it's for the blind; but I have no idea how it is applying to just this one channel.
I have often burnt GBPVR recordings to re-writeable DVD's and more recently I attempt to play them across my network through a Pinnacle ShowCenter 250HD. The DVD's have often suffered from losing sync between the audio & video or missing a few frames. On the ShowCenter the video stops and locks, or the sound keeps playing and the video eventually catches up.
I can resolve the DVD problem by performing stream correction using VideoReDo but this does not prevent the lockup's on the ShowCenter. This led me to think that the ShowCenter doesn't handle MPEG2's well but it plays AVI's fine so I converted one of those to an MPEG2 and it played without glitching as well. Therefore I wonder if the problem lies with the MPEG2's created by GBPVR. I have converted a couple of them to AVI and they have played OK, but that is too inconvenient for regular use. I also tried GBPVR's automatic conversion to AVI but the result wouldn't play.
Are there any thoughts on why I may be having these problems with GBPVR generated MPEG2 files? My computer spec's are in my signature. My current GBPVR is 1.3.11 but this MPEG2 issue was no different with earlier versions.
I'd like to get a new tuner to record terrestrial Freeview (for the widescreen, clean signal, and additional programming). My computer is not suited to processing HD and the ShowCenter won't handle the H.264 Freeview encoding so I'll make do with standard def for the meantime. I've determined that a WinTV-HVR-900 (or possibly a WinTV-NOVA-T Stick) from Hauppauge should do this for me. Is the output of either of these likely to be worse or better for me? I'm confused as I understand that these non-HD models have an MPEG2 output. As the Freeview transmission is H.264 it must mean that they process the signal to convert it from H.264 to MPEG2. Is this correct? If this is the case then does the computer or the USB stick do the conversion? If it is the computer then I fear I may be worse off than I am now because my current WinTV-PVR-150 has on-board processing.
NZ Freeview (DVB-T) uses an LATM-HE-AAC audio codec. I've managed to get GBPVR setup and working fine viewing, recording and playing back these files. I'd like to have GVPBR automatically convert these to AVI after recording. So far it's working fine except there's no audio. I have GVBPR Version 1.3.11. Convert log file attached. I've downloaded and installed the Lame Audio Encoder, even though it says in the log it couldn't find it.
My system is Windows Server 2008 x64 updated with some of the Vista features, like BDA, User experience etc.
Found a problem with the built-in mpg2splt.ax MPEG-2 demultiplexer.. one of my ATSC channels broadcasts with 512 kb/s AC3 audio.. while watching Live TV it plays fine (presumably because of GB-PVR's parser)
but if I record the file and try to play it, then the system uses MPEG-2 Demultiplexer (mpg2splt.ax), and it fails to branch off the audio at all; it only finds a video stream in the file. the file itself has the audio though, and playing with VLC for instance it's fine.
can I make GB-PVR use it's own parser exclusively, even when not timeshifting and just playing a file?
I had to change my video card, and this has been driving me NUTS.
I have a Radeon 4670 card, running Vista HomePremium, and I get really bad artifacts when using GBPVR; looks like it's deinterlacing artifacts (especially bad on telecined material).
but the strange thing is, the buffer and recording files play perfectly in GraphStudio when I have it render the file. Opening up lastgraph.grf brings back the same problems. But, both graphs have exactly the same filters!
All I can think of is that the "Video Renderer" in GraphStudio's generated graph is VMR7 perhaps..? PVRX2 is set to VMR9 Custom, but I get the same artifacts in VMR9 FSE and EVR.
I have the latest drivers, have tried older ones, even formatted my system to start fresh... to no avail.
I know sub never put VMR7 into PVRX2, but despite having a very nice rig and hardware, VMR7 might be the only way I can get good video for some reason with this card.
anyone know what might be going on... please? :confused:
My EGreat M34a finally arrived & I have been trying to get it working using the dummy guide install on my development machine.
When I, following the guide Test Connection, using the network browser select open GB-PVR via the Network Browser I get the message "CP:Cannot stat'/opt/sybhttpd"
I had a 400 GB drive that GBPVR was set to record to, and store the tv buffer on. I pulled it out, cloned it to a 750GB drive I am upgrading to. When I put the new 750 in...and booted windows..for some reason windows did not assign it the same drive letter as the old drive.
I didn't notice this until after I opened gbpvr. I went to recordings..it sat frozen for a minutwe..and then listed my recordings as "failed". I realized the problem, and fixed the drive letter, but gbpvr now only shows like the last 4 things I recorded, and all show "failed".
Is there any way to fix this...I had probably 30-40 episodes of some shows...probably 100+ recordings total...I really really don't want to lose the link to them. I realize they still exist on the drive, but since gbpvr thinks they don't..I can't play them within gbpvr, and I can play them on my mediamvp in the other room.
It doesn't happen w/ every recording, but enough of my HD-PVR recordings have messed up time issues that it's a nuisance to manually run tsmuxer from the GUI every time.
Does anyone know how your supposed to run it from the command line so I can add it to PostProcessing.bat?
I have determined that my provider periodically sends out the pay per view channels in the clear, but does not appear to do it according to any predictable pattern.
Is there a way that a feature could be implemented where you tell it to record a show on a channel (like a movie on the ppv channel) and if there is a sync on this channel, it proceeds, and if not it automatically tries to record the next available show that doesn't conflict with other scheduled recordings?
