wrong version number displayed in 'System'
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2009-05-03, 11:07 PM - Forum: Community Skin - Replies (1)

It's a minor cosmetic bug, but having installed Community-SD 4.0.1 I nonetheless see Community-SD 4.0.0 when I go into the 'System' screen.

  Another digital switchover newbie
Posted by: antialias - 2009-05-03, 10:33 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I've seen a ton of posts with similar questions but am having trouble piecing together my exact situation and understanding what I should do to get a similar experience to what I had with analog.

Currently I've got 2 PVR 150s but we've just stopped using them since Comcast switched to the Digital converter boxes for channels over 31 mainly due to lack of time so far to mess with a new setup. I am looking at the HVR 2250 since it has dual tuners. I only need the extended basic channels (food network for the wife, cartoon network for the kids and a couple others mainly). With the clear QAM channels will I need to bother with an IR blaster or can I get all those channels directly off the cable line? I'm in Vancouver Washington on Comcast but I haven't seen any list of the clear QAM channels(though I've heard that all the channels available through the small box they give you are clear QAM)?

What's my best route for getting a dual recording setup with the least hassle? Is the 2250 the best option for what I need? Thanks!

  Record in 640 X 480?
Posted by: Falco - 2009-05-03, 09:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Is there a way to record 640 X 480? I've checked the config utility and there are no 4 X 3 options? Is there some way I can build a recording preset from scratch?

  Hauppauge Nova -s Codecs
Posted by: PTW96 - 2009-05-03, 09:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Could someone please point me in the right direction.

I am a NZ user and have two tuner cards

Hauppauge Nova -s
and
ATI Theatre 550 Pro

When I watch live tv with the Hauppauge, I get green patch's and when I record I get no sound.

I know this is to do with codecs and have searched everywhere I can think of. But I seem to be missing the answers.

Should I be using TS Mux?
Which Codecs are available?

Many thanks

Peter

  Live TV - black screen
Posted by: lamiral - 2009-05-03, 08:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (21)

I am using a TV card Hauppage HVR4000, with analog TV cable as the signal source.
I was able to create the list of all channels, and EPG, using an xmltv file.
I had to use mc2xml to create the xmltv file. Could the issue come from the file, any suggestion how to check it?
Thanks,
Lamiral

Cannot use GraphRecorder's "Live Preview" commandline
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2009-05-03, 08:23 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (5)

Can anyone tell me if there is any way to set *some* stations to use LivePreview when possible, and *other* stations to always use timeshift?

The reason I ask is that I have been unable to make use of the "Live Preview" commandline. When I try to launch a process as a result of selecting a streaming station for live preview, the internal player just gets stuck on a black screen. Everything is fine in Timeshift. I suspect that streaming stations from the Internet is simply incompatible with the notion of a "live preview." However:

Is it possible that the player is expecting the file to be in a different folder for Live Preview than for Timeshift? If so, how do I find that folder, and how do I set my process to distinguish between being launched for Timeshift and launched for LivePreview?

  EPG update.bat
Posted by: DanielP - 2009-05-03, 04:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

Sorry if I am missing something obvious here, but is there a way to get GBPVR to only update the EPG via update.bat once per week? I am having trouble making machines go back to sleep after the daily EPG update (which isn't really necessary).

Would it be a case of setting the GBPVR update options to "never", and just running update EPG.bat as a weekly scheduled task??

  Tevion/Philips VS-TV7131 Analog card
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2009-05-03, 12:49 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

I have an old Tevion/Philips VS-TV7131 Analog card that I would love to get working with GBPVR. I know that analog is "nearly gone", but there is a local community station that will not convert right away, our building has a security monitor on the feed and, most importantly, the card includes an external capture input that I want to use.

The card is branded Tevion, but the driver comes up as Philips. Does anyone know anything about this card, OR any generic means to coax an analog card to life?

  Recordings stop
Posted by: charleybot - 2009-05-03, 12:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello,

I have been using GBPVR for a long time now, and I love this program!!

I upgraded to the latest GBPVR 1.3.11 a few weeks ago and had no problems. A few days ago my wife decides to tell me that her recordings are not working right , it records, but it will stop right in the middle of a show or even 3/4 of the way through it, sometimes it doesn't record at all.

Looking at all the log files I cannot find any errors or failures, the only thing I can find is in the XP application event log file, which says:

Faulting application bdaremotedevice.exe, version 1.0.0.0, stamp 00000038, faulting module msvcr80.dll, version 8.0.50727.3053, stamp 4889d619, debug? 0, fault address 0x000173f7.

Again the GBPVR log files do not even show an error at the time this occurs, or even any errors around the timeframe this happens, it's just like GBPVR thinks that everything is running normally.

I am running a xp pro system with 2 Twinhan 1020a's, which have been running great for me, I even tried another program (dvbdream) and recorded mutiple shows without any issues.

My wife will usually record 2 shows at a time, and last night I tried to record one show for a test and the above error message is the only thing I could find.

any ideas?

Thank You

  Hauppauge HVR-1200 SoftMCE troubles

Hi Sub,

I'm trying to get the HVR-1200 working on my new Vista rig, and have difficulty getting GBPVR to line up the dots.

I keep getting errors in GBPVR about the encoder not working.
