V1.3.11, channel changer not working for scheduled recordings
Posted by: hatterman - 2009-02-04, 02:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (24)

I use a .exe channel changer that simply gets the channel information from GBPVR (by selecting to use a .exe. channel changer in the TV source settings config). This then simply runs eventghost to transmit the 3 digits.

It works great when I change channels but doesn't seem to be executed with a scheduled recording. The recording takes place but to all intents and purposes it looks like the channel changer is not being called.

It works no prob with v1.3.7.

Any suggestions as to what I can try ?

Thanks.

  Recordings Problem
Posted by: Lindsay - 2009-02-04, 09:56 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I look after a friend's GBPVR and he has reported that recordings aren't being stored. I have remotely accessed his system and found it said it was recording a program from a week ago! But there was no file in the recordings folder. I killed that and looked at his pendings. There are three there that have earlier dates (like a week ago!) and they won't cancel.

I guess it looks as if the database has got corrupted. Any advice as to what to do would be welcome.

  Comskip troubles in 1.3.11
Posted by: ceandra - 2009-02-04, 05:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

I upgraded recently. I beleive my problems started upon upgrade, but not certain.

I am recording in dvr-ms, as I had trouble in prior version with TS. I am recording QAM channels. the particular cases tonight are with channel 13, which is CBS, in std def, as HD had issues with CBS.

When looking at NCIS (recorded 7 to 8) and Mentalist (8 to 9), there were almost no commercial breaks showing. Mentalist had a part of first commercial.

I have GBPVR set to use comskip, and comskip to make info available during show. It has worked great until Monday. On Sunday, superbowl comskip was just fine.

I have no parallelprocessing or postprocessing bat files active.

I am attaching the comskip files from the run during the recording. I then ran comskip manually (twice), and both time it stopped around 85-89% complete (got most commercials). Including those files as well. Finally, including all gbpvr logs from tonight.

I also changed early Sunday (or Saturday night) from Symantec AV to Macaffee. Howevver, taht change was before the superbowl. I doubt that was the issue.

Monday night program also showed no comskip results when we played a show back (also channel 13).

Could be something wrong in config after the changeover, either comskip or gbpvr. I did not change comskip program. Running 80.007, been fine for some time.

Thanks
Chuck

wake.cmd still get called on wakeup?
Posted by: psycik - 2009-02-04, 05:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (19)

and it it called by pvrx2 or the recording service?

I'm thinking about trying to get a s1 based standby working to let the hard drives spin down every so often.

So to get that working i need to shut down pvrx2 to get the windows screen saver to take effect. And so on wake up it would be nice if I could restart pvrx2.

  IP PVR using
Posted by: IGLE0 - 2009-02-04, 04:56 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have STB that can record using ip pvr. I have a special program on computer what can receive ip stream from receiver and save it in file. Generaly I dont need a capture card. Recording functonality on stb is very basic so I want use GBPVR to control FTA, just sending commands using usbuirt.
Do you know any plugin or how I can config GBPVR just to send command to record but do not actually record and take file from folder. I don't know GBPRV, I just learn possibilities.
Thanks

  XMLTV plugin not working
Posted by: jfm - 2009-02-04, 04:00 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

Here is the contents of xmltv - run.bat:

Quote:xmltv tv_grab_na_dd --days 14 --output xmltv.xml

copy xmltv.xml c:\epg\xmltv.exe.xml

Here is what I get when I run it in a command window:
Quote:C:\EPG\xmltv>xmltv - run.bat
Timezone is -0500
- is not a valid command.
Valid commands are:
tv_cat tv_grab_fi tv_grab_se_swedb
tv_check tv_grab_fr tv_grab_uk_bleb
tv_extractinfo_en tv_grab_hr tv_grab_uk_rt
tv_find_grabbers tv_grab_huro tv_grab_za
tv_grab_ar tv_grab_it tv_grep
tv_grab_be tv_grab_na_dd tv_imdb
tv_grab_br_net tv_grab_na_dtv tv_remove_some_overlapping
tv_grab_ch_search tv_grab_na_icons tv_sort
tv_grab_combiner tv_grab_nc tv_split
tv_grab_dk tv_grab_nl tv_to_latex
tv_grab_dtv_la tv_grab_nl_wolf tv_to_potatoe
tv_grab_ee tv_grab_no tv_to_text
tv_grab_es tv_grab_no_gfeed tv_validate_file
tv_grab_es_laguiatv tv_grab_pt tv_validate_grabber
tv_grab_eu_epgdata tv_grab_re

C:\EPG\xmltv>

I tried adding .exe to xmltv in the batch file, but that didn't help. Any ideas why this is not working?

No sound in GBPVR, sound in graphedit/lastgraph
Posted by: tomper - 2009-02-04, 02:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hello

I'm not getting sound when playing various types of video file in GBVR (1.3.11) but when I load up lastgraph in graphedit straight after they all play fine.

I've tried just about every combination of decoders and renderers but I can't get a peep out of it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

  Unable to Stream
Posted by: stoncold - 2009-02-04, 01:52 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

Hello,

I'm probably missing something simple here, but the options to configure streaming do not show up in the EWA config page for me. I have 0.8.6F installed on the server currently. I also do not get the streaming button for live TV.

Any help would be most appreciated.

No sound playing trailers or other .mpg files through mvp
Posted by: navyblue - 2009-02-04, 12:26 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

Hello all,

I currently have the cinema plugin installed. I am also using startConvert.bat and Convert.bat to automatically convert my trailers from .mov to .mpg so that they will play on the mediaMVP. The problem is that the .mpg files have no sound when played through the mediaMVP. The video shows up fine and great, but there is no sound. When I play the file from my computer, the sound is there, but its not there from the mvp. This just recently occurred about a week ago. The trailers played fine before as .mpg's, but not now (no sound). Not sure what happened.

Also, the other day I converted some .wmv files to .mpg and the same thing happened. The mvp played the video, but not the sound. The recorded shows play fine though.

Anyone else experience this?

  no show details in guide
Posted by: kjc - 2009-02-03, 11:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (22)

GBPVR seems to be working, but my guide displays "No Show Details" for every channel. I'm getting the same thing with Schedules Direct and with mc2xml. I think I have it set up right, but most of this is kind of over my head - it's taken most of my Schedules Direct trial to figure out that I can't fix this on my own.

My card is a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1800. GB-PVR v1.3.11.

I don't have cable or satellite, and that may be where I'm getting part of the problem? Actually another question I had was if my card would let me use satellite if I connected a box to it. Hauppauge hints at some limitations on satellite/OTA tv with this card, but they also seem to combine those warnings with windows media center usage, and I just can't figure it out!

Thanks
