I am having an issue where I am getting no sound out recordings (that GBPVR recorded) played via GBPVR but when I watch them on XBMC they play fine. What is even stranger is that when I watch live tv inside of GBPVR I hear perfect audio.
I am really confused as to why live tv has audio but recorded tv does not, any ideas?

I am trying to use a Blackgold 3500 card, this card has on-board hardware MPEG encoding for all of its inputs.
With the help of the 'Wiki' I have been able to sort out the Dual DVB-T tuners and they work well within GBPVR.
However, I need to record from my (Virgin) STB which only has either RF, composite PAL, or YUV component outputs. I have already been told that the 'YUV' option is a non starter, the Blackgold card does not have composite input, so I am keen to get the Analog RF bit working.
I have deleted the DVB-T settings for one of the capture sources, and tried to set it up for fixed channel external tuner, but cant get it working.
In the config', capture source settings it comes up as a 'Compro Videomate E900F', but this seems to be because both the Compro and the Blackgold have filters with '7164' in them. Using the 'Compro' setting the card does not work, (of course)
I found the information in the Wiki informative regarding setting up the unsupported DVB-T aspect of the card, but can not find very much about seeting up the Analog RF tuner.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello All: Has anyone resolved the issue of GBPVR working with the AverMedia M791 tuner. Tried a couple of things to no avail.

When I am at the main menu and press "Live TV" nothing happens! I mean nothing at all...!
I got a PVR150 MCE.. and I think I've set the config completely correct. I use an external decoder connected with a RCA (composite) cable to the TVcard...
I can watch TV in Hauppage WinTV... But then there is a slight delay, thats why I'm trying to get this thing working. I got a tip from a buddy that GBPVR could deal the thing without delay. Example if you want to play video game on PC display.
So, things are working shockingly well with the lastest GBPVR + HD-PVR1600 Hauppaugh + Comcast and its expanded number of clear QAM channels.
Problem: Comcast likes to move those channels around
Solution: (Warn me if I am looking for trouble!) I find manually editing the tuning requests to use the correct channel under 'Map digital channelsl' works fine...
ie, use T:80,80,2~P:2~etc....
works fine - it tunes to 80-2, and whatever clear QAM is there comes in.
I am not sure what the P:2 means :p
Question 1: where is this mapping table stored, and can we edit it directly?
Question 2: for QAM tuning how much/what do I have to "get right" in the Tuning request? It would be totally perfect if all I needed was the T:CH,CH,subch - and tell me what the P:Y means? is that important? Is that the audio? What?
So yeah... in short is there a way to export/import that list into some editable form, and is the format of the Tuning Request knowable so I can put them in myself?

After months of experimenting with live viewing and playback of recordings of the BBC HD channel, I have finally managed to achieve stutter free viewing using GPPVR.
I have a Radion HD 3450 video card which may the cause of most of my problems but in the end the solution was simple .
1. Install ffdshow and
2. Set Video Renderer to VMR9 exclusive .
If I set rendering to any of the other settings the picture stutters and machine uses 100% of resources. Power DVD used about 10% of processing power but the picture forms tiles.
XBMC works quite well but some tiling in the lower 10th of the screen.
Having moving to the newest version of GBPVR (the one with multi tx mux magic where you can record multiple streams if they are in the same TS) *and* comcast unexpectedly moving many of the basic tier digitals to clear QAM, I am now able to record many shows that otherwise would have been in conflict.
However I still use and love and refuse to give up XRecord/CDKScheduler.
I am wondering now if CDKScheduler "knows" about the multi-record capability... in other words does it handle correctly this new ability to record 2 or more shows at once?
I've updated to the latest XRecord drop off the wiki as well - and I cannot tell looking at the recording.log file if its doing the right thing or not!
Hi guys, I installed GB-PVR yesterday after finding MediaPortal extremely buggy.
I've liked everything so far except that GB-PVR seems to not be able to play the 1080p videos I have smoothly. It's not bad enough to be called jittering, but it would at random times the video would pause for a millionth of a second during playback. This problem has not occurred for the 720p and 480p video clips I have tried on GB-PVR.
All the files I tried works perfectly on Media Player Classic. I have downloaded Storm Codec and K-Lite Codec pack on my machine. I have tried switching the default video renderer to ffdshow but the problem is still there.
Please let me know of your past experiences in solving this problem! Thanks.
Well it seems that I've found out the hard way about the crappy HDMI support on the 780g chipset. We splashed out over the weekend on a lovely 37" Toshiba XV, a cracking set that's really impressing me. The problem is the HTPC refuses to drive the display at 1080p.
When I plug my MacBook Pro in using the DVI/HDMI cable the panel it brings the panel up at 1920x1080 no problems. When running it out from the HTPC I simply can't get it running at anything over 800x600. Turns out I'm not alone, there are loads of people experiencing HDMI problems with the 780g chips, some even have identical rigs to me (Toshiba 37XV555DB). Firmware updates don't help, driver updates don't help, southbridge updates don't help. I've wasted about 14 hours researching, trying drivers, tweaks, cables, all to no avail.
So I caved and ordered an Asus M3A78-EM. This has GeForce 8300 IGP and will accept all my existing components so it should be a straight swap. Yes, it means that I have to faff around swapping the mobo out but the benefit is that I get working HDMI that carries 1080p and audio on one cable with no additional cards, heat or power consumption in the case.
I've written a small program that will scrape IMDB and get thumbnails and relevant data for the .XML file - is there a valid entry for a MyMovies.XML file that'll point GBPVR at a file in a directory other than that file? If not I'll stick with individual .XML files rather than merging an entire scan into a single output file.
I know there's other apps that do the same job, for for some reason they're all painfully slow, taking upwards of 20 seconds per video file, mine usually takes around 4 seconds per file, should be less if you've got a better link to IMDb than I have. (Using the XBMC scraper often takes the best part of a minute per file).
I'm not much of a coder, the whole thing is written with AutoIt, is under 300Kb, all it does is run from the root movie folder, scour all directories for any supported videoformats and then downloads .JPG thumbnails and metadata, writing it to a moviename.XML file. It's simple, and it works. It misses sometimes when imdb returns odd results, but it's approx 95% accurate. The only graphical element is asking if you want to rescan existing files, and a progress bar show what it's up to.
I've had a look, but didn't turn anything up, is there a complete list of valid .XML metatags that GBPVR accepts somewhere?
