  Pocket PC Remote For gbPVR
Posted by: CornStopper - 2009-04-15, 08:08 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I've writte this app in eVB that functions as a remote for gbPVR. The system is comprised of two appliactions, the 1st being a application written in VB6 and listens on a port for commands, which are then sent to gbPVR using a send keys method. The reason I have not do this as a plugin, woould have to learn C# and then plugin writing for gbPVR, and wanted it now.

The 2nd app is written in eVB and is installed on your pocket PC.

Here are some screens shots of the remote app.

The remote app has been tested on a HP IPAQ hx2410.

If there is sufficient interest in this, I will tidy and boot strap the code and make it more flexible (less hard coded). Write some install and usage instructions, and post a download link or request a wiki link. Will post binary and source for both applications.

  Remote desktop over the internet
Posted by: McBainUK - 2009-04-15, 07:48 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (18)

I'm looking at ways and applications that will allow my to control my GB-PVR box from work over the internet with the minimum of fuss.

Requirements are:

  • Preferably free or very low cost.
  • Able to get through a rather restrictive company network policy (port 80 is open and that's about it).
  • Decent performance, no lag, easy to view screen etc.
  • File transfer features would be nice but not essential.
  • As secure as reasonably possible.
  • Browser based view option would be nice but again, not essential.
Any suggestions?

any else in so cal lose NBC tonight?
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2009-04-15, 05:01 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

as the title says, I lost all the NBC4 digital channels tonight, both on GB-PVR and my ATSC TV. The signal strength meter on the ATSC TV says I'm getting anywhere from 20 to 30 (out of 100), while all the other channels get 80 to 100. In other words, the NBC signal isn't even close to good enough. Nothing has changed in my antenna setup, and I've never once had a problem with NBC before, so I'm just wondering if this happened for anyone else too?

  Blu Ray Over S-vid
Posted by: enigmo - 2009-04-14, 10:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Yep, weird title and possibly daft question Smile I've just upgraded almost everything in my PVR box and will be dropping in a BD-ROM drive pretty soon. However, I don't yet have a HDTV and was wondering if I tried playing a BR disc, would HDCP stop it playing via the S-VID out on my gfx card, or would there be an issue with resolutions that stops it outputting via S-VID (yes, I know I won't get high def res over svhs, but I'm OK with SD for the time being). Also, will I need much more than 1GB RAM for HD playback?
Gfx: ATI Radeon 4850 (svid connection to SD TV)
CPU: C2D 6550 (stock)

Combine 1600 ATSC & Sat SD / Channel Changing
Posted by: noremac74 - 2009-04-14, 09:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi all,
first let me apologize if this is somewhere else, but I'm having a hard time getting this going.

I have 2 epg listings in Schedules Direct. (ATSC & Dish SD)

How do I combine the EPG info of those two listings to one listing?

How do I map the ATSC channels to EPG Channels? (If needed)

How do I change the ATSC channels without changing the Dish SD channel? (Using Hauppauge Silver 45 button remote)

Is there a free epg alternative to Schedules Direct when I end up dropping Dish SD?

Again sorry if this is posted somewhere else.

Thanks for all your help!

  no show details
Posted by: tjc - 2009-04-14, 08:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I am using an ATI Visiontek dual tuner, with one cable source and one OTA source. I have been using mc2xml for the cable epg and zap2it for the ota epg. All worked fine for several months until last week, now no show details for the ota channels. I haven't changed any settings, I have tried two other scrapers (MSN_XMLTV_scraper_V.65 and mc2xml for the Antenna) but no success. Tried empty epg and then update epg, the cable channel descriptions are all there, but none of the digital channels. Can someone help? Do I need to send log files? Thanks in advance.

Even though "no show details" displays in the guide, if I tune to any of the available digital channels, live tv works just fine, so the channel mapping is correct? For the last week I have been using the "manual rec" method for setting up my recordings, kind of a pain.

Posted by: dabravokid - 2009-04-14, 06:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hello all,

Really sorry about this, just wipped my old setup and made a fresh start with xp server and vista ultimate 64 client, server is running fine but on the vista the app starts but will not show guide or play tv, you click on the links and it flashes briefly but doesn't do anything. Thanks in advance for help.

my QAM channels are mapped to my OTA schedule using mc2xml through titantv...
It was working fine until 2-3 days ago the listing info was gone, analog still shows my channels, but I think I used microsoft for those...
Anyone else having issues getting channel info through titantv?
Or did titantv change something?

Audio on some channels is bad
Posted by: pduncan67 - 2009-04-14, 06:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

lately I have noticed some recordings have 'bad' audio - you can hear it fine, but on 'loud' spikes it gets fuzzy sounding. This is only true for a handful of channels. Any ideas?

  MPC-HC filters under GB-PVR
Posted by: hoborg - 2009-04-14, 05:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi.
Is there a way to add support for MPC-HC audio and video decoders?
I mean in GB-PVR config.
