bda error message - cannot configure HDHR
Posted by: jnikora - 2009-02-03, 08:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (26)

I downloaded GB_PVR this morning and have been at it ever since. When I try to configure the capture device, i.e. scan and map channels. I get an error message that my BDAs are either not configured properly or are in use by another program.

I have tried downloading codecs, re loading the BDAs via HDHR, rescanning channels in HDHR, viewing the error log (which makes no sense to me) and five hours worth of other stuff that I can't remember off hand. I am completely frustrated.

I have:

Intel 865 PERL MoBo
P4 2.8GHz
1024 Mb
EVGA FX6200 video w/256Mb
WINXP SP3
.NET 2.0
Visual Basic redistributable (or whatever it is that is mentioned as a requirement)
HDHomerun v.2 with the latest firmware (configured for GB_PVR)
ScheduleDirect.com account

I have followed all the instructions but have arrived nowhere.

Any help is appreciated.

Jim

  Comcast Digital Adaptors!!!!
Posted by: ww4397 - 2009-02-03, 06:13 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (31)

I just received notice from Comcast that starting 2/17/09 Digital Adaptors will be needed to get channels 25-99. Channels 2-24 will continue to be sent in analog. They will provide up to 2 digital adaptors for free.

Does this mean that my PVR150 and M150 (analog cards) will only be able to record channels 2-24?!!

What do us guys with analog cards do? Can we somehow use the adaptors to feed the cards?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

  PVR 150 static
Posted by: sean - 2009-02-03, 05:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I am having trouble with a PVR 150. Almost all the channels are very fuzzy(static) but the audio is clear. When I use winTV player that came with it, all the channels are clear. I have had this card for about 5 years now and have never had any issues with it but the corrupt files. I have tried 4 different version of drivers and switched PCI slots and coax cables with my ATI tuner card and getting the same results. I opened the tuning assistant but the channels look the same there. I also re imaged the computer 2 weeks ago tiring to correct the issues. I am on the latest GBPVR build I installed it the other day.

Postprocessing.bat not running on all recordings
Posted by: khaver - 2009-02-03, 05:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Last night I had 4 shows set to record. All 4 recorded OK but postprocessing.bat ran on only 2 of them. I'm using TS Mux with multirecord with an HVR-2250.

Attached are the logs.

Keep exiting back to main menu while navigating
Posted by: hokierower - 2009-02-03, 02:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Whenever I'm scrolling any of the lists, my TV schedule for instance, I can move around for a bit before gbpvr quits back to the main menu. I'm using the arrow keys to navigate and are not touching any other keys. Anyone else have this problem

  PC client trials
Posted by: elbryyan - 2009-02-03, 02:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

I've been messing with setting up a PC client for quite some time now. I'm testing now with the living room PC as the server and our office PC as the client. Both machines are well capable of playing HD video but I've never quite been able to get the client to play recordings smoothly. Any combination of muxes or decoders never seemed to do the trick. So last night I bring home an extra long cat5 cable and run it across the living room to the study and plug it into the network switch. Then the magic happened. I could watch all the recordings smooth as silk. I even watched a recording and started live tv in the living room at the same time and no hiccups. Loading the tv guide on the client, which took 5 mins before, was almost instantaneous. So the good news is I know I can get it working. I just don't relish the idea of having to crawl thruough the attic to drop another cable.

Problem:
I would like to get a client to be able to use live TV as well as watch recordings if at all possible. I got live tv working on the client using the TS Mux, however, I recorded a few minutes of a show and the playback of the recording was just too jumpy using file sharing mode. Recordings play back fine using the DVR-MS mux but of course live TV does not work.

Question:
Is it possible to get both live tv and view recordings on a PC client?

If you got this far, thanks for reading.

MVPMCX2 unstable on my PCH A100
Posted by: skreien - 2009-02-03, 01:48 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (8)

Martin,

Seems like after playing about 2-3 video files that mvpmcx2 locks up when stopping the playback. The screen goes dark like it's going to switch back to the MVPMCX2 interface, but it gets hung up at that point. Often I can just barely see a ghost image on the screen of what I was playing when I hit stop. I can telnet to and restart the PCH whenever it happens, and it's easily reproducible. Are there any logs generated that I can pass on? Any suggestions on troubleshooting? I'm not overly familiar with the filesystem structure on the PCH yet but am an experienced linux admin.

Thanks!

Almost forgot, I am running the latest PCH firmware and the latest GBPVR.
