Just upgraded to 1.03.11 and PVRX2.exe won't start.

Just upgraded to 1.03.11 and PVRX2.exe won't start, the screen will flicker a bit, and then return to the desktop. It was working before on 1.02.something. Attached are the logs. Thanks Sub!

Graphrecorder will not stop after 5 minutes
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2009-04-05, 06:53 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

I am using Graphrecorder to stream some stations in over the web. I can launch processes to start and stop my programs, and the player picks up the file reliably. However, if I don't stop within five minutes, only the player itself stops: the process that kills the stream is not launched, and the stream continues to download. Graphrecorder and Externalrecorder act in exactly the same way.

Timeshift mode stops every five minutes
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2009-04-05, 05:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (21)

It's taken me a long time, but I have finally seen a pattern to a problem I've been having.

Because I can't seem to get THMpgMUX.ax installed correctly, live preview does not work for me. I have been using Timeshift instead.

However, Timeshift using my DVB-T tuner boots me out into the menu every five minutes like clockwork. I have read elsewhere that users are booted when using timeshift, but this seems related to the changeover of the file every 30 minutes or so; My problem happens every five minutes, almost to the second.

I am also using Graphrecorder to stream some stations in over the web. I can launch processes to start and stop my programs, and the player picks up the file reliably. However, if I don't stop within five minutes, only the player itself stops: the process that kills the stream is not launched, and the stream continues to download. Graphrecorder and Externalrecorder act in exactly the same way.

I am posting this as a core component problem because I have timed carefully, and the times are five minutes to the second in both cases. In other words, I believe that if I can solve the problem when using the DVB-T tuner, it will solve the other problem automatically.

I am running windows vista ultimate x64, a hauppage wintv pvr pci ii tuner in my computer and i am having a problem. I was recently able to view my tv signal through my cable box with about a 5-10 second delay in windows media center, however once this stopped working i downloaded gb-pvr. i have the most recent drivers from the hauppage website (which arent very recent) and im trying to get GB-PVR to work, but im having a very hard time doing so. please help!

Moved MVP, now have stutter issues
Posted by: pcrosley - 2009-04-05, 01:34 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

I had my MVP wired into my HTPC originally. Everything worked fine.

Now I've decided to use it in the BR connected to my wireless router. Connection comes up fine but when I play LiveTV or Recordings I get stutters about every 2 seconds.

This isn't a GBPVR issue, however, because the Hauppauge server has the same problem.

But I've attached some logs if anyone can help me unravel where the problem lies, or tell me how to troubleshoot deeper into it.

Recurring recordings not picking up all shows
Posted by: imagn - 2009-04-05, 01:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (38)

Not sure how to diagnos or how to see if there is a problem, but i have a recurring recording set to record all episodes of "Without a Trace" I happend to be looking thought the guide and saw that this coming weeks episode was not highlighted in red as if it were scheduled to record.

I checked to see if the recurring show name was different but all seemed to match up.

Any idea why this happened and how to correct it?

  FreeviewHD - TV3 - why AC3??
Posted by: psycik - 2009-04-04, 11:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Sub, I've got my DVB-T tuners set to use TV3 - not TVC (AC3).

For Live preview it does what I want, it uses the monogram codec.

But why for recordings does it use the AC3? I've had to tell ac3filter to not use spdif for AC3

  CS3 still available?
Posted by: JP23 - 2009-04-04, 05:59 PM - Forum: Community Skin - Replies (4)

Hi,
I'm doing a fresh install of windows on my HTPC, but I would prefer not to use the CS4 pre relase just yet. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of the last version of CS3 and the appropriate skin plugin if possible?

Any help would be much appreciated.

  Video Issue
Posted by: chemie - 2009-04-04, 12:26 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

So I solved my audio issue by uninstalling the Purevideo stuff and installed mpv/mpa decoders. This solved audio but I am back to video issues.

The video quality is the problem. Where a solid color should be, it is very "blotchy"; off color in swirls. I figured it was a compression issue but I ran a test outside of gbpvr where I run video in IE via Netflix. I have the same issue. This means it is not a encoding or source issue. It is either graphics (Nvidia GF6800) or decoding.

I suspect decoding since that is only thing that has changed on my system (had to reinstall WIndows XP).

Ideas? Where next? (I did search these forums but it is hard to nail down the right search terms without getting way too many posts....)

Old chestnut - MSI Mega Sky USB mini
Posted by: MikeT - 2009-04-04, 11:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello,

I'm unfortunate enough to own the above DVB-T stick and want to use it through GB-PVR which looks far more capable than the pee-poor excuse of bundled software Presto PVR.

But, like others before, I'm having problems getting GBPVR to work with it. I've read all I can on this forum regarding this tuner and tried all the suggestions but am getting nowhere fast and wasting time.

Basically, I know the tuner is working and reception is good as I get over 60 channels using Presto software.

I can (sometimes) get a successful channel scan and EPG using GBPVR config but when I try to view LiveTV it comes up with No Signal - check aerial strength.

As I say, GBPVR looks like the sort of software I'd enjoy using but I've lost confidence in it now and even if I can get it working in LiveTV I'm a bit miffed why it can only detect 57 channels.

Can anyone solve this problem for me or shall I give up?

p.s. I forgot to add, scanning for EPG data after scanning for channels invariably results in the program crashing.
