I have had 2 MVPs for some time now. This last Christmas I got a PCH A110. Initially I had lots of problems with it so I sent it in and they replaced the motherboard. Now I have it back (finally) and it is much more stable. I have it set up for GBPVR and it works well. My issue is that when the unit sits with the power off and I come turn it on, I can't navigate the menus. Every button I push I get the eternal "working" circle in the top left. The only thing I can seem to access is the setup screen. My work around for this is to press the stop button then the setup button. Once on the setup screen if I go to network options and click save for both the upper and lower settings then everything starts working as normal.
I am hoping that someone knows what I am talking about and has a fix for this. I am using a static IP for my PCH. I have a home network that consists of one PC with XP, 2 MVPs, 1 PCH and my DSL router. My MVPs work wonderfully. No problems at all.
Would it be possible to add an option to set the recording quality? It doesn't look like the recording quality in GB-PVR controls the HD-PVR's quality settings. I realize I can open up Arcsoft and change it there and it will stay until a reboot, but that is a pain and I always seem to forget.
I've successfully set up my dvb card, the preview works fine and the EPG channel finder thingey worked perfectly. However when I try to actually use Live TV it drops back to the schedule.
I am finally building my first pc-based client. The setup is straight forward. However, if I use Streaming, liveTV works perfect even for ATSC channels, however, recordings stutter. If I use Fileshare, recordings work perfect including HD ones, but liveTV stutter. I tried changing the client pre-delay to 4000 and 6000 with no difference. I am using a fast GB Ethernet with no speed issues.
It seems that it is either livetv or recordings will work well but not both. I am grateful for any insights you might have. I am using mpg files with cyberlink mux on the server.
I bought this a few years ago for my server build and it has been working great for us since then. With my client machine I'm looking for one of these again but they don't seem to be as common anymore, I think they have actually been discontinued.
Searching on ebay I find alot of the "Dell" ones that don't appear to have the tv power button as the other Microsoft one does. Is there a replacement for this remote out there?
I've read a few reviews saying it doesn't have enough power to do HTPC. However, in the new ION config., does the GeForce 9400 chipset offload enough of the processing to make the atom a viable platform?
I want to playback 1080p as well as handling 1080i OTA source.
Are there any functionalities I'd miss?
I'd like to try the dvr-ms mux in an external graph for firewire capture. But, I can't figure out the mux name in the Graphedit filters list (I'm assuming it's a DriectShow filter?). Can anyone help? Also, if the dvr-ms mux can't be used in a graph like this, that would be good to know as well.
Also, is there a single post or thread that lists the pluses and minuses of using the dvr-ms mux? This was discussed a year or so ago, but I can't find it now. I can live without comskip as long as skipping works.
Hi - i'm a new user. I have GB-PVR v1.3.11 and the newest release of Burndvdx2. Config set to NTSC and to use Nero.
I tried burning a movie to a dvd. It was 2.5 hours, and 5.3GB to start with, but i ran comskip on it, and set it to trim the commercials, which should have brought it under 4.7gb.
It burned the DVD without showing any errors (that i know about). However the dvd only had around 2GB of info, and was missing about an hour of the movie. The beginning and end were there, but it skipped a bunch in the middle. No commercials though.
Also it would only play on my computer. Not on my DVD player. I've used this drive and media combo with other software and it played fine on my DVD player.
I'm having a small problem with a few movies in my video library not changing images and metadata when browsing the library itself. The issue is with a few movie trilogies like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings where I guess having similar names might be causing issues. I have the Lord of the rings movies listed and titled such as LOTR The Two Towers and the star wars movies titled Star Wars I The Phantom Menace or Star Wars II ect. The original star wars trilogy movies seem to work fine and will change data but when I recently added the new trilogy the image and meta data would not change and still show from whatever movie was selected before them in the list. Two of the LOTR films seem to change fine but the move that is alpabetically listed in the middle does not change data either, which happens to be Return of the King. If I delete or rename the .xml file then the cover images will correctly change when browsing but as soon as I add the .xml file back then it displays the same behavior. Not a huge issue but I thought I would ask to see if anybody else had this problem.
I am struggling trying to improve the overall playback quality of my analog recordings. I am using a PVR-150 and have found that if I select something other than "encoder passthrough", live TV looks pretty good. But playback of recordings is still less than ideal. Since I have a fairly high bitrate set for recordings, I'm thinking this is due to the deinterlacing applied during playback but I can't figure out how to control it. I have ffdshow selected as the video decoder with the intent of selecting a different deinterlace method. But during playback there is only an ffdshow icon for audio, not for video regardless of what I set for the playback decoder. Does this mean that for some reason, GBPVR is not honoring my playback decoder setting?
