Netflix Watch Now Plugin use Keyboard or Hauppauge Remote
Posted by: Snooze - 2009-03-23, 11:18 PM - Forum: Netflix Watch Now - Replies (7)

I stumbled across this on SageTV Website. http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38969

I tried it out for my Hauppauge 45 button Remote that runs my HVR-1600.

Scroll down on the first post until you read about "Using keyboard to control Netflix Control without EventGhost:"

EDIT: I used netflix_control_v2_test3.zip on page 3, post 44 of the link above (v0.9 on the first post would not take advantage of skip for programs with multiple episodes), modified my IRRemote.ini file in the two places it said, and added Netflix_Control.exe to startup folder to start on boot. Whala! Smile

Also be aware to fast forward or rewind, you need to hold down the FF or RW buttons on the remote, it has a slight time delay for it to work.

EDIT: I also changed the Windowfocus in the settings.ini file located with the netflixcontrol files directory from SageTV to PVRX2.

Thanks for a great plugin Whurlston!

  Download a YouTube video. How???
Posted by: bgowland - 2009-03-23, 10:23 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (14)

Not GB-PVR related but as there was a YouTube plugin briefly in an older version, I thought I'd ask here...

What would I use to download a YouTube video?

I just went to look at a YouTube video that a friend of mine was involved with and it appears that WMG (Warner Music Group) are doing some sort of fascist legal thing with YouTube and the soundtrack has been cut.

The video itself was privately written, filmed, directed, edited and is a 14 minute comedy and the only thing I can think is that the last 30-45 seconds while the credits are running uses 'Joy To The World' aka 'Jeremiah was a Bullfrog' as a backing. For that, WMG forced YouTube to pull the plug on the entire 14min soundtrack???

If the sound has simply been disabled for playback then I'd like to download a copy to keep. Sheesh - it's not as if these guys made any money out of it - they even had to borrow the shovels to bury the body in the final scene. Big Grin

Cheers,
Brian

XMLTV - RT and symbols in text description
Posted by: gbq57 - 2009-03-23, 09:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Recently I had to upgrade my system to continue using xmltv (0.5.55) using the Radio Times data and GBPVR (1.3.11) - it was two years since my previous update - if it aint broke dont fix it.

Mostly it all works but for the first time I have noticed that gbpvr stops importing the listing information when it comes across a £ symbol in the description (it also stoped when trying to put in the degree's symbol a couple of weeks ago). If I take out the rogue symbols from the listing.xml file and update the EPG all is well.

Is anyone else having this problem? -is there a easy fix

Regards, Paul

  Iphone Video
Posted by: BigT - 2009-03-23, 03:50 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I know I should be able to do this but I just can't get it to work. I record shows with a Hauppauge 1600 card so the files are ts format. What I want to do is is remove the commercials and transcode to mp4 format to load onto my Iphone to watch without the commercials. Comskip works fine to mark the commercials but comclean won't remove them. I would like to automate as much as I can so that I can go to bed and have it ready in the morning.

Thanks,
Tom

Low Hard drive sleep timer causing playback issues
Posted by: fdm225 - 2009-03-23, 02:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi all,
I believe I have solved my own problem but wanted to share this information and ask a follow up question. I have a machine running windows XP (32-bit) with 4 gigs of memory and 2 hard drives.

So I finally got the setup working great and then decided to improve perfection by turning on power management. In the power options I had the hard drives set to go to sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity, assuming that playback of the large, HD video files would be enough to keep them running. Well I was wrong! It seems that due to the large amount of ram in the machine the video playback was being cached into main memory and not reading from the disks. So about 15 minutes into the show I would see playback freeze (while the hard disk would spin up) and then randomly jump forward in time. At this point the playback would be out of sync with respect to the timeline shown by the UI.

When this first started happening (being that I made several changes at once) I was unsure of the root cause, so I tried different codecs, different mux options, different skins, different everything! In the end I upped the sleep timeout on my hard drive to 60 minutes and the issue goes away!

So here is my question, is there a way to have a low timeout on the sleep timer and not have this issue happen? Being that the computer is running 24/7 (well when it is not sleeping ) I want to try to make it as power efficient as possible.

Thanks,
dave

Setting up Hauppauge PVR 150 blaster
Posted by: CornStopper - 2009-03-23, 10:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Hi All, hope someone can help.

I have the lastest version of GBPVR 1.3.11.

I have set up the card under config and set-up the channel sources, the same channel source being the same for all the channels from my STB.

e.g.

BBC 1 - 63
BBC 2 - 64
SKY 1 - 68
SKY 2 - 68
SKY SPORT 1 - 68

You get the picture. Then I have mapped the channel numbers for the channel sources e.g.

BBC 1 - 101
BBC 2 - 102
SKY 1 - 106
SKY 2 - 107
SKY SPORT 1 - 401

etc.

But when I change channel the blaster transmits to the STB the channel source. E.G. I type 106 using the remote and and 068 is transmitted to the STB using the blaster.

Is this correct ?

Or should should I have setup the STB channels as the source being AV input rather that RF Antenna, then set the channel sources appropriately. I would rather not do this. So is there a way to transmit the channel numnber rather than the channel source number.

  tv tuner setup issue
Posted by: Jordzan - 2009-03-23, 10:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Gday

I'm trying to get my Asus u3100 Mini USB hdtv capture card to work with gbpvr but it wont recognise the card.

Ive set it up under digital recording setting (if i click only cards found on this system it sais there is none) and imported the xml file. when try to map to the digital channels and scan for channels i get a "System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." message.
Full error is attached and is the filtercheck file.

I have added my own u3100 entry into the .bda file with the proper information from graphedit and wiki site with no luck.

Any help or ideas would be great if possible.
cheers

  djkxml stopped working
Posted by: jhardman - 2009-03-23, 09:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

First let me start by saying that I have been using djkxml for some time now and think it is awesome.

However it has stopped working. I'm hoping that somebody can help me out and get it working again or perhaps get a fix for it. My EPG runs out at the end of Friday so hopefully it can be fixed before then. Below is the log file showing the error that occurs which then causes a crash:

  stuttering
Posted by: amittzor - 2009-03-23, 06:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

just installed gbpvr on a fresh winxp sp3.

i have a problem. while watching live tv, after a few seconds, the audio and the video starts stuttering, and then the audio dissapears completely.

it happens only while watching live tv. it doesn't happen on delayed mode )after pressing pause) and recordings.

there is one more little problem - the audio and the video are a little bit out of sync. how can i fix it?
