  Playstation 3 PlayTV & GB-PVR Success!!
Posted by: St0rmBr1nger - 2009-06-16, 09:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Using the modified INF links below, for the Pinaccle 2000e Dual DVB-T tuners, I got my PS3 PlayTV DVB-T box working fine on my PC using GB-PVR!!

32Bit
http://www.ps3news.com/PlayStation-3/son...available/

64Bit
http://www.ps3news.com/forums/playstatio...04986.html

The only problem I had, was GB-PVR was being quirky in it's setup (telling me I had to download a EPG, when I had already done so, I also ended up with 8 tuners at one point! and it also showed a different digital source plugin name after reeboot etc etc.). I also had a problem with my recently digital switchover relay transmitter not being listed (I am on a relay from Stockland Hill, using different frequencies), so had to do a full frequency scan).

Anyway, in short, plug in your PlayTV, add a Pinaccle 2000e Dual DVB-T tuner #1 and a Pinaccle 2000e Dual DVB-T tuner #2 and leave region set to all, and do a full channel scan for each. You can also download EPG too.

All Good!!!

  Need Help setting up MceEpg2XmlTv
Posted by: atmassie - 2009-06-16, 09:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Well it's been a long time sine I've messed with all this and I'm not having any luck with getting it going.
I have been running MCE 2005 on Dell Xps 410 and a WinTV-HVR-2250. Now I wanted to use GBPVR so i could record HD channels. I'm stuck trying to set up the EPG using MceEpg2XmlTv. When I try to use the GetProviders.bat I get this error - 6/16/2009 4:25:33 PM - Starting MceEpgDownloader (2005 Edition) v1.0.0.6
6/16/2009 4:25:33 PM - Preparing to retrieve headendlist
6/16/2009 4:25:33 PM - - Connecting.
6/16/2009 4:27:03 PM - - Error.

ERROR STATUS: ERSTATUS_XNGENERIC
ERROR STRING:
Here is the path where I have it all (C:\EPG\Graber)
Any help would be great Thanks.:mad:

audio issues, low voice, low volume and surprise
Posted by: gbpvriwanna - 2009-06-16, 08:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

my config: Klite codec, ffshow and ac3filter. Optical SPDIF output to receiver.

This is not a GBPVR issue but it has to do with the underlying codes used by GBPVR.

I finally got everythign working, all the recordings playing and stuff, and came to the point where some of the files played by GPVR and media player have low volume, and even lower center channel, namely the dialog.

I recently installed Nero so that i can burn some of the files to DVD's including home vidoes... To my surprise, when I open a file (an mkv) using neroshow, the audio is loud and i can hear the dialog.

does any know why this would happen? any know which codecs are being used by neroshow? I'd like to use the same codes for GBPVR and do awa ywith ffdshow.

Thanks,

  Cancel a recongi through EWA
Posted by: Basher52 - 2009-06-16, 07:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

recongi = recording :p

I'm wondering how to cancel or rather stop a recording where the show has ended but it's till recording because of the post padding.
I just made a cancel in the EWA of it so I could start watching another channel where a movie was about to start but the cancel deleted the whole recoding.
I need this sometimes then the post padding isn't really necessary 'cos the show has ended and I need the tuner to watch another channel.

Can't see ATSC subchannel video, audio OK
Posted by: Braklet - 2009-06-16, 04:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

v1.3.11

I'm in the US, and just reconfigured my ATSC tuner after our broadcast DTV transition. One channel in particular gives me problems; I can hear the audio but video remains blank (or remains stuck on the previous video buffer contents).

Both of my digital TVs properly tune this channel with their embedded ATSC tuners, so this appears to be an issue between my tuner card (AverMedia A180) and the GB-PVR scanner. Note that the scanner preview window exhibits the same behavior (audio OK, no video). I wonder if there's a problem with the tuner line that the scanner comes up with?

I extracted the relevant portions of config.exe.log (see below). The problematic channel is 50.2 RTN. Just guessing, the video_PID doesn't seem to be anywhere near the video_PIDs for 50.1 or 50.3 (which both tune correctly). Does anybody know of a way to debug the scanner? Any other suggestions for me to manually compose correct tuning parameters? Thanks for any help!

All DTV in USA as of June 15th
Posted by: agent2002 - 2009-06-16, 02:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I realize that this is probably no surprise as people have been following the mess here in the USA over OTA DTV but as of last Friday, Analog - good old NTSC is no longer being broadcast commercially speaking.

I have a surplus of PCs that I have built and used for a gaming LAN, but now the youngens have gone off to college with laptops and I'm thinking about cannibilizing these PCs and making at least one decent HTPC out of them.

Should I get two DTV capture cards for recoding one channel while watching another or ...

Does GBPVR do all I want or do I need Windows Media Center or is there a better Linux product?

Thanks

NMT PCH, with NCI and WOL
Posted by: srhutch - 2009-06-16, 12:43 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (6)

OK enough of the accronyms, but been using my PCH with WOL for a whiel and works good, decided to use the NCI to see if the use of GBPVR was any slicker from startup (which it is) but problem now is that I have lost the WOL facility.

Anybody know what script changes nee to be made. I copied the WOL exe to the apps directory and ammended the daemon.cgi script I think it was adding the WOL command that I have been using, but all I get is "Started" on a grey background from the PCH

Anybody know what commands I need to use.
