  Cannot Launch PVRX2
Posted by: Beekster - 2009-05-28, 12:16 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

All of the sudden, for some reason I cannot launch the program to watch TV. I get an error message "Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video render. I can't figure out what to do to correct the problem. I downloaded and re-installed v1.3.11 and am using an ATI TV Wonder Elite. I am on Windows XP Media Center.

  IE8 is SLOWWWWWW
Posted by: soccerdad - 2009-05-27, 11:58 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

I took the bait and let windows update install IE8. Instantly my internet experience dropped to dead slow. What a hog! I know many don't even use IE, but I still do on most machines out of laziness. Anyway, unless you have a hot machine, I would not suggest going to it. This is on my A64 X2 3600+ box with 3 gig of ram which is not really a slug. Then it does not show up in programs to uninstall, but microsoft has a quick utility to roll back to IE7. I bet they get a lot of takers on that utility.

  Hauppauge 2250 and media mvp
Posted by: jorm - 2009-05-27, 10:24 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I am looking at upgrading my Hauppuage 250's to a 2250 so I don't have to pay for cable anymore and can do ATSC recordings over the air. I have about 6 Media MVPs will the recordings of the 2250 (I don't care about the high def but want the digital tuner) be incompatible with the Media MVP?

I know the media mvp can not handle the high def .ts files but can it still record to standard def?

If no has anyone played with transcoding the recording back to a compatible form?

Possibility to enter satellite frequncies manually ?
Posted by: mague - 2009-05-27, 08:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hello,

i am new Wink I thought gb-pvr has what i want and want to give it a try.

I am using an intel atom and a nova-s plus. OS is vista sp1.

I did 3 scans of Astra 1 and miss some channels. Really just a few. The frequencies of those channels are public and well documented.

http://frequenzen.digitalfernsehen.de/fr...ENCY).html

I saw the possibility to add a channel manually. The window is a bit to small to do this and typing a ~ deletes all input. Probably copy-paste from notepad will work.

However, i am not sure about the syntax gb-pvr is using. Any help to complete my channels list ?

Anyone using the HD-PVR Beta Drivers 1.5.6.0
Posted by: MeekMaster - 2009-05-27, 03:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

GBPVR is working very well for me and my HD-PVR right now with only a minor liveTV problem, playback hiccups when not using timeshift. I was thinking about trying these drivers out but wanted some feedback on how they have worked for others first.

The beta drivers are marked as May 15 2009, they can be found here if you want to try them for yourself.

Beta Drivers 1.5.6.0

Just click on the Beta tab.

Black screen when playing VC-1 files in gb-pvr
Posted by: bigceoguy - 2009-05-27, 02:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Right now I have a bunch of my blu-ray movies backed up on my hard drive, and I wanted to play them with GB-PVR (I removed the m2ts file containing the main movie with anydvd). The ones encoded with h264 or mpeg-2 play fine, but the ones with vc-1 don't show any video (the file plays back with the audio as normal and a black screen). When I try playing the m2ts file with powerdvd or media player classic, it plays fine. What could be causing it? For what it's worth, I'm using the latest version of gb-pvr, powerdvd 7.3, coreavc, and my video card is an nvidia 8800gs with purevideo.

  Can't reinstall client
Posted by: Talondale - 2009-05-27, 02:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I had gbpvr 1.3.11 up and running for months on a Windows 2000 Server when it suddenly stopped working. If I tried to run it I got an error message: "System.Xml.XmlException: Root element is missing." After a quick search of this forum it seemed that some portion of the program was corrupted or missing. I tried to re-install overtop of the previous version but it wouldn't let me so I manually uninstalled the program since I couldn't find an uninstall program in the folder, or the start group, or even under Windows add and remove programs. I also used regclean to delete any unassociated registry entries. I then applied some Windows updates. When I try to reinstall the program it does a rollback and says "Install finished prematurely due to an error." Is there somewhere it logs the error? Is there something I'm missing that I need to do to allow me to reinstall the program?
Thanks.

SkinPlugin preview performance - test build
Posted by: McBainUK - 2009-05-27, 09:49 AM - Forum: Community Skin - Replies (3)

Here's a test build including some relatively minor changes to improve the speed that the SkinPlugin can generate the previews when browsing editable skin item options.

In tests I found it to be about 2x-4x as fast, would be interested in results from the 'real world'. Please post below with your results and general feedback.

Just extract the zipped DLL to:
C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Plugins\SkinPlugin4\

One channel not recording in HD
Posted by: punksux - 2009-05-27, 03:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

After a recent hard drive crash I have reloaded GBPVR and am having an issue with one of my channels. When I record anything on my local FOX channel it does not record in HD. Every other channel I have set up records HD but not FOX. I get a letterbox version of the show as if i was watching a HD program on an SD TV.
Before the crash it would record in HD, and I thought I had set everything up the same. I have tried rescanning the channels and it's still the same.

Any help would be appreciated.
