mvpmc2 HDMI: no 5.1 or overlays
Posted by: stoenjes - 2009-05-27, 02:22 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (4)

Was running mvpmc2 on an A100 successfully with component, updated with the 24May files and switched back to HDMI.

- The HDMI and SPDIF outputs are both stereo (playing the same file using USB-eject gives 5.1 both outputs).

- Overlays don't display, such as when pressing the blue button for the time line or the Resume/Restart buttons.

- Video looks fine; and the stop and skip/next buttons work.

  new mvpmc2 HDMI issues
Posted by: imagn - 2009-05-26, 11:03 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (5)

I tried to get this working but when run mvpmcx2 on the pch it works but the client only takes up part of the screen it is like its the equivalent to a folder in window that has been resized on your desktop to only take up some of the space

I have uploaded my logs and config.xml file as i still can not find <MVPClientType>PCH</MVPClientType> setting anywhere in it so i cant change it, but i might be wrong

So any help would be appreciated

Thanks

  H264 and mvpmcx2
Posted by: trummel - 2009-05-26, 10:09 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (46)

Ooh.. It's just like Christmas day with a nice new toy to play with!!!!

Huge thanks as always to Martin, Sub and all of the testers for the latest release.

First the good news,

Upgraded mvpmcx2, sub's mods and config.xml. Both PCH-A110 and PCH-B110's work first time. Playback of cyberlink mux recorded programs works perfectly on both Component and HDMI. Speed is fantastic. Live TV has a tiny (and expected) buffer delay but plays flawlessly. I will give it all a good bashing over the next 24 hours and see if I can break anything. Big Grin

The only bit of bad news so far is that BBC HD recordings (H264 with AC3 audio I think) appear to have a bit of a problem keeping track of the audio stream. When a recording is first started, there is a 10 second delay until the audio kicks in with a stutter. After that, the audio seems to be sync'ed OK, but gets lost again whenever I skip or pause. Also, in mono mode, the audio subtitles could be turned on and off with the 'Audio' button on the remote. This seems to be disabled in PCH2 mode and I seem to get random audio subtitleing.

I dont know if it helps but I've attached dumpts.txt

Let me know if you would like a HD recording snippet putting somewhere.

Once again many thanks for all of your fantastic efforts.

Martyn.

  Tuning problems w/Hauppauge PVR150 Card
Posted by: rob2009 - 2009-05-25, 11:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi,
I'm currently a MythTV user but trying to switch to GBPVR, but can't get my analog cable channels (2-65) to tune in. When I switch channels, it shows up very fuzzy for a split second and then I get snow and lines, except for Channels 14 and 17 which are very fuzzy but recognizable.

All the channels (2-65)show up perfectly when I use the Hauppauge WinTV app.

Config and Steps
----------------
1) Celeron D, Hauppauge PVR150 Card
2) Downloaded drivers: hauppauge_cd_3.4d1
- Ran HcwDriverInstall.exe to install drivers. After this install, GBPVR didn't pick up any stations from the Hauppauge Card, so figured it needed more Hauppauge drivers/apps loaded
- Ran setup.exe from the hauppauge_cd_3.4d1 directory and it installed WinTV and other apps. GBPVR then was able to momentarily tune into some stations, so at least it was recognizing the hauppauge card properly.
3) All the EPG and channels got loaded properly and stations using schedulesdirect account

Tried:
1) Changing settings between Cable and Antenna
2) Tried the TuningAssistant and got same results
3) Tried reinstall
4) Tried Re-register Filters
5) Tried FreqCopy
6) Experimented with WinTV and GBPVR running and noticed that if GBPVR tunes to the same WinTV station, it actually kills the WinTV reception, which made me think that something is pulling the signal away from GBPVR but can't seem to find a process that would be doing that.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

-Rob

  Parental-ish control (again)
Posted by: wannabepvr - 2009-05-25, 09:26 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I know it has been discussed before and never really made it up the 'to do' list but I thought I would throw it up again. But Sub's kids must nearly be to the point of using the full menu interface. (motivation?) Hey - they are probably doing a bit of coding too.

I don't know how it might work - but it could be that on a slave machine you check on/off the ratings (from the EPG) that are displayed in the recordings menu. But I bet these differ by regions just to make it hard.
