Remote sends same key for Play and Pause
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2009-03-10, 06:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I purchased a new xp/vista compatible remote and I am trying to make it work with GBPVR. The problem I am having is that the remote sends the same key for Play and Pause buttons(Media_Play_Pause). In GB-PVR, these are different (^p and ^q). I am wondering if there is a way to change them to be the same key throughout the gbpvr interface?

I set the remote in config to mce remote, I could not find a keyboard option.

Daylight savings - EPG off by an hour now
Posted by: pduncan67 - 2009-03-10, 06:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I forgot to check the box "adjust for daylight savings" on my PC. Last weekend (I'm in the USA) when we adjusted our clocks forward an hour. Now all my recordings are off by an hour. (so is my EPG). (I use schedules direct).

After researching a bit here in the forms, I tried the following:
-In the config app, on capture tab I ensured that the "replace all" box was checked. (didn't help - schedule is still off by an hour)
- I selected the dump EPG option - that didn't help either. Note - a message indicated that my pending recordings would be deleted - but they were not.

Any suggestions wold be greatly appreciated.

  HDMI capture from this?
Posted by: dIggl3r - 2009-03-10, 05:26 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (9)

Could I really just plug the hdmi cable from pvr into this, and directly capture into pc? Is there any other devices that permits "on-the-fly" hdmi capture, for pc?

  Benny Hill mode?
Posted by: jmontana - 2009-03-10, 05:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

This has happened a couple of times now. We'll be watching a show that's currently being recorded. When we get near to being caught up, and I try to skip ahead, everything suddenly jumps into fast motion and stops responding to input.

The audio is unaffected, but the video plays very quickly, not unlike a Benny Hill sketch.

It will do this for 30 seconds or so, and then resume normal play.

I also saw it do this when I had paused it briefly and then tried to resume.

It always happens when I get near to real-time.

I'm using a PVR-150 with one of the more recent versions of GBPVR. 1.13, at least. (Sorry I'm not at the PC so can't verify the exact version number.)

OTA ATSC to SDTV via 1600
Posted by: noremac74 - 2009-03-10, 04:04 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hello all,
just getting started in into this gbpvr scene.
Let me know if this setup will work.

Terk HDTVa antennae (OTA ATSC) to Hauppage 1600 to ATI 3450 to SDTV.

PC Specs:
Dell Dimmension P4 2.8, 2GB RAM, 80GB OS HD, 250GB MEDIA HD, ASUS 3450 PCIE, SBLive PCI

Will I need to downconvert the signal or can the 1600 do it, or is this a non-issue?

Also, the IR Blaster with the 1600. Is it only useful for controlling a STB with the Terk HDTVa connected, or can it change channels on the SDTV?

I want to drop my dish network subscription and just use ota atsc with netflix.

Thanks in advance for your help and the help of others in this forum.

  UBUStream and version 1.3.11
Posted by: seansco - 2009-03-10, 02:51 PM - Forum: UbuStream, Web Radio and Universe - Replies (10)

Any word on how to get UBUStream 2.2 to work with GBPVR 1.3.11? I have tried installing Commuity3 skin, that does not help.

When I select WebStreams from the main menu the screen just blinks and stays at the menu.

Possible bug: conflict of manual recordings
Posted by: JBreits - 2009-03-10, 02:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

On Friday 3/6, I set up a couple manual recordings. I went with manual because I was going to be out of town and I was not sure how the system would react to the DST change. I basically wanted to setup to record ch 7.1 and ch 9.1 from 6PM to 11PM on Sunday 3/9. I have a dual tuner HVR 2250 so this is normally not a problem. While doing these manual records, I realized that I had accidentally set the 7.1 recording to 6AM-11AM. I selected the recording and used the Update option to set to 18:00-23:00.

When I got back on Sunday evening (around 9:45) I noticed that my recording for ch 9.1 was running (as expected) but the recording for ch 7.1 was not running. I tried to watch the recording and got just a blank screen. I went and looked at the TS file and it was only 600KB large.

I'm by no means an expert at looking at my log files as I've only been using the software about a month, but it looks to me like both programs were set to record using tuner 2. Since I had originally entered the wrong time for 7.1, this would have been acceptable, but it appears that it was not updated once I updated the times on 7.1. Therefore, at 6PM, ch 7.1 started recording on tuner 2 and almost immediately afterward, the ch 9.1 recording took over tuner 2. All the while, tuner 1 was inactive.

Anyway, that's what I got from the logs but I could be wrong. They are attached. If I read them correctly, there could be a bug here.

Thanks,
JBreits

  Corrupt Recordings
Posted by: philly_phenom - 2009-03-10, 01:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Two recordings from my HDHomerun were corrupt last night (first time I've had problems with this device)

24 recorded at 9PM & was ~6MB. Castle recorded at 10:02PM & was 0

Logs are attached.

Thanks

UPDATE: Noticed this in the logs just before each recording: "Unexpected error checking tuning on back-to-back multirecords"

I forgot to uncheck that when I was playing with multirecord before & since I had gone back to my pre-multirecord setup, I had didn't have the patches in place - was that the problem?

1.3.11 turns out it cannot record anything - had to back off to 1.2.xx
Posted by: JohnInSJ - 2009-03-10, 01:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Well, I thought everything was working, but of course it wasn't. Not sure what to do about it, since I have no time to troubleshoot, but just in case its helpful.

Current 1.2.x version has at least once successfully scanned/mapped digital channels along with analogs, and has so has two sources - these are numbered 1 and 2.

I copied that directory (you know, keep a backup) and installed 1.3.11 over it, which it detected as an upgrade and successfully installed.

Installed all the patches per the sticky.

Tried to scan/map digital channels, failed, but it still had the old channels in the map list from the 1.2x scan, so used those to map some digital channels.

Every recording fails (analog and digital). I posted this before - it appears as though the recording service crashes when it tries to do any recording. Possibly the source numbers are off now?

Machine is a core2 duo, 2gb ram, .5TB disk, running XP, Hauppaugh HVR 1600, digital side is QAM cable, wintv gets a boatload of clear QAMs, and 1.2.x records clear QAMs just fine.

I restored the old version, it's working fine (recorded several analog and digital shows last night) but for some reason it to now cannot scan for digital channels. I guess I need to re-install it to have it register something back?

Anyway, I really want 1.3.11 to work, but I've got no time to troubleshoot Sad

  Inoperable after MDAPIfilter
Posted by: cgsample - 2009-03-10, 01:26 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I'm trying to install a Twinhan 102g using latest version of GBPVR. When I get to the step of registering mdapifilter.ax, GBPVR nor the Config will open after the registration. Even if I unregister MDAPIfilter.ax it's still hosed?

DVB Dream and MyTheatre working fine.
