So I bought an OEM MCE remote and bean bag and lost the remote with no way of getting it back... is it possible to use the Hauppauge remote that came with my tuner card with this setup? I am already using HIP for control...
I purchased a dual tuner card (analog/digital) with what I believe has a ViXS chipset for capture capabilities. I have been trying to configure the card based off of the Nvidia DualTV w/o luck.
I'm not too concerned about the digital side but I would really love to get the analog tuner and capture working. The card is recognized through config, but LiveTV fails to function in pxr2. From what I have gathered from the logs, it appears that the output pin isn't connecting properly but I'm pretty much a noob here. Any help would be greatly appreciated - attaching FilterCheck.log along with logs directory.

The motherboard I purchased for the HTPC is a MSI P6NG Neo-Digital which has onboard Nvidia Geforce 7100 / nForce 630i video with HDMI out. I also have an EVGA Geforce 8600 GT w/512mb card which takes up the PCI express slot and a PCi slot. I guess the main problem with the onboard video is that it uses part of the 2 gb system ram.
Should I use the onboard video or the 8600 GT card? If the 8600, then how connect it to the TV? The S-video is, I guess, analog. Should I get a DVI to HDMI adapter, or what?
SchedulesDirect EPG update configured nightly at 0400.
I had a recording (The Drinky Crow Show) scheduled for 0415 on 2009-01-05, with pre- and post-padding of 5 minutes, making the actual recording span 0410-0435.
The recording started as expected at 0410, in the midst of the EPG update and a RecordingService log rollover. But at 0415, the service unexpectedly restarted this recording, leaving both <filename>.mpg and <filename>-2.mpg in the directory. This is the first time I've seen that happen. Found no errors in the logs (attached, after editing events outside this timeframe).
Anybody know if this is a normal occurrence, and should I move my EPG updates to a time when fewer recordings could be expected?

For the last few days I haven't had any program data for CNN Headline News. It's the only channel I don't have any data for, I even get data for the main CNN feed.
Zap2it does show program info for it and they get their data from the same place don't they?
Any ideas where to start troubleshooting this? (though it's not really a big deal as I don't often record shows from CNN Headline, I'd like to solve it before it shows up on other channels).
Oh, I use Schedules Direct to get my program info.
I have a couple of hard drives that have been in use for awhile but are 500 Gig each. I was thinking of making a Raid 0 array out of them on my linux server and then sharing it across the LAN to my GB-PVR box. I don't have room in the GB-PVR box to mount the drives. Would the speed on this be acceptable for Live TV or Recording Playback?
Anyone done a remote network shared recording drive?
It says in the wiki: "If you install a digital TV card, select a mux other than the DVR-MS on the Misc2 tab “BDA Multiplexer”
Does this mean that my current dvr-ms method of recording my QAM channels will not be compatible with the popcornhour? I'm real happy with DVR-MS and I would hate to change to .ts (with all it's time indexing problems I've heard about and seen for myself too).
Second question:
It says in the wiki: "Once mvpmcx2 is setup properly every time you power up your PCH from the plug you will need to run the Telnet option in telnet.html to initialize mvpmcx2"
Does that mean I have to telnet every time I power up the PH?
I'm thinking about ordering one of these devices and wanted to know what I was in for.
I have downloaded both zap2xml and mc2xml to generate an xmltv file. When I point GBPVR to that file and try to update the EPG both dont work. With zap2xml I get all the channels, but no program info. With mc2xml, GBPVR either crashes or does nothing.
