Seeking By Percentage / Exact Time
Posted by: ZombieOverlord - 2009-02-25, 06:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hey guys,

Loving GBPVR (really awesome) -- one thing that's bugging me is that seeking with a remote is a bit tedious. I do realise that you can input <number>-skip to skip ahead or back by that amount, but I'd really like to be able to seek to a specific time or even a percentage.

Say when you're watching a video or recording you start typing in numbers and it shows up on the screen like so:

first number:

0:00:05

third number:

0:05:00

And then when you press enter it seeks to that time.

You get the drift (though I don't really need the OSD even thought it would be nice, i'd just love the functionality)

Would this be at all possible? Would be it possible to write a plugin? (which I'd be willing to do if there's no other way to do this)

Thanks in advance.

MVP not redrawing (smearing) OSD when using subtitles
Posted by: pvruser - 2009-02-25, 03:45 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

I recently started using ccextractor to get srt files from ATSC recordings. they are nice and they do show up on the MVP however the captions overwrite (never clean up) so the writing ends up being a smear. the OSD does not disappear either (the file name in the blue/black box). removing the srt file returns everything to normal. the captions are extracted to avoid roll up & typing, it's just the whole sentence once. i'm using mvpmc firmware dongle.mvpmc-20080930.bin.

The recordings play fine on the PC and PVRX2. help is appreciated.

Thanks!

  TV signal strength meter

I can tune to different frequencies when tuning the channels, It would be grand to know when I press crtl-o what signal strength I am getting from that channel.

loving gbpvr!

  XviD Second Pass With FFMPEG
Posted by: BTJustice - 2009-02-25, 01:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (55)

EDIT: IT WORKS!!! Please read... http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=35

I am trying to figure out how to have ffmpeg do a second pass when encoding a .mpg to a .avi but every time it leaves the .mpg and creates the .avi but it has no size. Here is my code in config.xml ...

Code:
<Conversion name="XviD" cmd="-y -i {SOURCE_FILE} -f avi -ab 224k -ac 2 -acodec mp3 -vcodec xvid -deinterlace -pass 2 -qscale 7 -vtag XVID {DEST_FILE}" targetExtension=".avi" />

  GraphRecorder - dvr-ms mux
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2009-02-25, 12:50 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

Has anybody created a working capture graph that uses the dvr-ms mux filter "Stream Buffer Sink"? If, could you please describe it.

I'm using firewire capture and cannot get consistent smooth playback of recordings recorded as PS using the ATI mux. The Cyberlink mux is worse.

I'd prefer to record to TS, but Sub's TS reader can't handle the crap files coming out of the STB. The Nvidia transport demux seems to work fine, but can't be used in GBPVR. My preview graph works well also, using the MS MPEG2 demux feeding the Nvidia decoders. So, I thought I'd try the dvr-ms mux.

Thanks for any insight.

Shortcuts in Music / Video Libraries
Posted by: NumberFive - 2009-02-24, 11:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hello,

I can't seem to get .lnk shortcuts working in either the Music or Video Library. Is this feature not supported anymore? I know it did work a few upgrades ago.

Thanks

MVP skip/jump FWD/REW does opposite or nothing (quite often)
Posted by: pvruser - 2009-02-24, 09:53 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (8)

It's odd but since i started using the MVP somewhat more i noticed that the remote keys for skip & jump FWD/REW sometimes do the opposite or do nothing or work just fine. the funny thing is that i see the timeline indicator on top of the screen changing time but the video does not (in the cases where no skipping at all happens).

is this common or just my issue? the remote has 34 keys & i use the ffmpeg for transcoding (pretty much the standard settings):

<MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLineNTSC>-y -i "{SOURCE_FILE}" -b 2400k -ar 48000 -ac 2 -r 29.97 -s 352x240 -f svcd "{DEST_FILE}"</MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLineNTSC>

Dumb question - where do I log in?
Posted by: Mormegil - 2009-02-24, 09:28 PM - Forum: Netflix Watch Now - Replies (4)

Thanks for all the hard work on this.

I've been on NetFlix for a while, but had to reinstall my OS the other week so I'm now on Silverlight.

I just installed your plug-in yesterday, with Silverlight as the external viewer. I put in my regular DVD queue for the RSS feed.

But I can't get it to work. The queue is unavailable, and when I just go to the top movies, and pick one (say Spotless Mind), it hangs on the retrieving information window until the GBPVR screensaver kicks in.

I've tried it both full screen and windowed mode to see if there's an IE log-in screen.

IE doesn't even start up (as I expected it to with Silverlight).

I can watch NetFlix fine in IE through the NetFlix website, BTW.

Thanks

I have a problem with the new version . It cant find any channels . The old version was uninstalled and the folder was erased . I made a small video clip to show the problem.
