Thanks in advance.

  Client still talking to server
Posted by: Jaggy - 2009-03-19, 09:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

A couple of days ago I configured my development machine to act as a client from my main pvr server for some skinning development I was doing & after I had finished I unselected client in config. Yesterday my development PC was acting oddly with small slow downs every few seconds & egg timers showing briefly every now & then also my server had a recording services crash for the first time in about a year which I thought was very odd at the time. Today when I fired up my development PC I noticed the tray icon was green & when I bought up the status window it showed the capture cards for the server which was doing a recording. I disconnected the network cable & restarted the recording service & checked the status but it just showed eight blank tuners & not the tuners I have configured for this machine. I like to be able to turn client on & off as the server is on top of a cupboard in the hallway & a bit of a pain to get at for small tweaks etc.

  New Build: XP or Vista
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2009-03-19, 08:14 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (11)

I'm getting ready for a new build and debating between XP and Vista. I can't use EVR as I need the remove letterbox aspect ratio for some of my analog channels, so deduct one for Vista. But, Sub is developing in Vista, so add one. I have no Vista machines at the moment, so a new OS to learn, -1. I capture from FW using Graphrecorder, so if the Directshow filters (like the MPEG demux) in Vista are improved, that would be +1.

And so it goes. What's the opinion of the community? I have only Vista Business available, if that makes a difference. No MCE, that's for sure. So, chime in.

P.S. It will be a 780G MB, so standby for questions on that!

hard drive light blinks on every two seconds
Posted by: laptoppvr - 2009-03-19, 06:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hello all- My setup is a laptop with a Pentium 4 3 Ghz with 1.5 GB Ram running v1.3.11 on XP Pro connected to a Hauppauge WinTV HVR 1950 on analog cable. My issue is that the hard drive led flashes on about every two seconds as long as the GBPVR Tray program is running. If I change the Logging Level in config from debug to error, the drive light still flashes a little bit slower at a little over 2 seconds intervals. If I right click in the tray to close it, the repeating flashing stops, but then I can no longer capture a signal. Is this supposed to be happening? Do I need to be concerned about hard drive wear? Since I'm running on a laptop, I can't add another internal drive. Otherwise everything runs so well, I'm considering making another donation!

  New user setup question
Posted by: trevh - 2009-03-19, 05:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I've installed GBPVR on VISTA with a Freecom DVB-T USB dongle.
I'm running AMD Turion X2 Dual Core Mobile RM-72, 4gb RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics.
I have some queries.

1. I only get 5 channels (Dave, E4+1, Sky Three, Sky Spts News, Sky News)

2. Each channel has a copy as (Audio #2). The EPG scan only shows programs against the Audio.

3. In the digital channel mapping window I can see the programs on all 5 channels against the channel, but against the Audio #2 I get no audio.

4. In the PVRX2 I get a message saying there is no signal. But there must be for the program to be shown in the digital channel mapping window.

I could see loads of channels in Total Media 3. But I've now uninstalled it as it's chargeable.

  HVR 1600 S-video input question
Posted by: topperdude - 2009-03-19, 04:39 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I understand that the HVR 1600's S-video input uses the same MPEG encoder as the analog tuner.

I would like to connect the set top box's S-video output to the S-video input on the HVR1600 (and control the box with the IR blaster on the MCE remote receiver).

In this scenario, where I have two analog sources and I digital, will I be able to record three shows (2 analog and 1 digital) at the same time or can the MPEG encoder be used by only one of the analog sources (either S-video or analog tuner but not both) at a time?

Just wanted to see if anyone might know the answer before I start down this path.

Thanks,
-Topper

QAM channel scan problem v1.3.11 ATI TV wonder 650 pro
Posted by: DaveL - 2009-03-19, 03:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I've been working on this for several days now. My setup is XP, gbpvr1.3.11, ATI TV wonder 650, and using COX basic cable.

The problem is that some public HD channels(QAM) are not picked up in gb-pvr. I know it sounds very much like a signal strength issue, however, I don't think it's the case, because:
1. Catalyst Media center on the same sestup can pick up those channels without problem.
2. The ATI tuner can pick up many more HD channels than my HDTV. (of course those are unknown ones, which is encrypted) This means the tuner card is more sensitive.
3. If I change tuner mode to ATSC, the missing channel actually show up in the preview list. (yes, I know I won't be able to watch them since tuner mode are wrong) But this at least shows the signal is there and the card can see them.

The odd thing is missing channels all having a higher channel id, e.g., I can get 4.1,4.2, 5.1, 20.1...., but can't get 26.1, 26.2, 50.1.

I tried to follow this thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ight=tweak
but no luck so far. There are just so many BDA related config to tweak and I'm not sure their function.

One more thing, I have .net 3.5. The wiki said .net 2.0. I'm not sure if I should downgrade. But want to make sure this is the issue here.

  Support for Hauppauge HD-PVR 1212
Posted by: bubba - 2009-03-19, 02:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (47)

Is the Hauppauge HD-PVR 1212 on of the supported platforms? I just bought one and I can't use the remote with the software it came with. They recommended I go buy something for $95, but free.99 is a much better price.

Thanks

  Item Already Been Added Error
Posted by: LewE - 2009-03-19, 01:35 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (16)

I have been getting the following error in my MVP-PVRX2.exe.log

2009-03-18 18:23:21.351 ERROR [6] Error initializing panel plugin: C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\plugins\TV Listings\TV Listings.dll

2009-03-18 18:23:24.945 WARNING [6] Received unknown request of type: 0

I know the error is about TV Listings but it appears in the MVP log file and not the PVRX2 log file so I'm thinking it may be related more to MVP than TV Listings. I also get the messages in the CONFIG log.

I've posted this question in the TV Listings thread also. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post328940 At this point I would take help from anywhere.

Any ideas on what this is and how to eliminate it?
