Auto TS Conversion on 1.3.11 still broken
Posted by: daneo - 2009-01-14, 09:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi Sub,

it looks like the automatic MPEG-2 conversion of TS files is still not doing it's thing.

I will put my old workaround in place, but it would nice to have this fixed in the "Super TS" release...

Code:

0 byte recordings on one QAM station (v1.3.11)
Posted by: -stattik- - 2009-01-14, 07:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (61)

I recently made the switch to QAM(HDhomerun) and it works well except that one station (CBS-HD) creates 0 byte recordings.

This station is unique because the setup app could not find it when scanning for QAM channels and setting the Qam.ini Manager to "Center frequencies" and "Center frequencies (70+)" All other channels could be found except for that one. If I try a scan in the setup app with "Center frequencies (70-138)" it finds the missing station and I can view it in the window. Recording anything on the station however, results in a 0 byte file.

I'm attaching logs. The first attempt resulted in a 0 byte file(CBS-HD). The second attempt was on a different station on the same frequency and succeeded. The log entries look the same except for the tuning info.

Another issue worth noting is that the config app crashes near the end of the scanning process. The stations that are found are saved but it crashes every time near the end of the scan.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  improved UI for navigation
Posted by: Incongruent - 2009-01-14, 06:58 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

Hey there,

If I had to suggest an improvement, it would be to the UI/navigation controls.

>The main menu system is fine with the left/right arrow keys or mouse-wheel navigation. But it isn't always clear to noob'ers that a right click will take you back to the previous menu. Maybe if there was a subtle button appeared when mouse movement occurs this would help with the UI.

>A help button available from all screens would be nice. Maybe as simple as listing the available keys/navigation controls for that particular page or maybe as detailed as the kind of thing Windows help provides (chm file or something).

>channel changing via the up/down/mousewheel is convenient, but maybe a little H.U.D display along the bottom with channel +/-, volume +/-, enter channel #, etc would make it more user friendly.

>on the video library playback mode, it would be nice to have a little H.U.D in the bottom 1/8th of the screen with buttons like play, stop, pause, volume, and other options. Something similar to Media player I guess.

Those are my wish list items. Smile BTW this app is great... already donated this year (which was long overdue).

  Crashes every single time
Posted by: jmontana - 2009-01-14, 04:05 AM - Forum: Netflix Watch Now - Replies (3)

I've tried everything; I can't get this to work. Every time I select a movie, it tries to download the movie information and crashes PVXR2.

The log always shows this just before:

Code:
2009-01-13 22:46:16.263 ERROR [10] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: startIndex at System.Globalization.CompareInfo.IndexOf(String source, String value, Int32 startIndex, Int32 count, CompareOptions options) at System.Globalization.CompareInfo.IndexOf(String source, String value, Int32 startIndex) at Netflix.WatchNow.Movie.GetDetails() at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state) at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()

Any thoughts? Thanks!

black screen when pausing HD tv.
Posted by: teookie - 2009-01-14, 03:19 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Anyone want to take a stab at figuring out why my screen went black when I hit pause on a HD channel?

This was with a fresh install of the latest version GBPVR. I left everything in config at it's default setting except I changed video renderer to EVR, set full screen mode, and set up my tuners/EPG. All codecs are set at system default.

Here is the long version if anyone is interested:
After installing and configuring I fired up PVRX2 and did a little SD channel surfing including pausing, rewinding, fast forwarding. It all worked fine and looked good. The only problem was it felt a little sluggish; like a couple second delay with a black screen after hitting pause. Then I changed to a HD channel, and the whole picture on the screen looked like it was shaking up and down a few mm very quickly. hmmm. When I hit pause on the HD channel I got a blank screen/no sound. I waited for a few min w/o pushing any more buttons before I started hitting stop, exit, and play on the remote to try and get something back on the screen. Eventually I got the TV guide to show up again. From there I exited PVRX2. Hey, no crash!! Cool!!

I'd really like to get this program to work (I was unsuccessful last time I tried). Beyond TV works great so I'm sure my hardware is up to par. Any ideas?

  WMP Tag Support Extender
Posted by: Slice - 2009-01-13, 11:11 PM - Forum: Recording2, MusicLibrary2, SystemStatus Support - Replies (11)

Hi Folks,

I love the ML2 plugin, haven't gone to the beta version as yet but will soon!

I have alot of FLAC files and wanted to play them on my system. I wanted also to see the Album art and couldn't find taglib-sharp (the site seemed to be down!) But I did find http://wmptagext.sourceforge.net/

This may have been posted before and there is probably a good reason for that but so far, it's added my flac collection album art to WMP and in the default music player.
I have two issues however, Firstly, I don't have ANY (MP3 or otherwise) album art in ML2 (Ver 7.2) and,
secondly I've also edited the config.xml to add .flac to the list of accepted formats in ML2, how do I get them into the collection, I've done a rescan. Should I nuke the collection and scan from scratch?

I hope this is of help to someone, I'm a noob at this so forgive me if I've got something wrong!

Cheers!

1.3.11. - avi playback on mvp
Posted by: lenor - 2009-01-13, 07:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

hi folks, just upgraded the server from 1.2.13 to 1.3.11 (and mvpmc-bin from july 08-issue to september 30, too Smile ) and it all does great (playback of mpg-files, live-tv, net radio) except for playing avi-files over the mvp. all the tv does when pressing the play-button on an avi-file is leading the screen back to the mvpmc emulation-page (where you can start emulation, file-mode, reboot etc).
is this an issue of the new 1.3.11 or is it the new dongle? i quickly rolled back the mvpmc-dongle to july 08 however, which did not make a difference.
i enclose a fresh set of logs, please let me have a clue Sad

Hauppauge Remote w/ different DVB-S card
Posted by: jman11 - 2009-01-13, 07:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have a cheap hauppauge wintv card with remote that I am not currently using - my PVR system is using a Twinhan 1020A dvb-s card. Can I put the hauppauge card in and use it only for the remote control functionality for GBPVR?
