Using Hauppauge remote without focus via IR.exe
Posted by: JP23 - 2009-04-06, 07:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi,

After reading these threads:http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ling+focus & http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=28744

I'm trying to use the irremote.ini posted by gkovacsp on page 2 of the second thread (posted below), but I get no response whatsoever from my remote, even from the power button, for which the code seems to be identical to that in my old and working irremote.ini.

Does anyone have any idea what's going wrong?
I have the 45 button Hauppauge remote attached to a NovaT500 pci card, and the version of Hauppauge's remote software that came on the supplied disk (Version 3.4E).

Do I need a different version of this, or to install something additional?

Code:
[Default] GRNPOWER={run(C:\Progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\PVRX2.exe)} 0={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,48,0)} 1={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,49,0)} 2={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,50,0)} 3={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,51,0)} 4={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,52,0)} 5={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,53,0)} 6={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,54,0)} 7={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,55,0)} 8={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,56,0)} 9={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,57,0)} CHNLPREV={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131159,0)} NAVDOWN={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,40,0)} NAVUP={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,38,0)} NAVLEFT={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,37,0)} NAVRIGHT={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,39,0)} OK={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,13,)} GO= {findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,122,0)} FASTFWD= {findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131142,0)} REWIND= {findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131140,0)} BACK= {findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,27,0)} SKIPFWD= {findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131111,0)} SKIPREV= {findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131109,0)} MENU= {findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,36,0)} PLAY= {findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131152,0)} PAUSE= {findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131153,0)} STOP= {findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131155,0)} REC={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131147,0)} MUTE={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131149,0)} CHNLUP={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,33,0)} CHNLDOWN={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,34,0)} FUNC={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131151,0)} GUIDE={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,112,0)} TV={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,113,0)} VIDEOS={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,114,0)} MUSIC={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,115,0)} PICTURES={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,116,0)} RADIO={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,117,0)} TEXT={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131151,0)} VOLUP={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131179,0)} VOLDOWN={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131181,0)} RED={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131154,0)} GREEN={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131143,0)} YELLOW={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131161,0)} BLUE={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131138,0)} TEXT={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,131156,0)} SUBCC={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,118,0)}

  MP4 Conversion not working
Posted by: bmurrell - 2009-04-06, 06:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I can record things ok, and have set the mp4 conversion to convert immediately. An empty MP4 file is created, but nothing more. I've tried doing "conversion processing" at a later time, but this doesn't work either.
I've not modified the config file, but it looks correct based on other postings.

Have I not setup gbpvr correctly ?

I take it I can't record straight to mp4, but only ts.

  All Digital Recordings Fail
Posted by: DenverDon - 2009-04-06, 05:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Due to a hardware failure I was forced to rebuild my PVR computer from scratch (Formally working perfectly!). Now I can not record any digital channels from the HDHomerun.

System:
Windows Media Center 2005 fully updated (SP3)
ATI Radeon HD 3400
Hauppauge PVR 150 Driver: 2.0.48.25037
Hauppauge PVR 500 Driver: 2.0.48.25037
HDHomerun Firmware: 20090305a
GBPVR 1.3.11
Cyberlink PowerDVD 9

Any attempt to record from the HDHomerun creates a 6K .DVR-MS or a 0K .ts file. I have tried DVR-MS, TS-Mux and full TS.

I can watch live TV from the HDHomerun via PVRX2 just fine, just don't attempt to pause it!

The logs are for an attempt to record "The Young and the Restless" at 11:32. I stopped the recording at 11:34. The results were 2 DVR-MS files.

Any ideas what I forgot to install or configure?

Thanks in advance,
-- Don

ZTranscode session not killed from MVP
Posted by: mjpsr11 - 2009-04-06, 02:19 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I finally have ZProcess running (and with all the right aspect ratios Big Grin) on my MVP, but GPPVR doesn't seem to kill a (ZTranscode) process on my OS when I select either stop or exit/back on my remote. The mencoder process will also continue to run until the file is completly transcoded.

Also, after starting a process (selecting a video file) then selecting a new file (after pressing stop or exit/back from the first), the first file starts over but a new session of ZTranscode initiates giving me two process IDs in my task manager. This propogates for each new process or selection of a new file and none of the initiated ZTranscode processes ever die.

The result is that I can't view a different video file after the first one and eventually, my CPU runs to 100% capacity. I finally have to manually kill the processes in task manager.

It looks like GPPVR should be killing ZTranscode (and Mencoder) once MVP gives it the stop signal. Anyone else having this strange issue? Perhaps my installation of ZProcess or config.xml is amiss? Any way for me to run diagnostic on my installation?

  Channel Scan doubles up channels
Posted by: bmurrell - 2009-04-06, 12:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I'm using a Hauppauge WinTV-Nova TD-500.
A channel scan gets plenty of channels, but some are labeled with "Audio #2", although strangely no sound can be heard when selecting those channels. Also, the EPG gets no information for primary channels, so BBC1 thru Ch5 has no EPG, so I browse the EPG for the "Audio #2" channels, then create a manual recording against the primary. Thirdly, recordings aren't automatically converted to MP4, although a file is created with the correct name (this probably another post). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  GBPVR presentation client-only?
Posted by: Innocence - 2009-04-06, 08:55 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (13)

Now that my GB-PVR recording server is working with multiple tuners, I'm looking for a couple of small inexpensive mini-pc's to handle GB-PVR client presentation of SD/HD recorded material and Live TV from the server to to our TV sets/amps.

Originally I wanted to go for the PCH, but I've been warned it's unable to display DVB subtitles, which is a *must*. Shame, cause it's a really nice piece of hardware Sad

I've got Gigabit wired connection, need HDMI and SPDIF optical out (TV+surround amp). Classic setup I guess.

Any recommendations?

MVP now supports vista - can it be used in GBPVR?
Posted by: jasjol - 2009-04-06, 07:02 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

Hauppauge now has upgraded MVP dongle so that it works in Vista.

I have had to use Win Mediacenter without my MVP for about 1 year now - and I miss my GBPVR functionality and to use MVP to start recordings etc.

(My XP computer broke down and I bought a new with Vista - I never got to get the MVPMC dongle to work for me so I had to use MediaCenter)

I now tested MVP with the new software and I can use the basic interface from Hauppauge to view MpEG on my Vista computer.
DVR-Ms files show a green on them but if I convert them to normal mpg everything works.

I reallly would like to get back to using GBPVR again - is it possible to use the new Vista dongle in GBPVR?

  Some Recordings Are Not Occurring?
Posted by: Anthony - 2009-04-06, 04:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

For the past week or two I've suspected some shows weren't being recorded, and have now confirmed this to be true. I checked my logs and see this error for various failed recordings:

"ERROR [5] Error starting recording: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Length cannot be less than zero."

I have no idea what this means, so I am attaching my logs to see if you can determine the cause.

Thanks!

Anthony

  Resolving Conflicts - question
Posted by: pduncan67 - 2009-04-06, 04:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

If I have a program scheduled to record every night, and then when resolving conflicts, cancel it, will that cancel the other (future) recordings of that program or just the conflicted one?

  Trouble with Live TV
Posted by: toocool - 2009-04-06, 03:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi ya,

I have recently been tring to use GBPVR for the first time and am having an issues with liveTV.

If I try to watch Live TV using the VMR9 the picture is ok however sometimes it will shutter at ramdom times. I have tried a number of different decoders

Intervideo
MPV
Nvidia
FFdshow

MPV seems the best.

I notice that the CPU is running flat out (a P4 2ghz M processor, 1gb ram, 64mg intel video card, xp, laptop) so read that overlay using less processing.

If I swap to Overlay the system will continually stop and start the pvr daemon ever few seconds and it requires me to kill the process (nothing in the event viewer), I never get to see the picture or any sound. However if I uncheck "Use live preview mode where possible" the shutter stops completely but now it is recording the channel and wont let me change channels. Perhaps it is doing what it is suppose to....not sure.

I have already rollback to the previous version of quartz.dll 9.0B

I am very new at it and have been going around in circles a little I think.

Any help would be much appreciated. I am australia based if it is needed

Cheers Stu
