Problem playing ISO files - Sound but no video
Posted by: mustclimb14ers - 2009-04-16, 04:15 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

I have been using mythtv for about a year, but recently switched to gbpvr. While I like mythtv, gbpvr is much easier to setup. I have gbpvr setup and running great. Thanks for this great app. My only question is regarding ISO files. I created a custom task in the config to rip a dvd to the hard drive (in ISO format) using dvd decryptor. The task works great and rips the ISO to my hard drive. I have also setup daemon tools in the config to play the ISO through gbpvr. When I play the ISO in gbpvr (through the videos plugin) the previews and the menu play great. But when I click, "play" to start the movie I get no video. I can hear the sound but see no video. Does anyone know what is causing this? I can get around this by going into the chapters menu and clicking on chapter 2 and skipping back to the beginning of chapter 1. Then I get video and sound. But if click on chapter 1 then I get the same (sound but not video) as when I hit "play" in the dvd menu. Is the a codec issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Record and Shutdown - a new recording mode
Posted by: shadowze - 2009-04-16, 01:33 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (22)

feature request : Record and Shutdown

A new recording mode

Preamble:

A user wishes to record a program late at night (they will be asleep when recording happening)
They would like the recording to finish and after the recording has finished they want the
PC to shutdown to save electricity and the planet ....

Potential issues:
What if a user uses postprocessing.bat to do some handling after the recording?

1. If gbpvr knows when ever a postprocessing.bat has fininshed it can wait until then
then initiate a computer shutdown.

If 1 not possible

2. A timewait variable controlled through config.xml eg <shutdowndelay>3</shutdowndelay>
this would trigger a shutdown 3 minutes after the recording has finished.

Any chance of implementing this ?

  codecs codecs codecs
Posted by: gbpvriwanna - 2009-04-16, 01:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Sub,

Based on most of the posts I’ve read where users are having issues, it seems like the culprit has been the codec, or the lack there of.

So, can you please suggest which codec to use for each of the options in the Config | playback tab? Whether they cost $0 or otherwise, which ones work, or is best suited, or which ones you use?

Thanks.

Hauppauge PVR 150 record level high
Posted by: shaunpatrick77 - 2009-04-16, 01:16 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hi

Does anyone know how to turn down the record volume on a pvr150 with the latest drivers? (2_0_48_25037) For soem reason latley my recordings seem louder to the point that they clip, yet live tv through the same card is fine. Its just the recordings.

I managed to find the old tweak tool but it seemed to make the problem worse! Does anyone know the right registry settings?

Thanks,
Shaun

Sub - an offer of help
Posted by: imilne - 2009-04-16, 12:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Sub,

I'd like to make the following offer if it would be of help (to both you and other UK users of GB-PVR)...

Regardless of people actually experiencing problems, either once a week/month, I can grab full .ts recordings of however many MBs you want from each of the six UK DVB-T multiplexes and store the files on a server that is connected 24/7 at 100Mbps. No logins or faffing about etc, just standard directory listings that you can point a browser at.

The same can be done for one or more satellite transponders (freesat/fta, astra only). Doing them all is probably a bit impractical, but I'm still getting my head around DVB-S and how it works.

Please let me know if this would be useful.

  Controlling a motorised dish
Posted by: hatterman - 2009-04-16, 12:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi

I posted in the hardware section but think it might be the wrong place !!

About to install 2 x Nova-DVB-S cards, a motorised dish and a dual (or quad) LNB.

Think the instructions here are straight forward enough for setting up DVB-S :-

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Confi...HDTVSource

My question is, I see in the screenshot on the above link a DiSEqC tab (greyed out) and would like to know if this config page in the application has settings for controlling a motorised dish. If it does, how do I actually input the different parameters for pointing the dish a certain direction for any given channel.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Is anybody using a motorised dish ?

Thanks in advance.

Chris.

PVR 150 Audio out of sync on analog live tv
Posted by: yeled1976 - 2009-04-16, 10:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hey guys
i would like to say thanks in advance for any assitance you can give me on this.
i have a core 2 dual with 2GB mem and 2 PVR 150 MCE capture cards.
i am running a clean XP with only GBPVR installed.
i can record 2 shows at once and play 2 shows at once.
i can record and watch a HD movie without any high CPU or memory usage

but most of the time i watch live tv (analog only - antenna cable directly to the pvr 150), the audio and video are synced but after 2 minutes there is a growing delay. i then go back to the guide and watch again. it started ok and then the delay keeps growing and growing.
it happenes if i press "play" on the remote/enter the menu and select "watch". or move between the channels during live tv.
the only way i can watch live tv is to record the show and then wait a few seconds and start to watch the recording. then it is all ok.
i tried it with only one PVR card ( no change).
i tried it on a clean XP install ( no change).
i removed all the decoders and installed only ffdshow. (no change).
this happens most of the time on the same channels but that may be only an illusion.

i am pretty sure this has nothing to do with CPU, memory, hard disk speed or decoders as i have a friend with a more powerful setup and he use the RCA connector ( or S-video - tried them both) - and he has the same problem.

can anyone help or stir me in the right direction?

i am using the analog recording plugin and tried all the "quality profile settings" but still no dice

  Corrupt display starting PVRX2 (newbie)
Posted by: DeanNZ - 2009-04-16, 08:33 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I can preview channels OK via the tuning assistant but when I start PVRX2 the display is corrupt. I can see the Browse the TV guide ... at the bottom but anything in the middle blue part of the display is corrupt.

I have Hauppauge 150 and Nvidia GeForce 6600GT video cards. The 6600GT is running the latest drivers (dated 27/3/2009) while the 150 is running
3.4D1 (?).

Changing the video renderer doesn't seem to make any difference (except I cannot use EVR at all.

Is my problem with the 6600 drivers, the 150 drivers or a mux issue? Is the overlay manager important or is it a red herring?

Thanks

Dean

  Patching
Posted by: lemming - 2009-04-16, 05:53 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi

If I download the 1.3.11 installer now, does it need patching as per the survival guide, or have they been applied as problems discovered??

Cheers

Chris
