Missing "Save" button on Update channels
Posted by: f0945a5662 - 2022-06-18, 02:18 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (26)

For Settings>Devices>(selected device)>Update channels

There had long been a popup box on the screen for users to "Save" but about a month ago, the "Save" button disappeared. Problem exists in Chrome, Firefox and Edge browers running the latest version of NextPVR locally on Windows 8.1. Why did it go away and how can I get it back. See attached screen shot.

Any solutions?

Recordings sometimes cutoff and EPG not updating
Posted by: stonedemoman - 2022-06-17, 11:29 PM - Forum: Docker amd64 - Replies (3)

Howdy, first off I must confess both programming and Linux are not in my wheelhouse of familiarity and I am just now starting to learn. Please ELI5 if you can figure out the issue/what I did wrong.

I started off installing the official nextpvr docker image on my synology NAS. Watching LiveTV over my IPTV provider worked great on my Nvidia shield TV Kodi client, but I noticed some recordings would get cut off at some point during the process and this error would repeat in the log:

Quote:[36] HTTP input source starting

[36] Unexpected error in HTTP input source: System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.

  at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()

  at NShared.Shim.InputSourceHTTP.WorkerThread()
Since then I've switched to marklambert's custom image with comskip and I'm happy with the results of my IPTV service except for two issues:
  • Some recordings (once or twice a day maybe) are getting cut off and returning the same error I described earlier.
  • EPG is not automatically updating, but works fine manually updating from a web url XMLTV source. (I noticed this yesterday when the guide data stopped)

Small side note: I'm curious what the <EPGUpdateHour> option is for in config, as adjusting the automatic epg update time only changed the <EPGUpdateTime> option below it.

Streaming Failed (transcoder exited) - help
Posted by: Paul92 - 2022-06-17, 11:22 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (4)

Hi all - sitting with a very annoying issue.

I am running NextPVR on a VPS in New Zealand. It's not the most powerful VPS in the word, but it does the job. The specs are 512mb RAM, 10GB storage and running Ubuntu 20.04. This "decrypts" the New Zealand FTA IPTV streams which are geoblocked. I then stream to my laptop in South Africa. I have only just set up NextPVR, and I have a strange issue.

The channels work fine for a while, I can change channels fine there is zero buffering. However eventually when selecting a channel I get this message. Streaming Failed (transcoder exited). The only way to be able to resume viewing is to restart the VPS which is highly inconvenient.

I have attached a small snippet of the log  - please see if this identifies the issue. I do see a 404 file not found message although not sure how it's all connected.

Let me know if I need to submit anything else.

Thanks

Episode Length is truncated for recordings
Posted by: ChrisHammond56 - 2022-06-15, 09:22 PM - Forum: Docker amd64 - Replies (1)

I have notice on some recordings that the episode is cut short by an random number of minutes (sometimes 10 mins other times 30-40 minutes on a 2HR show). I am not sure if this is restricted to scheduled or manual recordings.

Here is a snippet of the log

2022-06-15 13:30:00.155 [DEBUG][9] About to start recording (4032 on 22): /recordings/tv/The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes/Season 07/The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes.S07E03.The Golden Pince-Nez.ts...
2022-06-15 13:30:00.202 [DEBUG][9] Started recording (4032:72:/recordings/tv/The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes/Season 07/The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes.S07E03.The Golden Pince-Nez.ts)
2022-06-15 14:42:00.011 [DEBUG][9] Stopping recording (4032 on 22). Past end time of recording. 72
2022-06-15 14:42:00.847 [DEBUG][9] StopStream handle: 72
2022-06-15 14:42:00.856 [DEBUG][9] Closing TSWriter....: /recordings/tv/The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes/Season 07/The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes.S07E03.The Golden Pince-Nez.ts
2022-06-15 14:42:00.857 [ERROR][9] writer.Close() did not complete in a timely fashion

As you can see, the recording started at 13:30 and ended at 14:42 (70 mins show + 2 mins overrun)

However, for a 60mins+ show, I usually get a file size of 4GB+, in this case it was 1.4GB (and other failed shows have a varying length)

I have incorporated a rudimentary file size checker in my PostProcessing.sh and this was the log...

[15/06/2022 14:42] PID[12089] : File Size Actual: 1470798422, Expected: 6750000000
[15/06/2022 14:42] PID[12089] : **Warning: File Size Mismatch (1470798422:6750000000). Conversion Aborted!

Any ideas on why the recording thinks is finished on time, but the file size is too small (in this case it was 14mins into the show when stopped), and I see no events in the NPVR log to indicate an error was detected.

I have attached the logs

Thanks again for your continued support

  NScriptHelper.dll -service:setting.m3u.update
Posted by: TheKenR - 2022-06-14, 10:07 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (20)

Hello,

I am in need of a method of refreshing the URLs provided in my IPTV M3U file daily. My provider updates the URLs with new access tokens daily.

I've read an old post regarding "NScriptHelper.dll -serviceConfusedetting.m3u.update". This sounds like it's what I need but is it still supported? When I execute it on my Ubuntu 20.04 server I get a 404 error. The post I read was old, maybe the syntax or parameters have changed?

Is there some other method I could call from a script to update the URLs on my channel list in NPVR?

I'm running NVPR 5.2.7.220410 on this Ubuntu server.

ken@ubuntu:/var/opt/nextpvr/scripts$ /opt/dotnet/dotnet /opt/nextpvr/system/NScriptHelper.dll -serviceConfusedetting.m3u.update

pluto tv recordings just space travel thing and not completing
Posted by: nogoer - 2022-06-14, 02:43 PM - Forum: Extras - Replies (38)

im trying to future record channel 720 on pluto, as in ahead of the stupid 4-6 hour guide nonsense and i cant figure out  why i keep getting only the pluto tv busy type screen. I can watch the streams fine and schedule recordings fine but everything isnt actually recording or it seems to record and play the first few minutes and then goes to the busy screen and then playing just repeats the first recorded part and trying to jump to later in the recording just fails. Ive attached the logs but when i look an nrecord log it looks like it finds the recording but then isnt getting the right show listing.

Just for background im a rodeo and pbr fan and literally now the only place i can watch anything is on the pbr channel on pluto. Pbr though is absurdly rediculous with when and if they put recent live events up ondemand and since 99% of the rodeo world is in the midwest and i live on the east coast it means almost all of these events are 3 or more hours behind me and since most dont start until 8-10pm CST that means id have to stay up until mid night or later just to see these events. Then i found my favorite pvr app could actually record pluto and though my problems were solved, but at this point im thinking pluto tv is the issue with this one channel not working properly.

Getting Started - DVBS Channel Scan and Setup
Posted by: martini - 2022-06-12, 05:26 PM - Forum: Docker amd64 - Replies (19)

Hi,

I'm new to running NextPVR on Docker and looking for a bit of guidance on how best to manage Channel setup for Freesat in the UK. My system configuration is: Intel Server running Ubuntu 22.04 with a TBSTV DVBS2 tuner card. I'm running NextPVR with the Docker install as I understand that Ubuntu Server 22.04 doesn't support Dotnet3.1 which is required for a direct NextPVR install.

I've got the basic install/configuration working fine and successfully performed a Channel Scan of Astra-28.2E and saved all the 'unencrypted' free-to-air channels. My problem is that some but not all Freesat channels will play. For example BBC One HD, Sky News and other channels will play ok but others such as Channel 4 will not play. I'm wondering if the problem is that the Docker image doesn't include the latest correct channel tuning definitions for Astra-28.2E? I've checked on King-of-Sat so I can see what parameters are required for Channel 4.

My question is.. Can I edit the 'adapter-*-channels.conf' file in /Config to include the tuning parameters or does setting the tuning parameters require a change of content within the Docker container files?

I'm fairly certain my problem is not related to a transcoder problem as a variety of both HD/SD channels will play fine. I'm fairly certain that the problem relates to the tuner scan not picking up all the available channels.

With thanks in anticipation of your suggestions and guidance.

  Schedule advanced recording
Posted by: VCR58 - 2022-06-11, 10:59 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (2)

Today I wanted to create and recurring schedule on a channel using title and description. The title of the recording is "MLB Baseball" and the description keyword was to be "Cubs". However, the keyword "Cubs" was not in the description but was in the subtitle. The goal is to only record MLB Baseball games where the Cubs were playing.

Code:
<Event>   <OID>4617889</OID>   <Title>MLB Baseball</Title><SubTitle>Chicago Cubs at New York Yankees</SubTitle>   <Description>From Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y.</Description>   <ChannelOID>7466</ChannelOID>

So, I was wondering if it would be possible to include the SubTile when creating an advanced recording rule?

Thanks
