Is it possible to 'book' a show from the guide/etc so that gbpvr switches to that channel when it starts? If not, any chance it can be added?
I realize its possible to just record the show, but by default it doesn't seem to play the show while its recording - just drops back to the main menu.
I've been trying to look up some information on the documentation wiki. I can get to the Home page but if I try to get to any other page, I just get a "waiting for gbpvr.com" message at the bottom of my browser.
Is there a known problem with accessing the wiki pages?
I finally tried the latest version of your matagrabber after having many problems everything seems really good with this vertsion. Since we last talked a month ago you had made an update to metagrabber so I scannned a folder with 200 movies and I selected the "put data in file" option and scanned and discovered that most of the movies in the directory lost the jpgs and some of the tags were now wrong so I gave up for a few weeks. But I tried your latest version and I manually fixed all the movies and jpg's and changed the files to "read only" so I won't have to worry about mucking with them anymore since they are all now correct in that dir.
now brings me to my latest dilemma. I used to use the slick skin for the metadata reader but there is no delete file button and since I auto convert my files to a ffdshow codec I usally end up with doubles one mpg and one avi if I happened to watch part of a show while it is encoding it won't auto delete these afterwords since they were locked. So I went back to the blue skin which has the delete button in video library so I can find and remove these unwanted files. Now I also have my movies in moviewiz but many of the tags are wrong or incomplete since I never fixed any using moviewiz and I am trying to figure out how I can get moviewiz to use the saved metawizgrabber info we created using your new tool and use that in moviewiz instead of what I already have there? I def don't want moviewiz to make an internet search since I had to fix so many from before so I would love moviewiz to use the info we already grabbed from the grabber and the ones I have corrected.
I can delete the moviewiz database and start from scratch so that is no problem. I would like to try to import one of my directories.
I tried to disable the live preview and decided to enable it again and now it appears as though when watching Live TV the keyboard is not being recognized. I can use the keyboard to select from the menu, but once in Live TV I cannot set to record using the keyboard and I have to exit out of live TV with the right mouse click.
My computer is running Vista Home Premium x64 SP1 with an i7 CPU and 8GB of RAM. It has a Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1250 (Model 79xxx, Hybrid ATSC/QAM) tuner card. The tuner works fine with Windows Media Center and WinTV. I know that analog reception is not supported by GB-PVR with this tuner card, so I'm only trying to use it for ATSC over an antenna.
I can successfully receive HD television broadcast using WinTV, and I'm now trying to configure GB-PVR. However, I'm running into various types of problems.
The first and most visible problem to me is that after I configure everything (EPG, channel mapping, etc), I open PVRX2 and hit "Live TV". There is barely a blink and nothing else happens; the cursor goes back to "Live TV". The logs indicate that no channel mapping has been done (but I know I dit it, or tried to do it). The logs also include errors about not findings skin images (.png).
Before configuring the capture source, I found a post that included settings to use in BDA.ini and I'm using them:

After multiple tries to see Live TV without success, I noticed that I cannot even change the default skin. The PVRX2 background is always Blue. Any attempt to change it will not work. From PVRX2, it will crash the program.
Just as a test, I also tried to add a new location for Video files; after adding it in the configuration program, it does not show up in PVRX2.
In the Digital Channel Mapping window, there is a black square in the top right where I expect to see a miniature TV image. Even if it successfully found many digital channels during scans, there is never an image in that area.
During my various tests, I was able to see jpeg images and stored videos using PVRX2.
Finally, I have done previous attempts and it did not work. To start a fresh installation, I uninstalled/reinstalled everything (two times) and, to my surprise, it looks like some settings that I have previously made are already reselected. What can I do to remove all traces of a previous uninstall? Are there some preferences saved in the registry?
I am very experienced with computers, new to Vista, new to TV tuners in computers. The wide range of issues that I experience make me believe that Vista restrictions are causing some of it. Sometimes, it looks like the selections I make in the configuration program are not seen by PVRX2.
I deleted all old logs, then ran the configuration utility, scanned for channels, and performed all configuration. I closed it and ran PVRX2 without success. Logs for this sequence of events are attached.
(Note: if it makes a difference, the first installation was NOT using the default path. Since then, I uninstalled everything, deleted some leftover folders, rebooted and reinstalled everything using default paths and default options. I also remember that at one occasion, the tray icon was not responding and I was not able to kill its thread, and maybe this had some side effects in Vista? I have administrator rights on the computer)
I'd like to be able to add a custom genre/name/flag to my recordings at the time of scheduling them to record (or later) so that i can later go to a list of recordings with that flag/name associated with them and choose one to play,
EG:
rather than having to sift through movies, kids programs etc when wanting to watch a news recording i can just go to a list of news recordings and pick from there.
the sound on the client is left right backwords. i have checked the pan on the client via the audio control pannel. left is left and right is right. but any thing encoded and streamed to the client is wrong. any thoughts? i have a hvr-1600
is there a way for me to have access to the config on the server with out going to the server. so if the server is hooked up to my tv via the svid i could log in from the client and adjust the server configuration.
I have upgraded my Windows XP Pro HTPC with a Gigabyte motherboard that has AMD780G chipset. I also bought a Philips 47" 9603H LCD TV with HDMI connection. I also have a 29" VGA monitor next to the LCD TV.
I want to both surf and watch "WebTV" and watch TV recordings on the 47" screen without tearing.
If I clone the desktop screen and use VMR9 custom renderer I get terrrible tearing on the 47" screen.
If I expand the desktop and start GBPVR in VMR9 Custom on second monitor (47" screen) I get tearing in video.
If I expand the desktop and start GBPVR in VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive on second monitor (47" screen) I get NO tearing in video, but then I cant watch WebTV.
Has anyone used an external graphics card (ATI 3450 or 4450) on a 780G motherboard and used VMR9 Custom or EVR with a dual monitor/graphic card setup with cloned desktop and gotten rid of the tearing?
I've just finished a clean install of GBPVR (along with fresh drivers etc.) after a catastrophic failure involving Windows Update (don't ask).
I am now missing a mux (Mux D broadcasting from Rowridge UK). Prior to my woes Mux D was picked up fine. In fact running ScanBDA it reckons I'm getting a strength = 4000 and quality = 100% so why would GBPVR miss it?
