i need abit of help I have been using a ati rage 128 pro as a capture source and tvout well it finally died of old age so i had a couple of old nvidia cards one big a tnt2/vanta it gives wonderful tvout on all my tvs(feedinng to a channel vision multi feed modulator) however it maxes out at 720x480 the other is a nvidia 6200 however it does a crappy job no matter what resolution i set it to so what i want to know is what is a good card that can handle at least 1024x768 composite or svideo and does not do major scaling i would prefer dx9 compatibility but not a requirement. heck if someone can recommend a direct vga to rf modulator that will work with nondigital tuners that would work also
I'm an Australian HD Homerun user (running Vista Home) migrating from Mediaportal.
So far GBPVR is looking great, except I'm having trouble with live tv display of the Australian ABCTV suite of channels (ABC1, ABC2, ABC HD) (DVB-T). The channels appear on the scan, but will not play (video or audio) in the channel mapping preview window (config), or in the normal live tv mode. I get a blank window that sometimes causes a hang - sometimes I can switch to another.
I have followed the HD Homerun instructions and installed the survival patches, and done a successful re-register of the filters using the .bat file. Then a re-scan. Still the same problem - all channels scan fine but no display of the ABC ones.
From reading other posts it seems one explanation may be lack of the right codec - but before I begin downloading and trying out a bunch of codecs (I hate playing with codecs!) I wanted to see if others think that's it. All commerical channels and SBS are fine. And if a missing codec is probably the problem, what codec/renderer combos are people using in GBPVR to get Australian DVB-T - particularly ABC?
If a log of the config would help I can post it but I thought someone might be able to guess the problem without it.
** Disregard this post, I found the answer already posted... I will delete it if I find a way to.
I'm looking to get the WinTV-HVR-2250 to use with GB-PVR. The card is shown as compatible in the analog tuner list, but not in the digital tuner list. Is driver compatability still being worked out?
The card uses a single antenna connection and has two tuners each capable of independantly tuning analog or digital.
I plan to use this on my cable connection for both QAM and standard cable, so I could record typically:
- Two QAM stations
- One QAM and One Analog station
My cable company has just announced that as of yesterday they will carry all OTA stations plus a couple stations from other cities on QAM (no encryption). So I no longer need tuners for two different feeds for OTA and cable.
Question:
1) Could you let me know if the 2250 is supported for digital.
2) Will I have any trouble in GB-PVR using the dual tuner functionality?
When you have a DVD in the drive WMP 11 shows the metadata for it (title, cover image, chapter list etc). Does anyone know if this can be hooked into somehow from an external program? Or any other resource or method of looking up DVD metadata based on the DVD disc.
Google (for me) has come back with little of use so far.
