  IPod Touch & GBPVR
Posted by: taz - 2009-01-13, 06:28 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I am looking at getting an Ipod Touch (recieved a gift card from work). I have seen a few posts here about people using one with GBPVR and had a few questions:

1. Do you use the EWA for streaming videos or do you have a different application installed to allow access to GBPVR recordings?
2. Any difficulties setting anything up?
3. Is the video quality OK? I often use a laptop as a GBPVR client over wireless connection and the quality is the same as watching it on the GBPVR server.

I also have a two more questions not related to GBPVR:

1. 16GB or 32GB?
2. Any "must have" apps?

Thanks in advance,
Taz

1.3.11 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
Posted by: gEd - 2009-01-13, 06:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

After selecting a programme in the search menu and then selecting record, it drops back to the main menu. The programme appears to be scheduled ok.

I then see the error in the title in the log file (attached)

turning off windows firewall doesn;t make any difference.

  Help building an extender box
Posted by: SmallTownUSA - 2009-01-13, 01:20 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (12)

Hi all: I would like to build my own media extender for my HDTV. I have a PC (workstation) with Windows Media Center I plan to use as my server. The house is also wired for ethernet. I would like to download content over the net, store it on my WMC then play it back on my extender that I plan to build. The workstation and media extender are in separate rooms, and will be connected via ethernet.
Questions:

1. do I run GB-PBR on my workstation in place of WMC?
2. What additional components do I need in my workstation?
3. What components do I need in order to build a media extender?
4. What s/w do I need for the media extender?

Thanks.

  Multi Recording Padding Not Working
Posted by: hasso - 2009-01-13, 09:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (42)

Just upgraded to 1.3.11. Have multi recording turned on with pre and post padding of 5 minutes. Tonight TV1 Coronation Street 7:25 - 8:35 (inc. of padding). TV3 House 8:25 to 10:25 (inc. Padding). Coronation Street stopped 8:30, House started 8:30. Same tuner card. Don't have access to logs right now, but anyone else experiencing this?

ZProcess and UltraXMLTV :Interact with Desktop
Posted by: zehd - 2009-01-13, 08:44 AM - Forum: ZTools and UltraXMLTV - No Replies

I've discovered that the mechanism that checks the recording services' 'Interact with Desktop' isn't working correctly.

I've now made a change to both ZProcess2.exe and UltraXMLTV_Enhancer.exe so that there will be a message box telling you to make the change, and will halt / fail until it is changed.

I would have liked to programatically make the change for you, but it isn't working for me just yet...

To manually change the Recording service to 'Interact with Desktop':

From the run menu type services.msc and enter

Find GB-PVR Recording Service and rigth click and Stop. Then Right click to Properties.

On the 'log on' tab, check 'Interact With Desktop'. Close Properties

Right click the service and ' start' it

  Live TV thumbnail in EPG
Posted by: Barsk - 2009-01-13, 08:35 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

With the new functionality to record all channels in a mux simultaneously I guess it would be "rather" simple to make a variant on the ususal PIP views that TVs normally have.

Why not have a kind of live TV thumbnail in the left hand side if the EPG, next to the channel icon? Would be kind of neat to see what is actually on each channel in the EPG view... Smile

If the number of tuners are not sufficent to fill all thumbnails with Live TV simoultaneously then an automatic round-robin method could be used to hop between the different channels and display the thumbnails a few seconds at a time.

  Gamezone .xml for Mayhem3
Posted by: 5l4k3r - 2009-01-13, 07:46 AM - Forum: GameZone - Replies (2)

I've been using the Mayhem3 skin for a while now, and love it! I tweaked the Gamezone .xml files a bit and figured some other users might like the way it looks. I haven't tweaked the files for Blue, Slick, or Community3, but it shouldn't be too hard to do if you would really want to.

What I did:
- Custom gbpvr logo(s) for menu (included, but not really related to Gamezone)
- Custom Task image for Gamezone
- Custom Title Logo(s) for Gamezone
- Menu buttons use images from baseskin.xml
- Menu buttons are closer together (Better for lots of emulators)
- Changed colors on NoOFFilesLabelImage, NoOFPagesFilesLabelImage, and selectedemulatorlabelImage
- Custom Saturn.jpg that matches .png files from Maximus Arcade
- Changed location and size of emulatorIcon
- Changed GameInfoPopup (not MameInfoPopup) sizes, colors, background, and locations (I think... it was quite a while ago...)

Just copy and paste the folders inside the zip to the Skin2/Mayhem3/ folder. Make sure to back up all your original files just in case.

If you want some really nice .png files for emulator icons, head to Maximus Arcade and download the Maximus Arcadius Theme. A little digging after you unzip it, and you should find them.

No sound in playback of HD-PVR recordings...
Posted by: MeekMaster - 2009-01-13, 05:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I finally got video working for playback of HD-PVR .ts recordings by installing the powerdvd 8 decoder. I still however cannot get any audio. The recordings work fine in windows media player so Im not sure what is going on. LiveTV works great though, sound and video both work there. I deleted all my logs, launched pvrx2, played a clip, stopped it after a few seconds, shut down pvrx2 manually and attached my new logs. Can anyone take a look and see if they can help me out? I would appreciate it very much!!

"no show details" in TV Guide
Posted by: davidjrichard - 2009-01-13, 05:01 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I have the following situation

  • Under TV Guide, I'm getting "no show details" for all channels for current time and any time in the future and 2 hours back.
  • Under TV Guide, I can see show details just fine if I go back more than a couple of hours (scroll to the left).
  • Under Recordings, I can see show details just fine for all shows which are pending to record, including shows 10 days into the future.
So I'm guessing there's a glitch in the TV Guide not properly displaying show details. Any advice?

Thanks!

  Hauppauge PCI-e 1250 - Setup Issues
Posted by: DellGX620 - 2009-01-13, 04:50 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (9)

I can't seem to get GB-PVR to work with my HVR-1250 internal HDTV card. The program and the config hang. I was able to select my card and scan for channels, which it found all ATSC locals, then it said it was getting the program guide info. I then go back to the GB-PVR program and pull up the guide and all the channels are there but no guide data. I click on a channnel and select watch but the program hangs. What am I missing.

Any help is appreciated. I did use the search, not a forum newbe, and it helped get me this far but now I'm stuck and at a loss.
