  DVD playback
Posted by: Daldana - 2009-01-25, 09:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi all,

I know I must be missing something in my setup, but I can't play a dvd disk in GBPVR. While in Live TV, I use the menu to go to the DVD button, press ok, and then the screen goes blank (no spinning up of disk either). In the config, I have DVD Navigator selected and have tried both the System Default and Cyberlink video decoders (which are the only two option showing). The disk, a retail disk, plays back fine in VLC and in Nero Showtime but will not even start in GBPVR. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dave

  uploading files to wiki
Posted by: pastro - 2009-01-25, 09:07 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

I can't seem to upload to the wiki. It just times out and doesn't upload. The file I am trying to upload is a 20meg zip archive. Is there a file size limit?

Being Human (BBC3 tonight - UK)
Posted by: bgowland - 2009-01-25, 06:29 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

I caught the pilot episode of this quite by accident last year. I don't normally go out of my way to recommend things but the pilot had enough promise that if you're into comedy / drama / horror / supernatural etc., I'd say give it a go. 9pm BBC3 tonight (repeated 00:15).

Synopsis:

Quote:Following a successful pilot last year, the drama about a very unusual flat-share returns for a six-part series. Say hello to Annie the ghost, Mitchell the vampire and George the werewolf (the excellent Russell Tovey), whose efforts to be ordinary are thwarted by tendencies to grow three-inch fangs or disappear. It sounds daft, and it is - but it's also funny and scary.

Penned by Doctor Who/Torchwood writer Toby Whithouse, it deftly switches scenes between domestic humour and bloody terror. The danger is that the novelty will wear off. Fortunately, there's a larger plot afoot: the vampire community are planning insurrection. Can Mitchell resist the temptation to join in?

Hi

I've been getting this error for a while and can't track down the problem. Config.xml attached and thanks for any advice you can give.

  Blackberry Converter
Posted by: jerry430 - 2009-01-25, 04:23 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

I've been transcoding my mpegs to Ipod (MP4) via the Video Library of GBPVR and transferring them to my Blackberry Curve for watching while on the road. Although the video quality is excellent, the audio is slow, like it's playing at less than full speed.
Is there anything I can change in the config to speed up the audio?
If not, does anyone know of a (free) mpeg converter that works well for the Blackberry?

GBPVR stuggles on MPG, nothing else
Posted by: framed - 2009-01-25, 11:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi guys,

I'm having a bit of trouble with GB-PVR and MPG files. I can watch XviD .avis and HD .mkv/mp4 files without any problem, but as soon as I try to watch LiveTV or playback a recorded MPG, I get really bad performance - the picture normally freezes after a couple of seconds, but the sound keeps on going.

I'm assuming this is some kind of decoder type issue - I've got everything set to 'System Default' in config.exe, and using Windows Media Player, the files play back without any problem.

I've tried various other decoders - ffdshow, ATI, cyberlink, "MPEG Video Decoder", and nothing seems to make a difference.

There's no useful messages in the debug logs, because I think as far as GBPVR is concerned, it's doing its job ok - I just get "Before LiveTV" and then "After LiveTV".

It's worth mentioning that I did just update my nvidia drivers (using their "tell me which ones i need" tool), but given I can play all the other types of file, I can't see that that's the problem?

I'd really appreciate anyone elses thoughts on things I could try!

Thanks
