white flashing lines at top of digital channels?
Posted by: jdabling - 2009-04-04, 08:03 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Hey all,

I've got some white flashing lines at the top of some (not all) of my digital channels (OTA), but never the analog OTA channels. Attached is a screenshot that shows a single frame - you can see faded white lines at the top. They are much more noticeable when they are moving around at the top of the image, sort of like visual noise.

Is this my hardware? I don't think it's software (GBPVR), as I am pretty sure this showed up in media center as well.

Any ideas?

  MVP issue after upgrade
Posted by: jathef - 2009-04-04, 04:49 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

I just upgraded my install from 1.3.7 to 1.3.11 and now my MVPs do not work. When they boot up they can't find a streaming server. Before the upgrade they were working properly. Logs are attached and here are some things I tried already:

1. Disabled firewall on client machines.
2. Verified DHCP is working properly on LAN.
3. Restarted computer and MVPs several times.

Now I did install VMWare server on my machine a few weeks ago and everything has been working fine since then. I read in another post that the functionality for the MVPs could be binding to another adapter. VMWare installed two additional adapters so I deleted them (did not need them anyhow) but that did not help.

Any ideas?

default TV guide - can I get it to default to "watch"?
Posted by: jdabling - 2009-04-03, 10:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

So, using the default TV guide that installs with GBPVR, when I click on a show in the listings, instead of tuning to that show immediately, as I am used to with a commercial DVR I have, it brings up a menu, and I then have to go click "watch". Can I get it to just default to tuning to the show directly upon clicking on it from the guide? Or, if not, does someone know if one of the other guide plugins might behave this way?

My preferred operation would be a single click on a show would highlight the show, enabling a right-click (or 'i' button on remote) to bring up options or show information, and a double-click would immediately tune to the show.

Can I get it to behave something like that?

  Gaps in TV Listings
Posted by: taz - 2009-04-03, 06:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

I am having problems with gaps (no data available) in my TV listings. I look at the xml file and it looks like everything is there, but the shows are always in the correct order. For example, the first show in the list on a particular channel is actually for a week in the future. Then it will start with the shows in order from now until the end of the schedule. In TV listings, it shows no data available until the first show in the list, then has the shows that are on after that. Is this normal for GBPVR? Do the listings in the xml file for each channel need to be in chronilogical order? XML file attached with some channels removed for file size.

UltraXMLTV Enhancer Version 2 - Release Candidate
Posted by: zehd - 2009-04-03, 06:01 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

UltraXMLTV Enhancer Version 2 - Release Candidate

I've just moved Ultra into Release Candidate.

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/UltraXMLTV2

Just what Is UltraXMLTV?
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...MLTV2#toc1

During this stage I invite new users and Ultra version1 users alike to start using Version 2. I want it to be as painless as possible to install, so if you're having any trouble with the install, I want to jump all over that...

If you've used Ultra Version 1, you will probably want to backup or delete your Version 1 folder. I strongly suggest installing Version 2 into its own empty folder.

Version 2 is a complete rewrite of UltraXMLTV Enhancer version 1. It is written in VB .net.

Version 2 is faster and more efficient in its online web queries for Season/Episode number searches. (Though the very first time using it, Ultra will take some time as it downloads and fills a brand new cache...

Almost all of the features Version 1 had, are now replicated, if not, improved. If there is something that I missed, that you rely on, let me know... Other requests will be worked on in further releases.

Much of the instructions for installation and initial use are complete on the new wiki page. But I will also be using this time to add more information, to answer many of the questions that new users may have; questions I hadn't foreseen...

Any trouble, please post in this thread:

Thanks to all for helping me get this released, and everyone's continued support and interest..

  QAM and the 2250
Posted by: cgilson33 - 2009-04-03, 02:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (52)

I've got my 2250 up and running and showing all my local QAM channels in WinTV. (BTW i'm using it for analog cable and clear QAM)
After my initial attempt to setup GBPVR 1.3.11, I set up 4 capture devices Analog 1 and 2 (device numbers 1 and 2)

Question: I have only one 2250 installed and when i add an analog device and check the "show only installed tuner" box it shows that I have the 2200 also, is this the analog part of the device or do they just both show up?

I am using MC2XML to scrape from titantv and the channels show up correctly. However I thought there would be some sort of scan so I haven't checked to see if the analog channels were coming through ok.

And I setup the other two... QAM 1 and 2 (capture devices 1 and 2).

When i attempt the mapping it doesn't find any QAM channels. Any ideas why?
Also, I used the same xmltv file, thinking i would map the channels to the corresponding analog scheduling data, is this a correct assumption? if not, where do i get QAM data or is there any way to attach guide data from one channel to another? If so, how do I map the data to schedule my HD or digital recordings?

I have tried reading some threads about setting up the 2250 and other devices but most seem to be using older versions of GBPVR.
so i wanted to get it straight.

Thanks in advance,
cdg

Open GBPVR with MCE Windows Button?
Posted by: gamerguy76 - 2009-04-03, 04:45 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

Is it possible to override the windows button on a MCE remote control so it will open up GBPVR? The button currently opens windows media center, which I don't want to use. I know you can do it with HIP, but I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something easy in the registry or ini file.

Click on "live TV" and it wants to install something??
Posted by: jdabling - 2009-04-03, 03:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I don't know what I did... honest. I was messing with the channel mappings and such, and now, when I try to open config - it brings up a little installation-type window with the status bar at the bottom saying "configuring GB-PVR" - like it's trying to install somehing. It never gets anywhere, and then opens config. If I go into PVRx2, when I try to go to live TV, it pulls up the same kind of window - but if I kill the little window (by hitting "cancel") then the pvrx2 window goes all black, and I have to kill the whole program.

I thought it might be some UAC thing, so I have turned that off temporarily - but the effect is the same.

Help. Attached are the logs.
