  Downgrade a VS2008 project?
Posted by: bgowland - 2009-05-06, 08:04 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

The VS developers (in their infinite wisdom) have done something to VS2008 Express editions to break designing SQLite datasets/datatable adapters visually.

I've recently upgraded to VS2008 C# and just found out I can't make some necessary changes to a dataset.

Has anybody tried reverting a VS2008 project to VS2005? Is it possible?

Cheers,
Brian

  Auto update EPG failing
Posted by: McBainUK - 2009-05-06, 04:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Recently I've noticed that the TV Guide is loosing days and I reckon it's due to the auto update EPG failing.

I've attached what appears to be a relevant log. Lots going on it in but not quite sure what I'm looking for

GB-PVR is set to auto update the EPG ever day at 1pm, to wake machine and do a 'complete EPG reload'. EPG source is UK 'Freeview' DVB.

Manually updating the EPG via the System screen works fine.

The Military Channel SKY 531 (UK)
Posted by: CornStopper - 2009-05-06, 03:33 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

I use xmltv using radio times as the grabber to get my tv listings. But radio times do not have the listings for The Military Channel.

Do anyone know where I can get the tv listings for this channel in an XML format that can be imported into PVRx2???

If not I might write a grabber for this channel, and would anyone else be interest in this once complete.

  FusionHDTV Dual Digital4 config
Posted by: Richard09 - 2009-05-06, 01:43 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (15)

I have bought a system comprising a PC with Vista Home Premium and 3000 GB of hard disk space. It includes a FusionHDTV DVB-T Dual Digital4 for receiving free to air television in Canberra, Australia.

The expectation was that I would be able to watch or record shows, strip them of unwanted parts and replay them with subtitles (for the hearing impaired members of the family).

Microsoft Media Centre does not handle subtitles for this region.

At present I use the DViCO FusionHDTV software that came with tuner board for viewing and recording live TV. It is OK but has some deficiencies with subtitles on replay.

I have had limited success with Comskip and VideoRedo in processing the transport files from FusionHDTV software.

I am hoping the GBPVR will provide an alternative that will provide all the functionality I need, including processing subtitles. I have downloaded and installed the current version of GBPVR, but have been unable to configure the Tuner card.

In Vista the two tuners are each identified as FusionHDTV USB, Avstream Capture (DBVT DUAL).

In GBPVR Configuration, the program identifies the Capture source as Dvico Fusion Dual Digital USB, when the check box ‘Only show devices detected in this machine’ is ticked.
Trying to populate the list of channels gave the error message “GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly and not already in use”. (I had closed all Divco software.)

I referred to the GBPVR Documentation: Config – Define HDTVSource and found the following message:

“Troubleshooting tip: if no channel found, close config file, run ReRegisterFilters, (Start→All Programs→GBPVR) then try again. Sometimes installing and registering mpv (video)and mpa (audio) decoders free from free-codecs.com helps. If still nothing, do a scan and check your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log files. If no clue after that, head over to support forum, zip and attach those files, somebody will help.”

I have run the ReGegisterFilters bat. I did not attempt the mpv and mpa install because I did not know what it meant. I will attached the two log files in zipped form if I can.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  No playback on client
Posted by: wodger - 2009-05-06, 09:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,
I set up a client PC and successfully connected it to my server. When I try to play regular ts recordings on the client it looks like it's about to work, then the screen flicks back to the recordings list.

I have attached the logs.

Thanks heaps
Julian.

[edit] ok, the file doesn't play in windows media player when I browse to it either...

Live TV freezes when I press Record
Posted by: serafis - 2009-05-06, 09:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I've had GBPVR stable for many months now under XP now with my analog PVR150MCE tuner.

So I decided to try to see if I could get NZ Freeview to work, first with a no-name Chines USB DVB-T dongle off ebay (only partially successful) and then with a Hauppauge WinTv HVR-900 dual analog / DVB-T USB stick (better).

After many evenings spent trying to fix problems with jerky pictures, freezes, stutters, and pixellation related to signal quality, codecs, hardware acceleration and with quite different results depending on which USB port the tuner is plugged into, I *almost* have it usable except....

In Live Preview mode, when I try to record Freeview | HD the confirmation dialog comes up but when I click "Record" the picture just freezes with the dialog still present, until I exit PVRX2. The recording does seem to happen behind the scenes though. Other channels seem to record OK. I also get picture freeze if I change channels off HD and then back onto it again.

With LiveTV in Timeshift mode, the video and audio quite rapidly go out of sync by a very noticeable amount (on all channels), which makes this mode unusable.

Any ideas what could be causing these symptoms?

I'm using Cyberlink PDV7 H.264 / VMR9 for video and Monogram AAC /System default for audio. DXVA is definitely working on my nvidia 9400GT. Live preview delay is set to 2000.

Haven't even tried analog on the HVR-900 yet, but expecting this will bring a whole new swag of problems!

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Time Slots from EPG not correct
Posted by: Flyndr - 2009-05-06, 09:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have had gbpvr running well for some time and was congratulating myself that it was finally sorted. I like it very much.

However....

Last couple of days - my recurring recordings (set by clicking on the appropriate time slot in program guide) have appeared with ridiculous time slots. eg. 6 pm news shown on guide as 6 to 7 pm. I ask it to record season daily in this time slot. When i check recordings/recurring it comes up as 4.30 pm to 8pm. The recording is one hour when it is made but the first hour from 4.30. The program guide seems correct but somehow recording does not follow the guide.

I am using epg nz to generate the xml file. My computer clock is correctly set.

Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

  dvd playback OSD?
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2009-05-06, 08:58 AM - Forum: Community Skin - Replies (2)

A few weeks ago I asked this in the Wishlist forum and got no response:

Quote:When I press ^i during DVD playback, it brings up the timeline bar but not the rest of the OSD that comes up in other playback modes - in particular I've gotten in the habit of hitting ^i to see the current time.

So my specific wishlist request would be to add the current time to the DVD-playback OSD.

But I started wondering if this is simply a skinning issue instead? Is there a setting in a skin file somewhere that would show the OSD during DVD playback just like it's shown for video playback or live tv?

This question isn't Community Skin specific of course, but this is where the skinning experts are.

Thanks.
