  No audio playing a DVD
Posted by: Graham - 2009-05-05, 12:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I get no sound when playing a DVD.

I have tried several combinations of video and audio decoders and audio renderers on the DVD tab in config.exe. Still no sound.

I have opened the .grf and the clock in the audio renderer is grey (not active). When I click play in graphedit, the clock goes yellow (becomes active) and the DVD plays with sound in the activemovie window.

I have groped about in the config.xml and found ...

<ForceAudioReferenceClock>true</ForceAudioReferenceClock>

Changing this between true and false makes no difference ... I have no idea what it means nor whether it is relevant.

Thanks

Do I need to install card manufacturer software?
Posted by: bethanyrayne - 2009-05-05, 11:34 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Hope I can get a quick answer on this one.

I have a Nova-T-500 and keep getting BSOD. I originally thought it was something to do with GBPVR but it isn't. I decoded the DMP file and found it was a known problem with Nova T 500 and well documented here http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=9888

I know it is actually a card driver problem but just thought I would ask if I had to install Hauppage software (other than driver) to make GBPVR work or will it work with just the card drivers installed?

EDIT to add; BDODs usually happen when watching a program that you are also recording.

Edit to add to title so others can find this thread if needed.

  DVB-C Radio?
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2009-05-05, 08:36 AM - Forum: DVB-T Radio - Replies (4)

Is it possible to make this plugin work with a dvb-c card (Cinergy C HD from Terratec)? One should think that it isn't very different from DVB-T, except for the frequencies.. I really want this plugin but don't have dvb-t.

  Trouble registering codec
Posted by: gazoo - 2009-05-04, 10:57 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

I have a new laptop running Windows Home Premium Vista x64 and I am having trouble registering MPCvideodec.ax. I have UAC turned off, registered the codec and it said I did it successfully. However, it doesn't show up as registered using Gspot or studio or anything (yes I rebooted and everything.) It's a weakish laptop that would really benefit from DXVA if only it would register. Can someone help?

I blame Vista x64..I've never run it and this is what i does to me

My server is Vista 32 and it registers fine. I used the x64 version - the x86 (32 bit) version won't work at all.

  MovieWiz Question from a newbie
Posted by: shide.zhang - 2009-05-04, 08:07 PM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (3)

Hi,
Pardon me if it's realy a FAQ, but I failed to find a quick answer after spending half an hour searching. Anyway, here is my question.

My of my downloaded movie are composed of several files. Note that they are not the episodes of a series, but a single movie, split into several small pieces. e.g,

My Movies\ Man in Black \file1.rmvb
My Movies\ Man in Black \file2.rmvb
My Movies\ Man in Black \file3.rmvb

Where the folder name "Man in Black" is the movie title and the three *.rmvb files in the folder should be played in correct sequence. (filename may or may not be the same as the movie tile)

How do I edit my MovieWiz contact so that they are shown as a single entry when I search and played continiously when I play the movie?

Thanks in advance.

Shide

  Client crashes
Posted by: NumberFive - 2009-05-04, 06:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi,

Just wondering does anyone have a solution to this problem.

When I'm watching a live DVB-T programme on a client (office PC) frequently enough the client will crash. I'm putting this down to a corrupt signal, but I'm not sure. When I restart the client, it leaves the original tuner on the server 'locked' and opens a new one for the second session. The tuner only becomes available again when I restart the server recording service.

Is there a solution to this problem? Could it be possible in future for the server to require a "still alive" signal from the client otherwise it will release the tuner (after, say, 30 seconds)?

Thanks

  How to install 2nd HVR-1600??
Posted by: teookie - 2009-05-04, 06:30 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hi all. Just sorta impulse purchased a second HVR-1600. Whats the best way to install it? Do I just plug it in and turn the computer on? Will windows realize that it already has drivers for it? Or will I need to monkey around with drivers/winTV or anything??

I'm guessing that configuring GBPVR to use both HVR-1600's will be a piece of cake - it's getting windows to recognize them both thats worrying me...

  Hauppauge Nova-S USB2
Posted by: DanielP - 2009-05-04, 06:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Does anyone have one of these?

I'm having a few issues with this- quite often, it will fail to find a signal, after scolling around the channels for a while, it will suddenly pick up and work fine. I have a funny feeling that it seems to get stuck on Horizontal vs Vertical polarisation.

In addition, I don't seem to be able to get Diseqc switching to work. I might post some logs if fiddling doesn't work- I also think I need to relax the BDA settings to give the hardware time to work, but I don't know which to change. There used to be a bda_timeout option which could be used to slow things down for slower USB hardware, but this doesn't seem to be in the config.xml any more.

Any help greatfully received- I was forced into USB hardware because I have no space left in my Shuttle.

Daniel
