Hi. I'm new to this forum & to setting up a pvr/media computer.
This new computer has 3 tuners in it; 1 Hauppauge WinTV1250 card and 2 Pinnacle PCTV HD PCI cards. I setup GB-PVR to scan channels on all 3 cards, doing the WinTV first. It successfully found all the available digital channels in the area. However, when I tried the scan on the Pinnacle cards, it only found channel 11, about 40 times! what gives? I setup the WinTV card and one of the Pinnacle cards as device 1, the other Pinnacle card as device 2 (per another thread that I found here). The program that comes with the Hauppauge card apparently only works with the WinTV card. The program that comes with the Pinnacle cards only appears to work with those cards. Can anybody tell me what I am missing?

I have a PVR250 and Nova-T -500 card in my setup. Both have IR sensors. When I just had the PVR250 the Hauppauge remote seemed to work. Now with both cards in there I can only get very limited functionality to work with the Nova-T 500 remote which is a 48(?) button remote. The sensor is plugged into the Nova-T card.

I have done the following. In config set in DVD the fact I am using the 45 button remote and re-ran the IR application. But all I can do with the remote are the up/down/left/right/OK buttons. Nothing else works - can't do esc and go back to a previous menu and can't stop/pause playback.

So it seems GB-PVR sees the remote but with severely reduced functionality. Anything else I should be looking at?

hey everyone, i'm setting up a new development machine, and need a virus scanner and firewall for it. I'm sick of paying for norton and its daily scans.

For a virus scanner I want somethign that will keep my machine secure, running quietly in the background and use as little system resources as possible.

for a firewall i want something that will ask me about each program that is accessing the internet and if i want to block it, and low resources, and secure of course.

virus scanner ill probably go with avast, but theres always the debate over avg and avast, just wondering what real peoples opinions were.

I need help selecting a tuner and video card. I plan to use this setup for OTA ATSC. I am lucky and get very good reception. I have a magnavox circa 1995 32" CRT TV with a coxal and rca connections, and I am happy with SD picture. HDTV is not necessary.

I have read here that the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1600 is a good card for gbpvr, would it work for me?

I am on a tight budget, I hope to spend 20$ or less for the video card, and around 50$ for a tuner with a remote. Yes, I know I'll be shopping ebay

Is it possible to pull the subtitles stream out of the TS when recording? I believe if gbpvr captures the whole stream they're there, but if it's doing the demux and only capturing the one program stream I don't think its grabbing the subtitle stream.

Just to say bye from me in GBPVR land. Due to unforseen circumstances (like machine refusing to boot up ) my use of GBPVR has come to an abrupt end and migration forced.

I am putting together a GBPVR client and although my dev PC can watch in client mode the new PC client cannot.
I suspect this is to do with the codecs whats actually on their and the order.
I was hoping some kind soul would give me a clue as to which codec pack(s) I should load and in which order to get the PC client working with both audio and video.

I am having problems again with the timeline on 90% of my DVB-T recordings. When playing back recordings the start and end time of the recording will wildly jump all over the place and increase rapidly. Eventually skipping through adverts becomes impossible as it either jumps too far and when pressing the skip back button it will skip ahead instead and sometime it will only skip a few frames ahead at a time.

When this release of GBPVR came out I had an issue very similar to this which Sub fixed with a patch. This has started to happen again just recently. I have not changed anything.

I did try changing sync audio reference clock to true to see if that would help, but it hasnt.

Is there any other software out there that is similar to TSReader? Just curious.

first of - thanks to sub and other plug-in developers for this most awesome HTPC software.

i live in northeast USA, cablevision is my Cable provider, and i need help in selecting a clearQAM (don't care about analog) card.

I recenlty purchased the hauppague PVR-1250 but it hangs my machine. Someone else with an ASUS MA378 motherboard said the same thing on another forum.

One possiblity is the ATI 650, since I read that someone was able to get this to work, but this is a bit expensive. My endstate is to use the Hauppauge HD-PVR 1212 after I get everything setup. And, I would not mind having two tuners (one through the internal PCI or USB, and the other would be the HD-PVR.

Any other QAM cards can you guys recommend. I'm trying to keep the price down around $50 US.
