I'm using hipsend with .exe channel changer on a dish 322. Live tv preview mode changes channels perfectly but whenever I pause tv or uncheck "use live preview mode if available" gbpvr refuses to send IR blaster codes. My IR blaster is the one from Microsoft MCE remote 2005 version 2. Anyone have any ideas why timeshifting would mess things up? Thanks

24 didn't record for the second week in a row due to a zero size recording (via HDHomerun)

I thought last week it was due to my experimentation w/ multirecording, so I turned that off, but looks like I'm still getting them.

24 started at 9PM my time.

I normally used VMC for my recording, but decided to give gbpvr another try. I tried it sometime ago and had issues setting everything up. I have a hvr-1600 tuner card. I am using an OTA source for HD tv. This antenna allows be to receive every local channel except WBBM in chicago.

Right now, i was able to get the channels setup, scanned digital channels and the guide is functioning. The problem I am having is with the audio, it horrible. It just chops in and out like crazy. I have a quad core Q9450 xps 420 pc with a nvidia 8800 gt video card. The video appears to be working just fine, it just a problem with the audio. It looks as if ffdshow audio is currently the decoder.

I'm having a bit of trouble with GBPVR 1.3.11. I'm running a Nova-T 500 dual tuner on XP SP3 32bit.

Certain channels such as E4 show in the config program as available via both tuners (rescanned a couple of times), but when I try to play it or record it, all I get is audio but no video. Wierdly, E4+1 works fine...

I've tried 3 different decoders (ffdshow, nvidia and intervideo), but this doesn't seem to make a difference.

Have attached the logs, for irony's sake the program playing at the time was a film called Picture Perfect

Edit: Just to add, the channel plays fine through WinTV

The TV Guide will let you Play a recording that's currently in progress. How about letting you play a recording that just completed?

for a real-life example, yesterday I was in the TV Guide and noticed House was recording; I made mental note to watch it a soon as I was done watching another program live... by the time I was ready to watch it though, the recording was finished so I couldn't play it from the TV Guide any more.

It struck me that it would be very cool, convenient and intuitive if the TV Guide knew which shows during the past few hours were recorded, and would allow you to play them from there (just the same as it will let you play an in-progress recording). Pick a new color to mark completed shows, perhaps green? (I thought blue at first, but I know that's already used to mark future 'shows of interest'.. EWA uses green, so that'd be consistent)

Recently, not sure exactly when, I have started getting some problems with some recordings. They say they have recorded ok, but won't playback for some reson. I click play and they just sit there without playing.

Ilooked in the logs for some clues, but none of it really means anything to me.

any ideas?

I've decided to take the jump and upgrade my HTPC so it handles the latest GB-PVR interface and can play live TV, recordings and DVD at top quality. It makes sense to make it HD ready while I'm at it. After reading through these forums and on (what seems like) every hardware/HTPC site on the WWW I've pretty much settled on the following components:

I have been reading the forums and other sources for the last few days after a series of events lead me to the inspirational idea of creating a mediacentre for home. It all started when the company I work for had a customer wanting to stream audio and dvd feeds into operating theatres. They have since put this on hold, however as the following days unfolded a series of events took place that leads me to believe that the Almighty upstairs is sending me on a mission, not unlike Moses...
Day 1: The boss comes in and says "I have a spare HP Proliant ML370 with 4Gb of Ram, +/- 300gb of Raid 5 Scsi drives, hot swap PSU’s and fans… anyone want it?" My hand was up faster than a $2 hooker heading to the naval base....
Day 2 (actually day 4, but day 2 sounds better): Same boss comes in and says "I've just signed up to be a Ruckus wireless reseller, anyone wanna play with the Mediaflex gear?" ...duh?
Evening of Day 2: Mrs g starts bleeting on about the cr*p tv reception in the bedroom and can't understand why we have MySky in the lounge and I have it relayed into the Bar, but can't do it to the bedroom.....

And from here the blessed Google transports me to gb-pvr...

The following day the boss asks what i'm going to do with the server etc. so I show him the site and mention the motivation (satisfying the wife) which leads to questions about Tuner cards (and jokes about me needing to satisfy the mrs with electrical equipment) and what i intend to use. I say "I dunno, haven't done any substantial research, but the Hauppage HVR4000 might be ok...." "Well go get one then." was the reply, Who am I to argue?

So off I go, purchase order in hand and have one on order. Hindsight tells me now that perhaps I should have checked whether:
a) The server can take it (shouldn't be a drama)
b) If it was, in fact the right card to get????

c) I'm also wondering what the best (most suitable) graphics card may be, from memory the server has PCI-X 64bit/100Mhz slots and PCI-Express x4 slots...

d) The server currently has Win Server 2007 x64 on it, MORE than happy to blow this away and put SBS on it (we have a spare license), or should I make it the XP beast from the spawn of Satan? (i'm not even sure i've read anywhere that the software will run on Windows Server?)

e) I notice that on a lot of sigs, many of you are using AMD, is there a specific reason for this or just random coincidence?

Apologies for the long post, but these are things are bugging me, and i'm sure you can appreciate my excitement ...tee hee... And yes I love my job....

I'm also up for sharing the love, so if the server is not going to be any good, I can build a new machine and maybe we could find a use for the server to benefit everyone (other than donating it off site, the boss may get grumpy at that) but maybe we could host something???

As you can tell i'm an absolute novice in this area, but thrive in others...

Finally I did upgrade to 1.3.11
Stopped the recording service first and then run the upgrade msi.
Then when everything was done the config application tried to start but it crashed. Also PVRX2.exe crashed on running
I rebooted and PVRX2.exe run without a problem, till I tried to show the program guide, nothing, only the red cross on white background.
In the log file there was an error message that the ChannelLogos folder could not be opened.
That folder used to be there as I was seeing channel logos.
So I created the folder, left it empty, and now everything works again.
Strange

The reason I did the upgrade was to get pvrx2 not to jump to the top of the recording list when you delete all recordings in a sublist, but I do not get that behavior, it still jumps to the top of the list. Will have to search a little further why.
