  DXVA Hardware Acceleration Help needed
Posted by: ryboto - 2009-03-20, 11:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I've just recently added an HD 4650 to my HTPC. I'm having a lot of trouble with GBPVR just grabbing channels, but I thought I'd also try to get help with DXVA. Now, I've got very few codecs installed. I installed the Core AVC codec, with the Haali media splitter. I can play .mkv's with MPC-HC and DXVA works(i've followed tutorials online). In GBPVR, I've enabled EVR, and when i try to play an HD video, I get 70-100% CPU usage(2.1ghz AMD X2).

With MPC-HC, CPU usage is ~15% for the same video. If I don't have the haali media splitter installed, the video just doesn't play in GBPVR, when i double click the video inside GBPVR, it flashed to a black screen, then back to the video selection menu.

Also, no audio is playing in GBPVR, suggesting I probably need audio codecs?

Here's my setup,
Vista32
2gb ram
AMD X2 2.1ghz
CoreAVC w/Haali splitter
HD4650
Hauppagge 1800

Does DXVA work for others?

Resolve a conflict by splitting up a show?
Posted by: gapgapman - 2009-03-20, 08:17 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

I have run into this situation several times. You have a one hour show that you record every week, "Fringe" for example. Along comes another show like "American Idol" (for my wife, of course) and she would like me to record it as much of it as possible. So if the first hour or the second hour of Amer Idol overlaps with Fringe, I get a conflict message. All is good so far. The options it gives me on the conflict resolution are to cancel Fringe or cancel American Idol. Is there any way to have an conflict resolution option to record just the hour of American Idol that doesn't overlap with Fringe? i know I can set it up to record manually, but wondered if this was a reasonable wishlist item?

Thanks,
gapgapman

Channel IR Commands Won't Show in Guide (Using IR Server)
Posted by: qaxooti - 2009-03-20, 08:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

When I go to change channels using the GBPVR TV guide, I can only change channels if I go to the actual channel on the guide and click "OK".

If I want to skip to channel 400 on the guide, the channel numbers won't show on the guide and I have to scroll all the way down.

I am using IR Server to change channels using it's blaster. My other keys seems to work ok (record, stop, up, down, left, right, etc.), but the numbers won't show on the GBPVR guide.

Essentially, numbers from my MCE remote aren't recognized in GBPVR.

Anyone have any suggestions? I am using IR Server. I used the settings file that was on the wiki page. It is working fine except for this issue.

Any suggestions?

Hi-Def from STB? What's the best way?
Posted by: mkenyon2 - 2009-03-20, 05:23 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (12)

Let's say I'm gonna go with the cable companies STB... I can get one with HDMI or some other Hi-Def output.

How does my PC take that in? Do I have to downgrade it to composite? How does sound come in?

I assume there are some HDMI and/or 5.1/digital audio inputs out there for the PC.

If you do this, what do you do/use?

  Inverse Telecine??

Is there any way to add an IVTC command to the "Auto Transcode" scripts? I have tweaked the Xvid code to my liking and would like to reduce the file size even more by removing the duplicate frames.

Thanks

Record using 'Search Guide' not working - V2
Posted by: plum - 2009-03-20, 02:56 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Unfortunately, changing the database did not help me. When changing the database, I lost all my record settings but that's not an issue. Can you take a look at the log file to see why the option to 'record all season' does not show.
I went to the TV Guide, double click on a show and only 'Record Once' option shows for the Recording Type (see screenshot).
Same issue in the search guide menu.

Thanks,
Patrick..

Recording stopped before end of show
Posted by: teookie - 2009-03-20, 02:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Sub, would you mind taking a look at these logs? Im running 1.3.11 and it's been working great for several months.

Tonight at about 8:30 I sat down to watch "The Office" (airs from 8:00 - 8:30), only to find out that the recording stopped after about 20 min, even though it's a 30 min show. Pre and post padding are set at 2 min.

I attached all the logs that were created today, march 19, so hopefully there is something in there that shows the error.

Would really appreciate it if you took a look.

Thanks!

Hi, i recently installed gbpvr. I have not installed any other plugins for this software. My computer had no problems going to sleep in the past, now i come home and its always awake. I do not have any scheduled or reoccurring programs scheduled at all. I saw somewhere that you can enable the debug log? How do i do that? why would GBPVR keep my computer awake.

GBPVR Locks Up In Video Library Mode
Posted by: Ranger One - 2009-03-19, 11:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I'm running the latest version of GBPVR. I have a problem with when I use the Video Library. I have a lot of Concert Dvd's ripped which is what most of Video Library is made up of. The problem I have is that when I stop playing a video & "exit" I return to the main screen with "Video Library" showing & the GBPVR screen freezes up. If I'm running "full screen exclusive" (my usual preference for Hi def) or VMR9 custom (not in windowed mode) & this happens there is no way to get my desktop back without rebooting the computer.

Attached are some logs & below is my configuration info:

Video Renderer: "VMR9 Full Screen Exclusive"
Video Decoder: NVidia Decoder
Audio Decoder: FFDShow Audio Decoder
AC3 Decoder: FFDShow Audio decoder
Audio Renderer: RealtekHD Audio Output

I did download MMCompview if you need any of that info.

Any solutions would be appreciated!
