Last week, I recorded "Bugsy", which is a 2 1/2 hour clip with commercials with tsreader.
I wasn't able to get GBPVR to tune any channels at that time, thus I used tsreader.
I tried both VideoRedo and Womble video wizard to cut the commercials out.
I was able to cut off the last part off, earlier last monday in womble.
Attempting to cut the first commercial results in the movie being cut down to 1 1/2 hours.
VideoRedo leaves a 2 second green screen at the beginning, and womble doesn't do this.
I tried manually running comskip/comclean, but comclean just barfed with the errors.
It said something like there are no zeros at the beginning of the file.
I've since deleted the log, because I was getting logs from various applications scattered in my movies dir.
I've tried TS Packet Editor, ProjectX and am now trying Mpg2repair on the original file.
TS Packet Editor and ProjectX apparently didn't fix the errors, because when I cut the first commercial out in
both VideoRedo and womble, I had the same results as above.
I've just purchased an HDHomerun digital tuner, and I've been trying to get this sweet-looking program to run with it. There's been plenty of issues along the way which I'll no doubt have to post about tonight when I'm home from work (mainly about the fact that I have two PCs set up exactly the same, yet one of them picks up the channels in GB-PVR, and the other one can't find any!) and can get the log files etc, but I just had a couple of quick questions first
For the PC where the channels are working, i've followed instructions from sub and selected DVB as the guide and clicked Map digital channels in the config. This worked on one PC at least (except for ABC and SBS, which come through in the HDHomerun setup but not GB-PVR, but that's another problem...) and displays a guide in TV Guide. However, if I schedule a recording, they often seem to muck up somehow. For example, I recorded one show on one channel from 10:30-11:30, which also recording two other shows on another channel from 10:30-11:40 and 11:40-12:40. The show on the first channel recorded fine, but for the other two on the same channel, one of them seemed to record, but won't actually playback, and the other one plays back, but is only 35 mins long (for an hour long show). So my question here, is the fancy new Aussie TV guide actually useable, or are the times/shows mucked up somehow? A manual recording I tried to do last night seemed to work fine (except for resolution and ad issues as below)
Second question, how do I change the recording format? It seems to be recording everything in 720x576, regardless of source input, and I want widescreen. Admittedly I don't know much about this though... I'm also curious why (at least) one recording displays all vertically stretched thru GB-PVR, but plays properly in WinAmp. I've set it up currently to automatically convert recordings to DivX, if that's relevant...
Third question, is it possible to automatically remove ads from recordings (once I've got them working!)? I've seen alot on this site about plugins that create some kind of text file that tells you where the ads are, but doesn't seem to actually remove them.

Something weird is happening more and more often when I am watching TV - either the channel changes by itself, usually to an adjacent station but sometimes to one far, far, away. Or the program description pops up by itself (like pressing the blue key on a Hauppage remote)
Just wondered if anyone has ever seen this, or do I have ghoulies?
I guess the logical answer is that a neighbour must be using a remote that is affecting it - but kind of hard to beleive as the Hauppage remote sensor is very directional, and it's quite hard sometimes getting it to pick up my own remote! Or could be my Belkin Wireless KB & mouse - more likely to be that picking up signals maybe? However I have never noticed the receiver flashing as it does when getting a signal from the mouse or KB.
So I am finally going to bite the bullet and try one of these. I see several different manufacturers out there using the same NMT platform, is there one that's "best"?
Looks like the PCH A-100 and A-110 seem to be pretty popular with GB-PVR. The A-110 has some pretty poor reviews on Amazon.com, several siting hardware problems and pathetic support from the manufacturer.
Also, where's the best place to purchase? Looks like direct from the manufacturer is cheapest, although probably the slowest. I'm not in a hurry, so I don't mind waiting if I can save a few bucks.
I bought a new Dell Slim line pc(Vista). I thought I could transfer my old PVR150 card to it but I found out that its to big. So I guess I need a 1/2 height card. I would like hd, but also the ability to get the 125 analog channels. If anybody has anything similar and are happy with it could you please let me know.
Just upgraded to Vista pc. I am trying to get my ISO files to play. It's not working though. I used a script like this one in my old XP machine. Any help would be appreciated. The "Videos" directory has sharing turned on.

My DVR (specs below) stopped recording the 5/4 7:30pm showing of "How I met Your Mother" after 7 minutes and the 5/4 8:30pm showing of "Rules of Engagement" after 13 seconds.
I am guessing it is because of reception issues, but I was able to watch the rest of "Rules of Engagement" without any problems after I noticed it was not recording. Also I watched the beginning of "How I met your mother" without problems.
Can someone more senior look at the logs and tell me if there are any problems before I go out to buy a bigger antenna? I didn't see anything personally but I don't know all the things to investigate.
When trying to play a file called "K:\GBPVR\Video's\ë.mpg", the MVP crashes.
This also happens when watching a program through LiveTV with such a character (again only on MVP), for example "RTL GP Formule 1 - Maleisië_20090404_10551210".

Half my recordings for today failed. GBPVR logs look ok but Windows Event Log show that the Recording Service crashed with a .NET error faulting on wstsrtdigital.ax.
What are the relationships/differences between the below settings?
Both of these enable/disable fullscreen in PVRX2.
(1) When used together, in other words "windowed mode" unchecked and "VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive" selected, there is some slowdown.
When only one of these settings is enabling PVRX2 to go to fullscreen, the screen response seems a little faster.
(2) When I have "Show in windowed mode" selected in the General tab, and "VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive" selected in Playback tab,
exiting PVRX2 and returning to the Windows desktop results in the entire desktop covered with the "skin" from PVRX2
and the taskbar and tray are completely black. I can "recover" the taskbar items by dragging the mouse over them, and
"recover" the desktop by dragging an open application over it, like using an eraser in Photoshop.
(3) When I use "windowed mode" unchecked, and EVR selected, it seems to work, but I use Win XP and EVR isn't supposed to use hardware
acceleration in Win XP.
(4) When I use "windowed mode" unchecked, and "VMR9 Custom" selected, I don't have any of the "skin covering desktop" or black taskbar
problems.

* VMR9 Full Screen Exclusive is basically the same as VMR9, except it asks for full control of video hardware and
takes over control of the entire screen. It works a little quicker than regular VMR9 because the device isnt
having to be shared with Windows for updating the desktop etc. It has some advantages like being able to lock
to the refresh rate of the monitor, minimizing video tearing etc. VMR9 FSE and VMR9 Custom use Direct3D to draw
frames to the screen, regular VMR9 used DirectDraw.

The setting in [Misc tab] "Minimal OSD during playback" doesn't work or prevent the OSD during any of the above "Fullscreen" modes.
This only seems to work when Live TV is in a window on the desktop.
