Comcast just called and told me they were going to upgrade me to the digital cable package at no cost to me. So, I need to upgrade my tuner to record my new digital channels. I currently have an ATI 550Pro in there. Which I may leave to have additional recording capabilities, or install it in my other machine. Either way, what would you suggest? I was looking at the Hauppauge 2250, which should do the job, right? Any thing else I should look at?

I am a bit out of the loop when it comes to digital recording formats here in the US of A, how would my streams be saved (what compression, container, etc.)?

I wonder if you can spot what error may be causing the EPG to not empty itself during the overnight EPG update?
The "production" server was running the previous version so I thought I'd better update to the current before asking - same error.

Sources are:-
DVB-1 BDA DVB-T xmltv EPG
DVB-2 BDA DVB-T same xmltv EPG as above
RF1 PVR150 analogue terrestrial same EPG as above
Sat PVR150 analogue from STB same EPG as above
S350 BDA DVB-S same EPG as above

I tried yesyterday with the last source as NO EPG with the same result (but smaller log!).

any thoughts most welcome as the occasional Radio Times EPG shifts of a few minutes are getting annoying on the display (I've not seen them for a long time until now).

Sub I was recording two shows and it looks like when one ended, the video duration got set to zero and I had to exit. Log attached.

I recently replaced my broken PVR250 card with a HVR1950 box. It works fine with Hauppauge's software. I couldn't get my old GBPRV, v0.99.5 to work in Live TV mode, so I decided to upgrade to v1.3.11. I have managed to get LiveTV to work OK. I also have downloaded EPG and the TV Guide shows the array of programs.

Next, I set up one of the upcoming programs to record, but when the time came, nothing happened. The little icon (G) didn't turn green, as it usually does, and no file appeared in the appropriate folder. Also, during the recording time, while looking at "Pending", it says it is recording. Double clicking on this entry, I then clicked on "play", but play did not occur. Yet, if I click on LiveTV, up comes the program I'm supposed to be recording.

What am I missing? Thanks, for any help.

I just started using GB-PVR on my HTPC and my wife and I LOVE it! Currently we're using a wireless mouse (and keyboard) to control the machine. We've been wondering if there was any way to remap the video controls to better fit the mouse (rather than a remote).

Ideally we'd like to be able to left click or space to pause/play the videos as well as turn off the right click to jump back to the menu (we've accidentally done that a LOT of times now).

A scan shows the 3 radio stations I get here, and trying to play them appears to work (things pause for a bit as the tuner is initialised as it does for TV), but I get no sound. I can stop ok and play TV. TV is working fine, with audio.

I've installed and registered the lame.ax file as per the wiki.

Here are the logs.

I've verified that the vlc arguments work with the tv station link if the link and the arguments are given directly to vlc. I have a station showing up in my channel guide. The problem is perhaps with the mapping between the channel number and the link. In the log it looks like this:

Well, I am about to give up. I cannot get a proper EPG no matter what I try. I've completely re-installed Vista and GBPVR. I've tried with and without Windows Firewall. I've verified my settings in Schedules Direct (and of course in the Config app). The recording service interacts with the desktop. I only have a simple ATSC over the air setup. I get the channels fine, but I only get--sometimes--a couple of hours of EPG data. I have no idea where else to look. Anybody got any suggestions?

Hi folks, I have an older 1 Ghz PIII machine with the Intel 815 chipset which I would like to use as a client to my main PVR box. I only want to be able to watch standard def TV from my bedroom, so am hoping this box is grunty enough to do the job. The PC is a Compaq iPAQ PC, which does not have any slots for a new video card.

The problem I have is that GBPVR will launch, but the menu screen never comes up. Instead I get a "frozen" version of the desktop.

In the PVRX2.exe-native.log I get the following error:

Now, according to Intel's documentation, the 810 and 815 chipsets don't support overlay at 720 x 480. They do support overlay at 640 x 480, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768 and higher resolutions, just not at 720 x 480. I suspect that the GBPVR menu is trying to draw at 720 x 480 which is not supported by the 815 chipset for overlay.

Anyone had experience with this problem?
